Anyone? I am looking at a schwinn model. We have a great tandem double but I really need something for walking trails, exercising, etc. Cost is an issue, or Id look more into the BOB models or the Mountain Buggy's. I need to keep it around $200. I am always seeing great posts here about strollers so im hoping one of you mommy's are like me and like to stay active despite towing around two smallish humans!

TIA!
Cari from Indiana

ETA: I liked the schwinn because it had a suspension system and from wheel could swivel or be locked and it had a small under basket.

I recently replaced my Baby Trend Expidition double jogger with an INSTEP SAFARI TT DELUXE DOUBLE SWIVEL JOGGING STROLLER. I got a good deal, around $140 on EBAY, and I love it! Besides the obvious front swivel wheel, the only other difference I have found is that there is no parent tray on the Instep. No problem, I bought one on joggingstrollers dot com. We've been on walks all over the neighborhood, zoos and parks and it's very easy to maneuver with my DS 2 1/2 & DS 1 -- I love it! It is a bit heavy, but aren't they all? There is one smallish basket under each seat and the front wheel can swivel or lock in place. I hope this helps!

Why not look for a used Mountain Buggy on eBay or one of the stroller message boards? We just got a 2004 MBUD and I wish I had bought one 2 years ago, even if I'd had to pay full retail for a new one. I love it that much!

Hi I have the schwinn stroller you are talking about> I sold my older double jogger that didn't have a swivel wheel, I take this stoller everywhere, malls food shopping ect it's great. I leave it in my vans, it folds easily. My only complaint is the underneather storage, it's hard to get to. I leave for disney on Monday, I'm not taking this stroller, I'm taking my older 12 years old to be exact graco double front and back stoller, the front seet folds all the way down into the 2nd seet and the 2nd seat folds all the way back making a really big bed, 3 kids can fit in then, with the jogger the seats recline but not all the way and they can't sleep on belly if they want if you want any more info let me know good luck Jill

We got this one before our trip in 2004. I love it! I crunched the numbers and it was cheaper to buy this, than rent a stroller from Disney. Our girls were 7 and 3 then, it was a life saver. And you would never have guessed that there was "that much kid" (lol) in the stroller. Very easy to push! We are definatly taking it back with us in Sept. We gate checked it on the plane with no problems. It is a little heavy to lift onto the buses, but we only did that 2 times a day and the rest of the time it was soooo worth it!

HTH!

This may be a silly question based on the last post, but are jogging strollers allowed in the parks? I did a Yahoo search on a specific type of double jogger, and the results gave me a DISboard post from 2002, that stated that joggers weren't allowed. I am in the market for one because we have a four year old at 44lbs and a 1yr old. The joggers seem to hold the most weight, so that's where I was looking toward... I just got scared when I saw that DIS post. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can bring joggers to the parks. I just came back and I ran like crazy all over WDW with that double jogger. My dd is 6 and ds is 5 and they collectively weigh about 80 pounds and we did great. The instep safari stroller is around $200 new on amazon.com through babiesrus. It is a great stroller...provided a luggage truck doesn't run it over! I recommend gate checking it and not sending it through with the rest of your luggage. I am just grateful that happened on the way home!

The problem was jogging strollers with one very large wheel in the front and, specifically those with a non-swiveling front wheel.
Most of the jogging strollers that were around in the late 1990s and early 2000s had a front tire that was nearly as big as the side tires, the front tire didn't swivel and stuck out much more than the newer ones do.

I have this same stroller and love it! I did a lot of online research for double strollers before purchasing it and realized it was a great option for the money. I purchased the BOB parent tray for double strollers (I think from joggingstrollers.com for about $25), which works great - I can put my camera, keys, sunglasses in the center pouch and there are 2 cup holders, which are work great for water bottles, baby bottles or soda cups. I think I bought mine new for about $170 a year-and-a-half ago. We use it constantly and it is holding up great! I especially like the swivel wheel in the front - it makes it soooo much easier to manueuver.
