Down with the sickness!

Poor ds got the stomach flu just as we landed at MCO. He started throwing up as soon as we pulled away from the airport. Luckily, the cm's at the Poly got us a room right away! DS was sick for 2 days, but by day 3 was well enough to go to MK. I hope on this next trip we will all be healthy! :flower:

We started last years trip off with 13 month old DD waking up with a high fever the evening before we were leaving. I rushed her to the doctor in the morning and she gave me a bunch of medication because she thought it was a sinus infection. She held that fever for 3 days and then after it went away, I still didn't want her to do to much. Therefore....we had a very, very laid back trip - I didn't even get to see the pool one time. Luckily, my 6yr old DD and DH were able to do things when I stayed in the hotel room with the baby.

I've been sick from eating the 'wrong' foods, and while I am pretty hardy, recall about a day and a half of complete blankness in my room at CBR.

Last December I was struggling with recurring pneumonia, which flared up right at the start of my trip. Spent the first two days barely able to get out of bed (offsite) but did get to see Illuminations from my bed at night!

Moved to POR, and ended up extending my stay to a total of 16 nights. I couldn't lie down at night, so sleeping was tough, and every morning when I stood up I would cough for a good 10-20 minutes.

After two days, a room attendant stopped me outside and asked if I was ok since she heard me coughing each morning... Turns out that she wasn't cleaning my section, but was just concerned!! (Very sweet)

Basically I walked around in a bit of a fog for two weeks, since I couldn't catch my breath much. But at least it was 16 days at WDW!!!

We were in Florida early March. The day after Disney DD12 went fishing with DH,DD16 and grandpa.(on land fishing) her not feeling well, they headed home and had to make a pit stop. Back at the condo when I got back,I gave her a half gravel, and Ibro.. A good sleep she thought she was ready for supper. Mother inlaw went all out, baked potatoe, chicken etc.Alls fine. Even headed to the hot tub. I think thats what did it and she didn't even make it back to the condo. Poor thing. That was it with the flu. I don't think she has not had a baked potatoe since. No one else was sick. :Pinkbounc

For three of the last four trips, my DH has gotten sick while we are there. It is like his body just can't take him being on vacation. Year 1 it was some horrible cold. I took my oldest to MK by myself pregnant and had a great time. We sat and ate Mickey bars at 10:00 a.m. and couldn't have been happier. Year 2 DH got sick with some flu thing. By that time, I had a 2 year old and a 7 year old. I took the two of them to MK for the day and we had the greatest time. My oldest would dare to ride things with me that he wouldn't attempt with my DH. We rode more rides that day than any other. Last trip, DH got sick and also put his back out. I took the kids to MK again and we had a great time. My oldest rode Splash Mountain alone for his 8th birthday and loved it! Don't tell DH but I kind of cherish the time alone at the parks with the kids when he is sick. Some of my fondest memories... :rotfl2:
