We are WDW veterans celebrating our 20th anniversary and taking our adopted twins :earsboy: :earsgirl: , now seven, to WDW for the first time in October. As you can imagine, we are pretty excited because our children were fairly recently malnourished and living in horrible conditions in a Russian orphanage, and now we get to give them The World. Our lodging reservations are at WL. We have a couple of character meals reserved (Norway for DD and Contemporary fo DS) and a couple of other meal reservations as well. We are skipping V & As in favor of more kid friendly places.

Any advice on what to do or what I might want to reserve to celebrate one or both occasions? I'd especially like to do something for DH because we had always planned to go back to the Caymans (where we spent our honeymoon) for our 20th, but he suggested for WDW because of the kids. I thought it was pretty romantic of him. :lovestruc Thanks in advance for your great ideas and suggestions.

What a great way to celebrate both occasions!!

For anniversary you could order a mini wedding cake and have it delivered to your table.....I'm not sure how to do this but I am sure someone will be along shortly with that info!!

Maybe for the celebration of their first trip make shirts announcing it's your first trip as a family to the world. :confused3 Depending on their adjustment level it may be easier on them to meet the characters through meals rather than having to wait in lines to meet them.

Your DH sounds like a sweetheart and your forever family is going to enjoy the World!! :grouphug:

Maybe you could rent a boat to watch illuminations, and get a cake from the bakery at the boardwalk to eat on board? I have never done this but always thought it sounded cool!

Upon check-in, notify the CM on your special occasion. They offer different items, i.e. autographed photos, specialty certificates, balloons, cakes. for different occasions. Good luck with your new family.

Thank you so much for your suggestions! The little extras will make it all the more fun for me, and given that we still don't know about our house (thanks, Katrina :umbrella: ) the trip will be a great respite for all of us!
