Dover premier inn

Hi,

what is the best Premier Inn to stay in at Dover port. We are off on the Norwegian Fjord cruise in August!!!!

I have booked this one for my September 2020 cruise. I booked the room and meal plan, which is a double room, evening meal on arrival day and breakfast the next morning. It cost me £67 and I booked in November , its just me a solo traveler, not sure if that makes a difference.

We stayed at Dover central this past summer and it was great. We could see the ship out front and it was a short walk to a great pub we had dinner at. We did have to take a taxi to port and we booked it in advance, which I highly recommend.

We stayed in Canterbury the night before our cruise. It was a short train ride from Canterbury to Dover and DCL had transfers at the train station to the ship, ($10/person)

The Premier Inn Dover Central (East Ferry Terminal) is about a 10 minute taxi ride to the Cruise Terminal. The front desk staff here were behind helpful, including pre-booking a taxi for us. They held out luggage as well on the cruise morning. Our main reason for staying here the night before our cruise was to be able to walk to Dover Castle. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, and we were trying to see the castle before we set sail on our cruise.

The rooms are very small, very basic, and do not include Air Conditioning. (It's not usually that hot there apparently). They did include a small in room fan. If you have traveled to Asian, the rooms were bigger then a standard Japanese hotel room, but only by a bit. Think NYC room size, with a smaller bed. The beds are close to an American Queen size.

If we just needed a place to sleep the night before a cruise I wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

There are two other Premier Inn's in Dover, I haven't stayed at either of those, and both were further from Dover Castle and the Cruise Terminal so we ruled them out.

We have booked this hotel and like the OP are sailing on the Magic in 30th August. Its our first cruise and very excited!
I've stayed at a few premier inns now, and they are all basic but clean and comfy. The meal deal is a great offer and we've really enjoyed it at the airport PIs when we've stayed there.
