doubletree hotel at the entrance of universal

hi my name is Daniel Diez and Im going to be staying at the doubletree hotel at the entrance of universal. I just wanted to know if anyone has been there and

1. How far is it from the theme parks?
2. How nice are the rooms?
3. How good is the food at the restaurants?
4. How are the extras at the hotel like the gym and pool?

Hi there - we stayed there last October while they were still doing renovations to all the rooms. It's a very nice hotel. They were upgrading all the rooms when we were there - new mattresses on the beds, painting, etc. So I'm sure it's even nicer now. The pool is a good size and a very nice resort type in pretty surroundings. We didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't help you there. The hotel is right across the street from Universal. You could walk there but you would have to cross a very busy highway (there is a light though). I guess it would take about 10-15 minutes to walk. You might want to consider parking to save the walking for the parks. Have a great vacation!
