Downpayment for WDW???

Ok, hate to be a bother with probably a dumb questions.
I sent WDW an email, but have not had a response. We are planning our first trip in November, I want to call this week to make reservations. Can we pay it out? or do I just have to give them a credit card number? if we can pay it out, do I make a down payment? and how much? I can't find this information anywhere on the WDW site. Thanks everyone! Ya'll have been such a great help!

If it's a package, the deposit is $200. If it's a room only, the deposit is one night plus tax. Balance on a package is due 45 days prior to arrival, room only balance is due when you check in

and (i am sure about room only, but not about package deals) you do not have to put that deposite on a credit card. if you are calling to book your ressie, you can make the deposite by check in the mail. as long as it gets to them in i think 14 days, your ressie will still stand. if they do not get your deposite in those 14 days, the ressie is cancelled. (note, they do not notify you that they are canceling it - so if you think you paid them, be sure and call and confirm that they have the payment noted on the ressie.)

When I booked my package through WDW I used the on-line reservations and my ATM/Visa. That way it came right out of my account. Every payday I would make a payment toward the balance so it didn't hit me so hard when the 45 days came. The $200 deposit for the package is per person, I believe.

The package deposit is 200.00 per package not per person. We booked 2 rooms for 6 people and paid a 200.00 deposit when we booked.

Thank goodness it's not per person... you would have to come up with $1,200 up front! wowsa!!
