Down-grading Room @ HOJO w/ ET Rate?

So right now, we have a NQQ1 Premium Disney View Room at HOJO booked, and while I was really excited about the room, I started thinking that I might down-grade to a NQQ3 Standard.

I know that we will not have a microwave, (which we wouldn't use anyways), and will lose the view (which we really wouldn't need either, since we will be in the park most of the time).

Any other differences that I am not considering?

I had our room booked w/ the ET rate, and now a few of those dates have closed. Does anyone know if I can keep the ET rate for the existing days and just transfer that to different room even though those dates have closed? :confused3 (If that made any sense at all... man I am even confusing myself).

I just figured that I would save quite a bit of money that I could put towards quite a few churros! :laughing:popcorn::

The NQQ3 will be facing the highway, so it will probably be noisier.

I thought the NQQ1 is supposed to have nicer pillow top bed, though weve never stayed in one. We have liked the NQQ3 just fine.

Why not split the difference and request a deluxe NQQ2 room which are my favorite. They are in building 2, which are very quiet rooms, they face the pool area and have the new beds and a fridge and microwave. It's just one step cheaper than the premiums.

You'd have to call and see if you could still get the ET rate for that room type.

I have booked an NQQ3 room for November. We are staying 8 nts, and the $160 dollar difference will indeed buy a lot of churros, (or dole whips in my case). I know the will be noisier, but we are not sensitive to noise, and it is my experience that we are so tired when in Disney that it does not matter. Plus, I always take ear plugs in case someone in the room decides to snore loudly :o)

So unless you are sensitive to noise, I would call them and see about changing room types. I do not know if they will honor the ET rate if it is not available anymore with a room type change. There is only one way to find out for sure. They are so nice.

I'm not sure about the transfer process, you will need to call.

I can tell you that in February we stayed in a NQQ3 and I really liked it. I could hear the noise the first night only, probably because I was too excited to sleep. But there is a fan you can turn on to mask the sound of the freeway, and after all day in the parks you are so tired nothing will keep you awake.

We have also stayed in NQQ2 in building 2...which are nice as well. But, we like you do not use the microwave, just the fridge.

If I was on a budget I would pick NQQ3.

And just an FYI ALL these rooms have the pillow top mattresses now...not just the NQQ1. And they are very, very comfy.

Good luck and have a great trip.

I am really not concerned about the noise. Two trips ago, we stayed in the Quality Inn, on Manchester (just around the corner from HOJOs, which is just as close to the freeway and we didn't hear a thing! Besides we are all pretty heavy sleepers when we are at DLR.

And as far as budget goes, its not that we can't afford it, I just think that I would rather use that money for something else. We are so used to staying at the super-cheap places, and this time around we thought we might get a nicer room at HOJOs, (stayed at Anaheim Plaza last time, Quality Inn the time before that, many others before that.....)

And plus, it's not helping that our living room window just cracked and we had to pay $300 bucks to replace it (with only two weeks left until we leave).

when we stayed in mach this yr we had the 59.99 rooms and they were in building 6 closest to harbor blvd really liked the room and no noise.

I hear you....we can afford to stay at the on-site hotels too...but would rather use our money for something else. We typically don't use our room for much more than just sleeping and taking showers.

NQQ3 are nice rooms regardless of the money. I don't think you will regret it.
