Just booked a quick trip over Easter for me, DH, and DD 3. Booked Buena Vista Suites this morning for $388 for three nights and now can get Double Tree Suites at DTD for $89 a night (includes parking) which brings the total to $296 with tax. Now I'm wondering which reservation to keep! We know where BVS is because it's on the route we usually take to get to Port Orleans from MCO. The suites look amazing with queen beds and pull out couch, it includes a full b-fast, and has a high rating and nice facilities. DTS is closer to DTD, where we want to spend time, includes a fridge and microwave (nice perks, not necessarily necessary;), has double beds and pull out couch. Never having stayed at either, I'm just going by pics and reviews.

Anyone stayed at either and have pros/cons? We're using a rental car and only going to DTD, maybe one of the water parks, one b-fast and dinner at one of the resorts and cocoa beach. Surprising DD!:)

Subscribing ....... I have been looking for someone who has stayed at Lake Buena Vista Suites.

Hey! I just booked Buena Vista Suites for my family. I went to mousesavers.com and they had a promo code for it. I paid $89-99 a night depending on the date. So for 8 nights I'm paying around $720. Plus if you use the mousesavers promo you get free internet, parking, breakfast and a $25-50 disney gift card depending on your length of stay. If you go to the website look under their preferred DW hotels. I beleive the code is MOU but you have to call to gat the rate. Good luck I hope this helps!

I stayed at Doubletree this past summer before accommodations became available on Disney property and I LOVED IT!!!! It was very clean, the staff was so amazing and helpful. They have funny locking devices on the doors and I didn't know how to work them and the engineer came to the room 3 different times and checked it and finally came back when I was in the room to show me how it worked. So needless to say, they were wonderful.

I am thinking of planning a spur of the moment trip for Easter weekend and am looking at staying at the Doubletree again.

Oh and Doubletree is 3 or 4 hotels down from the Hilton that is right across from DTD.

Danis814- did you feel that there was enough privacy/quiet hen you closed the doors to the bedroom suite part? We have a DD 3 and would like to be able to put her to bed and then unwind and watch some tv in the living room part of the room. Also, did you guys sleep on the pull out couch and if so, how comfy was it? THANKS!

I would check mousesavers for a code for both hotels to get cheaper.

Hi,

Yes I felt that there was enough privacy/quiet. There were closet style slated doors between the two rooms not like a thick wood door, but I thought that it separated the two rooms and the others could still sleep in the other room. We didn't use the pull out couch at this Doubletree so I am not sure how it is.

It was really a lot of space compared to WDW Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans French Quarter.

I really enjoyed myself at Doubletree and was pleasantly surprised to have such an enjoyable stay there at such a great price. I am planning a last minute trip for next week through the 1st and I am planning on booking the Doubletree.

I would like to go to Universal too this time, but I don't know how that would work or how to get there from DTD whether to take a cab or what and how much it costs. So if you have any info on that it would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading the boards, but I haven't found the info I need yet.

Hope my info helps,
Dani

I would have pm'd you back but I don't have enough posts yet lol sorry :-)

We've stayed at Buena Vista Suites and would stay again. The breakfast was very good (my dh keeps suggesting we go back to the place with the breakfast), the room plenty spacious. With our family of 5 we didn't expect parental privacy in a suite that sleeps 6- and the "bedroom" portion of our room had two queen beds. Not exactly a setup for privacy. But it was much more comfortable than Port Orleans Riverside as far as size.

Our only challenge there was that when arriving back to the hotel in the evening it was difficult to find parking. We did find a space in the back and saw signs to an additional lot, but I have no idea where it was exactly. Very quick drive into WDW.

Thanks for the info so far! Unfortunately, all anyone has to say is good things about both! I'm just gonna have to man up and pick one in the next week and try the other another time! LOL!

I have only stayed at Doubletree Suites but have stayed there twice both for three nights each and LOVED it! The rooms are large and so nice. They have laundry on the top floor which was very convenient. You can also see the fireworks -from the hallway. We would definitely return.

I've only stayed at the Double Tree, and we've had great experiences. I think the beds are some of the most comfortable I've slept in.

We have been to Disney about 20 times, own DVC and AP's, and have stayed in every hotel except the GF and YC onsite. In December we decided to take a fairly last minute long weekend trip and everything onsite was booked. I was able to get the BVS for $500 all in for our 4 nights. Needless to say I was a bit nervous at staying offsite after so many trips onsite.

It was really, really nice. Clean and well maintained. The breakfast was a fantastic plus for us and saved a ton of money. Hot and fresh. Certainly not a gourmet breakfast by any means, but decent selection and really nice and large breakfast room with tons of tables. Location is fantastic. You barely hit any traffic going into Disney property and it is a really quick drive in (that would be my only concern with Doubletree...the traffic around DTD can be horrendous). We actually thought it was easier to get to than some of the disney resorts we have stayed at.

We usually stay in a 1 bedroom DVC villa, so we thought the rooms were a tad cramped. But compared to a Disney value/moderate they are pretty roomy. The beds were super comfortable. We actually liked the 2 queens because my mom travels with us so she slept in the living room area. DS5 had a bed and DH and I shared one. There was a decent door between the two areas.

We normally arrive later on our first day so we usually just stay at a value or mod (booking 2 rooms) that first night before checking into our DVC resort. But with the great prices, location, and breakfast at BVS we now plan on using them instead for that first night or two (unless we get a fantastic AP rate onsite) as we prefer suite accomodations for our family. Highly recommend BVS.
