That Lion King show was pretty bad! No one seemed to be "into" it and they were singing really off-key. I'm interested to see if I love it again in February, or if your negativity has rubbed of on me. ;)

I didn't know a Wish family was in front of you to see Minnie. How cool! Yes, that line didn't look too long, but it sure did take a LOOONG time.

Awww..that's so sweet that Brian said "Tessa IS family."

You looked adorable in your "Ode to Snow White" outfit! I'm glad you didn't let the naysayers deter you from your mission.

Oh my gosh, I didn't know someone took a picture of your outfit!! How cool!

Sawyer did okay at "It's Tough to be a Bug" because he was outside with Henry! :lmao:

I'm glad you included the gigantic plant. I kept expecting it to say "Feed me Seymore".

This Pocahontas thing seems to be a theme with our husbands....

I WANT THAT PLACEMAT!!!! How cool!!!!

Lost forever like Uncle David- teeheehee

Yeah, you scanned your finger and were in like Flin. But, I'm sure I had to argue with a CM because my finger scan didn't work, or they thought Henry should scan his finger for my ticket, or something...

I'm laughing so hard at that decorated picture of Arminda again. :lmao::rotfl:

Disney rip-off S'More. :lmao: EW! Was it like Hershey's syrup on top? I hate that stuff! It tastes like burnt chocolate!

You're so sweet thinking of buying those kids a Mickey bar.

What's up with our husbands NOT ordering ice cream at the little frozen food carts? Is the frozen banana dipped in chocolate, or is it just a frozen banana??

Brian caught a big 'ol fish! I wish it would have been a bass, so I could say he caught you a delicious bass.

Oh I remember what else! The rotting flesh plant!

Megan and I just read about it in one of her magazines. The little birds love it because when it blooms it smells so bad the bugs really think it's rotting meat. So all the little birds come and swoop up the bugs. Isn't that gross?

When Megan comes home from school I'll have to show her!

I know, I keep laughing everytime I see it too!!!

Yeah, Hersehey's syrup! I think there might have been actual chocolate in there too, but with the syrup on top, who could taste good chocolate? I don't mine the Hershey's too much on ice cream, but that's it!

We married a couple of wackos, that's all I can figure! Ok, the banana WAS covered in chocolate, but what a horrible waste of chocolate!

:goodvibes :thanks: Great Update! Wow it was long !

Thanks for reading! :thumbsup2

What a long and fun day! I love all of the pics! Cute outfit Teresa!!! :goodvibes

Thanks Cathy! It was fun!
Great update Snow White...I mean Teresa.

Oh, you are funny!!! :rotfl:

Oh, that was too long, I can't remember everything I wanted to comment on (sniff).

I'll try...

Poor Brian missing Pocahontas! Tom feels his pain!

And poor Brian again, insisting that Tessa be in the picture and then his eyes are closed! I laughed about that one.

The first time we went to the Lion King show Jacob was a baby and it was a disaster! He freaked out and I had to make a quick exit. Now the kids love it, I am middling between meh and great! I like it, but I don't love it.

Poor Arminda, losing you and being all by herself on her own. I'm glad she was ok.

Lydia looks especially beautiful in the pictures. I can't remember which one, but Brian better watch out in a few years!

Oh! I am happy you got compliments on your homemade snow white outfit. I thought it was very resourceful.

I can't remember what else. Great update!

Once I posted it, I realized I had put the picture up of Brian with his eyes shut, but I was to lazy to change the pictures! Good thing I didn't, since it gave you a laugh!!!

So, do you think I should give that Lion King show a FOURTH chance to Wow me, or should I just give up?

Oh, I forgot to mention in my trip report, that my all time most favorite Disney show EVER! was Tarzan and then they went and replaced it with that NEMO show! I hold a lot of resentment towards that Nemo show now! I don't care for it, but that could be because I still mourn Tarzan!

I felt SO bad for Arminda! She is a bit scatter brained at times, so I should have been more careful to make sure she was with us. Poor baby, I still feel bad about that. I would have gotten mad at her, if she hadn't started crying though!

I hate to say it, but I agree, Lydia is just gorgeous! I had to take her to school today, and as I was walking her in, the principal told me, "You have the most gorgeous girls!" Then she laughed about how funny Arminda was being. We were running late, so Arminda was trying to walk as fast as she could without walking TOO fast and getting in trouble! So, it made a funny site!

