Hi everyone I am new to the board :wave2:. I am planning my first trip Dec 12 thr 16. I was planning on staying at the cbr but after seeing how much I could save at other places I am considering staying in downtown Disney, one of the places I have looked into is best western Lake Buena vista and I think I would like it. I was wondering if anyone had any reviews on there or other downtown Disney Hotels. I would like to find one where I can get breakfast included in my stay so I can cut down on the food expense. I will be the only adult on this trip so I am trying to budget everything.:Pinkbounc

You can try www.tripadvisor.com or check out www.biddingfortravel.com (the forum that supports Priceline). Last fall we paid 60/night for the DTD Hilton through Priceline based on research I had done on the forum. You can also check out a few reviews on travelocity under the hotel section. Just bring them up as if you were comparing prices and it will say whether or not there are travellers reviews for the property. I really liked staying in DTD because you still had a little of the Disney magic and the shops were just steps away!!!(my poor Visa card!):sunny:

I don't think any of the DTD hotels offer free breakfast, unless you purchase a package deal. I've stayed at the Grosvenor 3 years ago and really enjoyed the location and had a great experience. All the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. are very well kept. You will not be disappointed.

Let me preface this by saying I'm really not a picky person.

We stayed at Best Western about 6 months ago and were not happy. We were told this was a 3 star hotel, no way it was. On the surface it looked pretty, but once in our room we noticed it was kind of musty smelling and just didn't seem clean. There was a lot of construction going on at the time, which we were not aware of, and more than half of the parking spots were unuseable because of this. That shouldn't be an issue for you hopefully.
But the pillows...oh my...they were the worst I've ever had. Imagine a pillowcase stuffed (not even overly stuffed) with cotton balls. I always take my own pillow with me, but forgot it this one time. We called down to the front desk and to their credit, they did attempt to find another pillow, but they were all that bad.
What bothered me was that for the money we spent on this room, we could have stayed at an All Star.
Oh will...live and learn....and never forget your pillow!

yeah it is a package deal and I am willing to pay the extra for it. cause it would still be cheaper then eating at WDW

I am like you I always bring my pillow with me I have used goose down pillows my entire life and I cannot use anything else. You have me sorta worried about the musty smell. Both of my children have asthma so best western may be out then:mad: thanks for letting me know what to look for.
