working on my touring plans and noticed i have a couple hours to kill. if we decide not to leave the park for an afternoon break, any suggestions for places to relax around the park?

Everywhere! Epcot is an excellent place to relax. Get a drink or snack and find a bench anywhere in world showcase and people watch.

Many of the countries have great places for lounging about or you could hang out in The Seas building and watch the fish, something my kids like to do.

We stroll World Showcase, stopping for snacks and drinks and resting on shady benches. The England Pavilion has seating near the Rose and Crown that looks out over the water. The American Pavilion had a pretty sunroom with lots of tables and I think its air conditioned.

If you have kids, let them play Agent P's Adventure. Our group's 2 9 year olds loved running around playing the game and the adults got to sit and relax.

Ditto to all that has been said by the PP's....Any country will have Perfect spots for people watching, ( some better than others) but all very good. Pop in to some of the bldg's any enhance/immerse yourself into the different cultures.

Innoventions is a great way to get out of the sun, and in to some AC.

You can also explore the Boardwalk which is just a short walk outside of the International Gateway by France/uk

Sounds like a good plan! I would definitely recommend staying inside the park, Epcot being one of the most spacious parks at WDW with ample walkways and many "hidden gems" has TONS of great areas to sit and relax. Here are some of my recommendations and "quiet spot" ideas:

- Bakery in France (Both indoor and outdoor seating, note that sometimes this area can get crowded after the Impressions de France film gets out)
- France Gardens (Outdoor garden area located to the right of the perfume shop with views of the International Gateway canal)
- Waterfalls at Canada (There are beautiful outdoor areas with benches just outside of the entrance to O Canada attraction)
- Japanese Gardens (Outdoor Zen Gardens and Ponds between Katsura Grill and the large Pagoda)
- English Gardens (Plaza in front of the Paul McKenna Band stage, note that this area is quiet only when there are no shows playing on the stage)
- Indoor Breezeway on the East side of Future World (Indoor air conditioned area behind Starbucks and Club Cool)
- Outdoor garden area in front of Ellens Energy Adventure (quiet benches in front of former Wonders of Life Pavilion)

Hope this helps!

I love getting a cold tea, and sitting near the water garden next to the Katsura Grill.

Also, the benches on the walkway along the right side of the water garden in China are a wonderful place to sit and relax.

There are some tables and chairs at the African Outpost that are nice to relax at, as well as the gardens in the back of the UK pavilion.

I agree with ellen's universe of energy, and the american adventure. also the movie in france you can sit down and enjoy the air conditioning and snooze. the movies in canada and china you have to stand.
the land pavillion, after soarin' you can rest on the boat ride (living with the land) and after that there is a snooze fest movie the circle of life" (ok, it's cute. just trying to answer the OPs question! lol

We really enjoy getting a pastry and drink either cold or warm (latté etc) from Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles and sitting outside in the outdoor seating area. the walkway there always seems quite peaceful.

Epcot is probably the most easiest park to find a spot to relax in!

Morrocco has a wonderful counterservice with plenty of seating all shaded,
also in Morrocco they have some wonderfully shaded spots with marble benches to sit on!

UK has the garden areas at the back of the pavillion, if its the afternoon its a great place to sit once the sun has opassed overhead,

the american pavillion has some nice benches out of the sun also near restrooms and counterservices to get drinks and supplies for your rest!

the american adventure theatre is a wonderful show in comfy chair with aircon!
also the theatre show building has some nice benches and the voices of liberty perform and they are wonderful again its all aircon out the sun great place to relax.

not sure if its open all year round but epcot has the chase lounge for card holders i believe in te american adventure building on the top floor.

france has a nice indoor quick service with seating to sit and grab a drink and some snacks.

innovations indoors out the sun! not much seating but if you have kids they can be entertained.

the land pavillion has a wonderful quick service serving asian foods which is amazin!
i always choose here to relax at epcot!
