Wondering if there is a shuttle or other means of transportation form MCO to Down Town Disney. I really hate driving so perfer to not rent a car. Arriving 2 days before cruise so wanted to check down Town out. Would it be really expencive to get a taxi from mco to Down Town.

A taxi would be the only option other than renting a car. I do not believe there are any shuttles that take you from airport to DTD. Where are you staying the 2 nights before the cruise, at the airport hotel?

Edited to add: I just found this on Trip Advisor but it is from 2012 so not sure the info is current:

From Orlando International, you can take LYNX bus 111. Runs every 30 minutes from 5am till 10pm every day. The fare is $2 per person one way - exact fare required. Trip time is about 50 minutes. There are bus stops on Hotel Plaza Blvd (outside the Best Western), at DownTown Disney Marketplace, and behind Cirque Du Soleil (Westside).

I don't believe there's a shuttle direct to DTD. You'd have to either do a taxi, or rental car. Or public bus, but I believe that can take quite a while each direction.

The bus information from trip advisor is a little off. The 111 bus goes to sea world, and you would change to the 50 there. The 50 would take you to downtown Disney. Buses in Orlando are two dollars each way. You would want to give yourself at least an and a half and maybe two hours each way.

The other option you might consider that would be less expensive than a taxi is to take one of the shared shuttles, like SuperShuttle, and asked them to take you to the Hilton in downtown Disney, it's right across the street so you could walk easily.

We came in two days early and actually stayed at a hotel at Downtown Disney. We used FL Tours to do a 3 leg trip. MCO --> Hotel, Hote --> Port, Port --> MCO. Super easy and very cost effective. We also got a grocery stop which was nice. We stayed at the DoubleTree Suites Lake Buena Vista, and that was a mixed bag. But, for the price, I think we would stay there again.

I believe taxi would be insanely expensive. Mco is pretty far from downtown Disney and depending when you go you might hit traffic which would increase taxi price.

Consider staying at Disney resort and taking their transportation? Just a thought

Agree-taxi is outrageous. And I don't believe Uber can pick you up at the airport which takes out that option. Renting car is the best way to do it. Otherwise, considering staying at WDW instead of staying at the Hyatt. You don't have to go into parks. But you could take advantage of magical express to get to resort, book transfer from the resort (instead of the hyatt), enjoy the pool at the resort, and take disney transport to DTD.
