Downtown Disney Hotels

Help - we going to Disney for 5 days in June. Not sure wish on resort hotel to stay at? Really want to stay in a 'Official' Disney Hotel to take advantage of early entry and e-ticket - best value for the price with super rates right now. Anyone stay and have comments on Best Western or Grosvenor?

Ok, I know this post won't win me any friends (and I do so want to be popular

) but our family will never, ever stay at the Grosvenor again.

Every other hotel in that area though is fabulous

I agree with the previous post. We stayed there for two nights once, never again...

I would stronly suggest that you look into a DIsney resort. The buses drop you off at better locations. Unless it has changed the downtown disney hotel buses drop you off at a stop futher away from the gates and at MK you are dropped of across the lagoon. Disney transport is much better that the downtown disney buses, IMHO

The Best Western is routinely coming up on priceline in the $25 range. It's a risk, but one I would be willing to take. See www.biddingfortravel.com for more information.

Also, Mary on Mousesavers has the some very good rates on the Hotel Royal Plaza and last time I checked this site had some good rates on the Courtyard.

While the Disney hotels are nice, it is hard to justifiy $100 a night for the All Stars when I got the Hilton for $60 on Priceline.

I think the only DTD hotel that is allowed to participate in early entry is the Hilton.

We stayed at the Hilton over Easter break and had a great time. I bid on Pricline and received it for 60 a night. It was directly across the street from DD and travel to the parks was a breeze.

We ended up on the 9th floor overlooking MK and MGM. The room was more than adequete for our family and the pools and hot tubs were also nice when we needed to take a break from the parks.
