Downtown Disney

I know this is prob the most dumbest question ever asked on the boards but since Ive never been to DTD Im entitled to this dumb question Can you walk between west side and market place or do you have to get on another bus to get from one and the other? Also does anyone know for sure when disney quest is gonna close? I hear Jan 2007 and Jan 2008. So which is it?

You can walk.....we always do.
There isn't a bus to the West Side anymore, so you could only go as far as Pleasure Island anyway, easier...and faster to walk.

As far as I know, DQ closing has not yet been confirmed.

THIS may be the dumb question of this thread Do you need to have a Disney ticket to get into Downtown Disney? I was just there last year, but wasn't in charge of tickets, etc....so I cannot remember if we needed to show anything before entering. Also, our hotel is providing transportation to the Disney parks themselves....how can we get to Downtown Disney? Thanks!

OOO I know these answers, LOL. No you dont need any tickets for downtown disney. Downtown disney is free exceptions for like disney quest. And then you can buy tickets there for that. All transportation is done by buses except if you stay at old key west I think, then you can take a boat.

What's the cost for Pleasure Island? Is it one price to get in and then separate for the clubs?

I haven't been able to go during my previous trips.

I think they have a few different choices for packages....one of them gains you access to all clubs...one of them gets you into Pleasure Island, but then you need to pay cover charges at the clubs you attend

You don't need tickets for DTD, but you do for Disney Quest and Pleasure Island.

As for getting to DTD from your hotel, if you are at a Disney hotel they have busses going there. If you are at an offsite hotel (other than the DTD hotels which are only a short walk to DTD) take the hotel bus to a park and then get on a Disney bus to a Disney hotel and then a DTD bus from there. You can also take a pontoon boat from PORR or PORFQ.

$22.32 for a multi-club ticket.
$10.60 for a single club ticket.

The Single Club tickets are only for ONE dance club of your choice, and will NOT get you into Adventures Club or Comedy Warehouse. For those two, you must have a multi-club ticket.

Also, for $27.32, there is a 5 consecutive night ticket. So if you plan on returning to PI anytime within that 5 night period, you can buy the 5 night ticket outright - or upgrade it within 24 hours of your single night ticket's use.


As far as DisneyQuest goes - It's "closing" is ONLY an unconfirmed rumor at this point. I would not put much stock in it

Last time I was at DTD they did have a boat that took you from one side to the other if you didnt want to walk it.

At the Marketplace, you can get a boat behind Rainforest and Captain Jack's. I'm not sure where it drops you off though because we usually just walk the distance and have a nice stroll.