Poor Brian and no Pocahontas. He has seen her before though, so shouldn't that be good enough?

EEEWWWWW!!!! It's cool though that Megan and you just read about it though! It is SOOOO big, I can't imagine how much that must smell when it blooms!

No one knew where it was, even though I gave them excellent directions, "Turn left at the first road and it's right by the giant dinosaur and pond." Come on, WHO could get lost with excellent directions like that????

I gave my brother that exact description of where PTC is. His response? "There's a dinosaur that has ice cream?" :lmao:
glad you enjoyed PTC.

Werid, when we went to the 50s Prime Time Cafe in 2006, the Smores dessert was a GIANT plate of smore-like deliciousness. It was a full sized plate covered with graham crackers, then marshmallows toasted, then chocolate syrup. Soooo good. How sad that it's been downsized.

And it was probably good that you didn't buy the kids ice cream bars. My kids both had dairy allergies when they were younger. You just never know! I would have had to say no if someone offered my kids ice cream, and that would have been worse than just not getting it in the first place, you know? THankfully, both my kids have outgrown it and we would happily accept Mickey Bars from strangers! :thumbsup2

What a fun TR! I just adore that minnie dress!

I love all those family photos aren't they the best?!?!?!?

Your report is getting me so excited about our trip! Under 2 months!!!!

Okay...that was the funniest chapter so far! You were killing me!:lmao:

Did you have an extra cup of coffee before you wrote this one?:rotfl:

I really don't care for the chocolate syrup, so I think that just turned me off of the whole thing too. Not that I didn't eat it!

If I did do the ice cream, my plan was to go to the Dad and discreetly ask him if the kids could have the ice cream, without them hearing me. I was just too afraid he'd think I was a nut!

I ALWAYS have an extra cup of coffee! :thumbsup2 Glad you are liking the TR!

so i admit i dont like the lion king show either. i just dont get it. i like nemo, i loved tarzan, but lion king not so much. i just keep checking my watch, luckily i am the brazen leader all the time, and override everyone elses preferences so nobody realized that i skipped right over it. it could have been because they were exhausted after following tourguide mikes plans for so many days in a row:rolleyes1

Yes! Someone else! It is dark, and if there were backs on the benches, it might be a nice place for a nap!

I really miss that Tarzan show!

But,

A Wish family had just come up, so the CM came over to us and nicely asked us if we minded waiting while the Wish family had their turn with Minnie. Of course we said we were fine with that!

It was really sweet, the Wish child, a young lady, was SOOO excited to see Minnie!!! They kept getting her to look at the camera for the pictures, but she wouldn't take her eyes off of Minnie Mouse!!! It was incredibly sweet!!

Ok...this totally made me cry! You were so sweet...waiting forever to see Minnie (the girls had time to play Hide-and-Seek!!)... and you were so sweet to let the Wish family ahead of you guys. I keep hearing they do that...but I can't imagine. I think we are going to feel bad cutting in line like that! (You had time to play Hide-and-Seek!?!?!?!) Oh my.

But...I have to say...I am sitting here listening to Lauren and her mom talk about getting all of her homework done - urgh, High School! (she works SOOOO hard and it takes her so much LONGER than her classmates to finish it and dealing with everything else she has to deal with) I guess she (and her family) really need a trip like that...with relatively little hassle. Since everything else in their world can certainly be a major hassle!

Anyway...enough venting!

I am totally enjoying your TR! I caught HeatherSue's first...don't know how, since I KNEW you first, but I did (sorry) :rolleyes1. So I am catching up on yours now. The report is awesome...but...I am done...at the END...and I need more!!!!!!!!!!! (Ok...I am an addict...it is official...does the DIS board have a 12 step program?) :surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:

Mary, it was such a joy to see that family interacting with Minnie Mouse! We were all HAPPY to let them go ahead of us. You guys don't feel bad about that at all!

I can't wait to read your trip report! I hope you have such a wonderful time!

And, Heather and I are practically the same person, so it's ok you read her report first!! :rotfl2:

And, since you asked so nicely, just for you I will now post my next chapter. It's a short one, not many picutres, and a bit slow, but it's an update!

