I stayed at the PC last week (jul 25-aug01) when I checked in they gave me a "Downtown Disney Shop the Magic Card".
When you make a purchase of $50.00 or more at a select group of stores (pretty much all of them)in the Market place, you get a 10.00 off your next purchase at anyone of the same group of stores. This card was reusable, and I had to show my resort id.

I did use it (frequently) and each time the shopkeepers weren't sure how to ring it up. This led me to believe it is something new @ WDW. I was chatting with people from ASM and they didn't get one.

I never heard or read about this card on this site. Does everyone get these or did "pixie dust" sprinkle on me...and i didnt know it?

Maybe you can help me answer this question since it seems you have been to DD more rently than I (my last trip was in 2002). I had heard they opened some kind of pet place to but pet supplies and stuff in DD, is that true? Did you see a store like that when you were there?

Thanks!

Sorry, couldn't be more of a help.

I sayed at CSR from 8/1- 8/8 and I also got and used the Shop the Magic Card. I had a similar experience with the CMs, and they were better at ringing up with the card, than redeeming the $10.00 certificate. I liked that there was no minimum purchase to use the $10.00 off certificate. Maybe this was a perk for certain packages, or moderate and deluxe resorts only?

It's true. The shop is called Disney Tails and it is so adorable.

Well, my dog will be getting something from there, since I feel guilty about having to leave him.

idea:

If I could have the perfect Disney, it would be one where pets could come along (within reason) and not have to stay in a campground or kennel. It would be fun to walk my dog around the Boardwalk or CBR.

If I ever win the multi multi million billion dollar lottery, I will go to Disney and give funds to open a separate resort area for pet owners that want to bring their dogs or cats along, and even have a park dedicated to having fun with your pets. The resorts would be pet friendly in every way.

Imagine what a boost to the economy all of those pooper-scooper jobs would add!!:teeth:

I really think that concept would work.

I am taking my dog to a place that does not call themselves a kennel, but a "Bed, Bath and Biscuit"....he gets his own room, with a regular door that has a window, plus a window to look outside, plus his own sofa (like a loveseat size) and a pet bed. They have tv on during the day, just like he has here at home (I swear he watches it sometimes!) They play with him all day, he is never on a leash, they have a huge outdoor play area, completely supervised, but not on the leash because they have 6 ft hugh fences. It is a country like area. Totally beautiful all for $30 per day (the kennel charged me $12 a day). The lady that owns the place lives on the premises. She said that they keep them active all day long until about 7-8 p.m. because by then they are ready to crash from so much fresh air and activity, which is good, it will keep his mind off not being home. People have to get on waiting lists for this place, she only takes 20 dogs at a time. They try and find your dog a "pal" as long as your dog gets along with other dogs. I saw a picture of 3 dogs sitting together and it looked like they were talking to each other! LOL

People pay for these kinds of services so why not "Disney's New Pet Palace Resort and Spa?" LOL I see big white dog bone pillows on the bed....(for us of course!) :rotfl:

WOW!!
YOUR DOG WILL HAVE A BETTER TIME ON VACATION THAN YOU!
SOUNDS GREAT..LIKE A 5 STAR HOTEL.
I HAVE TO ASK...HOW BIG IS THE TV? AND WHAT STATION DOES IT PLAY?
I MAY JUST PUT MY GOOFY HAT ON AND PRETEND TO BARK!!!
:p

Too cute!!! A bed and Breakfast for dogs! Actually I think it's a great idea. Kennels are just that...kennels.

I feel bad about leaving my cats home! My MIL is taking care of them and I know they are in good hands, but I still miss them! I would love a park that I could take them with me!
