Dorky Disney Cruisers, 11/22-26/06,Anyone else with us???

Hi yogibigdog,

We are flying with Delta too!!! Actuallyflying Delta just coming home. My fingers are crossed.

Where did you find the Hyatt for a rate of $149.00 plus tax? That is an excellent rate!!

We are flying in on Sunday, & staying at the Vistana, & leaving early Wed morn for the port.

I booked a year ago for all 18 of us, & requested early seating. I think the ship is filling up

Can't wait.

Patricia

Anyone else get there airfare yet?

Got the Hyatt rate from a Travel Agent.
Yes, the ship is filling up. I think cat 7 and up are all showing booked now. When you check the DCL website cat 5 show up but when you click on it - it states no longer available.
I am surprised this thread in not bigger.

Hi-

I just booked this cruise! It's just going to be a grown-up trip  . It will also be our first Disney Cruise. We have the med repo booked for next year for the whole family. I decided to surprise my husband and plan a Thanksgiving getaway. He thinks we're staying at the Yacht Club.

Anyway--can't wait to join you!

I wish someone would surpise me like that! Do you think you will be able to keep it a surpise?

I have to laugh..I told him already. I really can't keep a secret.

He was thrilled, luckily.

We're staying at the Hyatt the night before also!

Let the planning begin.....

Just curious are you taking the Disney bus to the port or are you doing you own transportation from the Hyatt?

If I had a secret like that it would probably last about 10 minutes. I would be so excited I would end up telling him. I am glad he was thrilled! How did you manage not to take the kids? Do they you are going?

ummm, no, the kids don't know. They do know we're going next year and they're excited about that. They know we're planning a Thanksgiving weekend without them. I'll buy them a reallly good guilt-ridden souvenier.

We've never ran away from home before. We promise to come home.

Right now, I'm thinking to take the Disney bus to the port and rent a car on the return. Our flight leaves late on Sunday.

Where are you in Mass?

Joanne

Hi! I will be on this cruise, too. It will be my 3rd Thanksgiving DCL cruise (5th overall). The cast of characters: Me, DH, DS (who will be 2), my Mom, and her fiance'. Can't wait!

How is everyone doing with there airline tickets? I bought ours 330 days and got a great fare (had to book one way NS RT tickets, lot's of work) My family laughed at me, for booking so early, but looking at the rates now, Phew.......Glad I did.

When is everyone coming & staying? We coming in on Sunday are staying at the Vistana Resort. We just love this place, especially the kids. There will be 18 of us 5 are childeren. We are all renting cars.(4 famlies)

We are going to Disney on Monday & Tuesday, & Hoopey Doo on Tuesday night.

I just can't wait. It is my DH first cruise. I plan on Lobster for Thanksgiving.

How about everyone else?

Patricia

We will be going on the Thanksgiving Wonder. We were going to fly in on Monday, but then thought, "Why waste a weekend sitting at home?" So, we are now leaving on Saturday, spending 2 nights at AKL, then 2 nights at Cocoa Beach, then 4 on the Wonder, followed by another 7 at WDW. My son will be missing one week of school, but I will keep him up. My son is 13, by the way, and very nervous about the teen club. He's more for the 10-12 group, since he will just have turned 13 and is young for his age. But, he will hang with us and love the arcade.

Does anyone know if Thanksgiving will be dress-up or formal?

I'm not sure if it's formal or not. I'm just hoping to have Tritons or Animators for thanksgiving. We have the air and the pre-cruise hotel booked. We even told the kids. They were great about it. It will be a romantic trip for the two of us and a chance to see the ship. We've never cruised Disney before. I think the kids would have been upset if they didn't already know about the med cruise next year. They've also been with us twice this year to DW.

It will be nice to meet all of you.

So excited to see so many people with be celebrating Turkey Day with us!!!
Just booked the airfare and Tuesday night at the Radisson...anyone else staying there??? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

DisTeach1, you can request that he be in the 10-12 year old group, did that last year with my nephew. He just turned 13, & we put in him in the 10-12 he did just fine. My DD just turned 12, & she will be in this group also. How lucky that you are staying so long.

Hi Shelly25, My DMIL, & DSIL both have time share at the Sheridan Vistana, so we all will be staying there. I usually always stay at the Radisson before my cruise. Next door to the Radisson, is a great Italian restaurant. Great prices too. Make sure you call the Radisson, & reserve the bus, to the port.
Shelly25, are you flying out of EWR? or LGA. Are you flying CO? Half my family is flying out on Tues 11/21 from EWR. How did you do with airfare?

I just ordered my DCL passporter, now I'm all set.

Can't wait

Hi Patricia!! Used miles for the airfare...going out of EWR on CO on Tuesday morning. The airfares were very high we almost went Jetblue but decided to use the miles instead..how about you?? What time are you getting to the ship on Wednesday morning??

Good morning everyone;

Yes I am a Disney Cruise line vergin however WDW is a familliar place to me. 15 times since 1984 so I know the Disney way. I will be travelling on this cruise for my honeymoon after my fiance and I get married in the Dominican the week before. We are very excited and although it is 3 months away we are already gettin packed.

I am looking for some info on the shore excursions which ones are good, bad, worth it not worth it. I am hoping that some one cold provide me with some advice to which we should do.

I am also wondering if there are any tips or hints that we should know as a first time crusier. We are registering for our Palo dinner and excursions online as soon as we can and I have been reading a lot of reviews and doing a lot of research but would love to get any feedback what so ever.

Thanks

BML

BML Mickey, my advice is either to buy the passporter, or go to the libary & reserve one. It is great & just about fills you in on everything

Try this also

I printed my out, it was great

Hi shelleyr25,

I will be on the boat hopefully when the port opens. LOL I start my vacation as soon as we board the ship.

Yesterday we were out on my husband's boat in NY. Across from the Statue of Liberty we saw Celebrity Cruise ship. It seems to me, that it needs to be cleaned or painted. It wasn't sparkling like Disney.

I am so......excited & can't wait for our cruise.

Hi all - I just found this thread and wanted to join in. We are looking forward to the 11/22/06 cruise and will be a party of 9. Our party consists of our family (South Florida) of 4 (plus a girlfriend) and my brother's family of 4 from Colorado. Kids ages range from 13 to 22.
This will be our 10th Disney cruise with 3 of them in November and December. In all 3 of our cruises durring that time, the weather was just super. Cool mornings/evenings and nice days. In looking at our pics, the sky was clear and the sun warm without being hot. Another good thing about that time of year is that we're done with hurricanes !!!!!
A really neat part of this cruise is that my brother's kids (13 and 15, both girls) do not know about the cruise. They think they are coming to South Florida to visit Uncle Randy for 10 days. We have concocted an elaborate ruse for all of us drive up to visit another family member's house for a couple of days over Thanksgiving. If sucsessful, they won't know what's in store until they see the ship with there own eyes. Can you imagine a surprise when they see the Wonder as the car goes over that last tall bridge!!!!
Anyway, let's try to keep the thread going and find other fellow cruisers to join in.
Randy

quick question - would this thread do better in the "Cruise Line Forum" instead of the "Cruise Meets"?
