Downloading music /MP3 for ipod shuffle

Where do you download music from beside itunes and amazon? I've never really done song downloads but my daughter has a ipod shuffle that was won in a drawing and she would like some music added to it. She has some specific songs that she likes that we don't have on cd / wouldn't buy the whole cd.

Rhapsody, but they charge you money to "join." My daughter and I download all ours from Amazon. I hate iTunes.

Is there a reason you don't like iTunes or Amazon? I've used both, they're super easy and cheap. I think Wal-Mart used to have downloads, but I never used them.

I use Amazon or Wal-mart.

I have used iTunes and refuse to ever use it again. I detest the program and HATE how it interfaces with my computer. I think it is VERY user-unfriendly, and I hate how difficult it is to move music from one device to another or from one computer to another. I have heard iTunes referred to as the worst "legitimate virus" to plague computers today, and I have to agree.

iTunes is one of the most important reasons I will never own an Apple music device. All of my MP3 players/computers/tablets etc will always be another brand that utilize a simple drag-and-drop system for music storage.

If you have CD you can also copy them to the ipod.

BTW, if there are any other iPod owners out there that hate iTunes, you can download (for free) a program called CopyTrans which is very user friendly, drag-n-drop, syncs without having freakouts that either wipe out everything else on the iPod or make duplicates (or triplicates) of all your songs, etc. You can use it on any device including iPods, iPhones, iPads, etc. My husband downloaded it for me two years ago and I've never gone on that wretched iTunes again.
