Anyone find inexpensive Dover transportation? We are taking DCL transfer to the port, but would like to take private transportation back into London after the cruise. Quote I got for private transportation for 4 people was 245 pounds.

How about a train or bus? I have done both in Englad and as long as you pack light it is very inexpensive.

Note thread on Dover and London issues as we have some Tube strikes 9/10 July and there maybe more and rail strikes Southern (light green above),from 10th. (Overtime ban then strike 12th)

That's what we were quoted. We feel that it's our best solution since our flight leaves at 2.

Just looked at Premier in Folkstones rates easy to find on their website and if you go down to airports, then seems cheaper. depends on the vehicle.

Thanks so much for the information, Disney Fantasy! We are trying to figure out transportation logistics with two little ones who still require car seats. This is extremely helpful. :)

I hope you and your little ones have a fantastic cruise, I am sorry on behalf of the UK that we have some issues at this time A tube strike scheduled and some train issue and border control at Dover. There is time for all of these to be resolved.

The good news we are in a heatwave, if you have been watching Wimbledon you would have seen.

Have a Magical cruise.

Yes, we have arranged a private transfer to pick us up.

Not taking any chances to have to wait for a taxi, shuttle or train especially with the strike.

Great idea, 'if' its still on then, they will be in demand, better pre book to ensure you have it.

Next year, we would like to go to the Normandy WWII sites. EBTA ends in Dover. How do we start to plan that trip?

I would search for flights first.

Then, I would search on the forum for those who have done it before.

Personally, I would take the Eurostar.

Then, hire a private tour to take us.

But, alwaya start with a realistic budget.

That will make your trip more financially more manageable.

Hope this helps.

I would agree Eurostar train from Ashford international. You can only book this three months in advance.
