We fly in on Friday afternoon. We are headed straight to downtown Disney to activate our annual passes at Downtown Disney Guest Services and for dinner at T-Rex.

I know parking down there can be a disaster, and last time we were at DTD there was a ton of construction. Looking at the map, it looks like we want to head to the "marketplace" area - and park at B, C, D or E?

Any tips or things I should keep in mind?

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we drove past it and it looked like you had to park in the new garage. The other lots were closed.
We wanted to go to the Marketplace area so just parked at the resort and rode the bus (which was also a nightmare--extremely overcrowded). You might have a better experience.

Pack patience. One of the two new parking garages is open and functional but there still is a lot of construction going on. There is a lot open near Rain Forest end that use to be I believe and employee lot. I've had good parking karma there several times. It's a little further to walk down to T-Rex but easy in and easy out and away from the bulk of the construction. This walk will put you near the bus drop off station and close to Guest Services.

FYI. We went to Downtown Disney to get our Annual Passes the day we arrived just a few weeks ago. We parked in the new parking structure and it was an easy walk to the other Disney Guest Services in front of DisneyQuest. The walk to T-rex would be on the other end of Downtown, but it would be a good way to see more of downtown along the way.

Good to know - how long do you think it would take to walk to T-Rex?

We have a dinner reservation at 8:15 - hoping to get the passes activated before dinner, eat, and get the kids back to the condo (we are offsite for first portion of trip) and in bed hopefully by 10 as we would like to try to make rope drop on the next day 9am

I google mapped the walk and it would be an 8 minute walk, 0.4 miles, or a little longer with smaller kids.
