Downtown Disney to DCA

I am staying at Paradise Pier, in February. I know that I can walk to Downtown Disney and take the monorail to Tomorrowland but can I get into DCA from Downtown Disney?

kinda, sorta. The main entrance to BOTH parks is just at the end of Downtown Disney, one each side of the esplanade. However there is an entrance into Californian Adventures in the Grand California Hotel. You can only use this entrance if you enter the Grand California Hotel through Downtown Disney. There may be time restrictions for non Grand California Hotel guests. I know that they dont allow non Grand California Hotel guests to enter by the main street entrance of the Grand California Hotel.

You will enter DTD near the Disneyland Hotel then walk through DTD and that drops you right into the Esplanade which has the gates to both DL and DCA. PPH and DLH are at one end of DTD, parks at the other end.

The only two other way into the parks as noted are Monorail into DL/Tomorrowland and if you enter the GCH from DTD you can enter DCA directly from that hotel, but that is not really any value using that as a shortcut vs the main DCA gates.

What you can Not do is cut across the street and use GCH as a shortcut to het to DTD or DCA. Front door access is restricted to GCH guests.

In addition to the info posted by PPs, keep in mind that you do not want to use the monorail if you're trying to rope-drop Disneyland - the monorail doesn't begin running until the park opens, and even then it takes awhile, so it's much better to just head down to the esplanade and enter from there.

Plus at DL, the Monorail is more of an attraction than efficient means of transportation. While it may save you a few physical steps, unless there is no line it typically takes just as long if not longer than walking.

Thanks, if I walk through Downtown Disney, I have a different security line correct? Last year I had a few horrible wait times for bag check. I was staying near the convention center and took the ART bus.

Last year secret was reconfigured...All of DTD is now within the "Security Bubble" Guests arriving and parking in the M&F Parking garage are now screened before they even get on the tram and you will enter a checkpoint right in front of the DLH with MUCH shorter wait times if any at all. The security checkpoint between DTD and the Esplanade that was a cluster is now gone!
