Hi all...

Leaving for Disney in 19 days!!!! First trip!!! Super excited!!

Now, I have most things figured out but I'm still stumped on when to do Downtown Disney? ...and I am unable to find the park hours... when is it open and when does it close?

This is what our week looks like

Day 1 - EPCOT (afternoon as we are arriving that morning)
Day 2 - Animal Kingdom
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - EPCOT
Day 5 - DHS and Boardwalk after dinner
Day 6 - Magic Kingdom

How long is needed to explore downtown Disney? How long would it take to get from one of the parks, for example, if you suggest the AK day, how long would it take to get to Downtown Disney from AK?

I really want to explore... but I feel like our schedule is already super tight.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

First, don't think you have to fit in DTD, especially if this is your first trip. In reality, DTD is mostly about shopping and dining, both of which you can do at the parks or your resort.

In fact for a first trip there is so much to do in the parks, I would spend any "extra" time there rather than going to DTD.

We do Down Town a few times, the afternoon we arrive and the night after AK ,and the day we leave, to get the last mintue items. To do all of Down Town it takes about 3 - 5 hours ( lots of shops and restaurants )that is why we do down town many times, couple hours to shop and eat. Market place is open from 9 am to 11 pm and parts of Westside are open till 1 am; There is no direct buses from the parks to Down Town. But they do have buses from all the resorts. Figure 45 mins to get to Down Town from AK.

Thanks!

I don't feel like I "HAVE" to go.... but I would really enjoy going to the scrapbooking shop and seeing it... definitely not a must... but if I could fit it in, I'd love to :)

DTD is open late so you could go after your day at AK but you can't get to DTD directly from AK you have to transfer at a resort.

Don't waste your time here...they have very little...I have better selection and lots more in a local store than there. I was do disappointed...