Brian and Corey were up and around quite early so they would make it over to Titusville in plenty of time to do way too much fishing! They were meeting Brian's friend from Michigan Tech, Ken. Ken was our best man for our wedding:
5.jpg

He's the blonde standing next to Brian. Heathersue was my maid of honor and is in the maroon dress next to me. Isn't she cute! Brian was also the best man in Ken's first wedding.....

Brian tries to see Ken every year when we go to Flordia. Sometimes they go somewhere that I can come along, but many times they just go in a canoe, and I'm just not going to go in a canoe in alligator infested waters!

Ken works in this building:

He drives that blue truck with the canoe rack on the roof. See it?

Me either.

He does something with the external tank on the shuttle.

I Brian and Corey good-bye and waved them a fond farewell

and then went back into the timeshare to figure out what I was going to do with the girls all day with no car.

5.gif

Then, the phone rang.
3.gif

It was my Mom, asking what I'd like to do today. She said they'd come and pick me up and we could go wherever I wanted.

So, I thought about it for a minute and then said I'd really like to go to the Outlet Mall on International Drive.
3339370f.gif

Mom said that sounded good to her, and said she'd pick us up in a little while.

So, I went and got the girls up and fed them some breakfast.
23.gif

Mom had also said that she wanted us to go swimming at their house later that night, so I gathered around all of our swimsuits. Except, I couldn't find Arminda's.

Mom, Heather, and Dad then came and I gave them a little tour or the timeshare. Mom and Dad had been there before, but Heather had never seen it. I think she thought it was pretty.

We loaded up the girls in Mom and Dad's van (in their carseats of course) and we were on our way. Mom and Dad asked me for directions to the mall, and I started out doing quite well. I have been there many times, and tell Brian how to get there all the time. I told my Dad to get onto I-4. Mom wanted to know what exit we get off at, so I told her that we always got off at Sand Lake Rd, because when we try to go up to the Universal exit, we always get confused somehow. Mom then handed me the map and asked me to show her where the exit was. I didn't see it on the map, so I told her that if we took the Sand Lake exit, we would have to drive further on I-Drive, than with the Universal exit. So, Dad decided to take the Universal exit, which made me nervous, because as I said we somehow always get confused taking that one! But, it went ok, and soon we were on I-Drive heading to the mall.

Mom, Dad and Heather hadn't been there since they tore down the old Belz and put up the new mall, so they were surprised at how "different" (and here different means "nothing at ALL like it use to look!") the mall looked. I then directed everyone through the food court and out the doors to the DISNEY STORE!!!

We shopped for awhile, and I bought a pink Marie t-shirt and was going to buy a flowered Epcot shirt, because Heather had told me she had gotten one cheap at the other outlet store. But, when I took the shirt to the checkout, it was a lot more than Heather had paid. I told the CMs it was cheaper at the other store, and they said they'd look into it. Just not when I was there.

I looked longingly at a very cool looking Mary Poppins watch. I really wanted that watch! But, it wasn't very cheap, and I am, so I didn't get it. I still think maybe I should have. I still had part of the gift card from Mom left.

Arminda and Lydia both decided to buy a few presents for people. Arminda bought a picture frame for Grandma and Grandpa and a few other things. Which reminds me, she hasn't given them their frame yet.

Lydia bought some overpriced necklaces. They were $7.99, but I think they should have been more like $2. They were quite cute, but not made very well. But, it was her money, and she really wanted to buy those for us. It made her very happy to be able to give out some presents.

While we were leaving, Arminda came over to me and handed me a bag that I had not seen her get. In it was an Eeyore light up necklace. She was so proud of herself for buying it without me noticing. It was so sweet.

After we were done shopping, we walked around the mall awhile. Then, we all decided that if we weren't shopping at a Disney Store, we really didn't want to shop. So, we decided to go to the Disney Outlet in the Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet Center. Not my favorite Disney Outlet, but they had been to the other Outlet by the Catholic Church the day before.

Mom and Dad weren't sure how to get there, so I gave them two options. Dad missed the exits for I-4, and started asking which way we wanted him to go, so I told him to just go straight down International Drive, and we could get there that way. I don't think anyone though I had a clue what I was talking about at this point. Mom asked a few times for street names and exits, but I don't know them, I just know how to get there.

We got to the store without too much fuss, and did some more shopping. As I said, this is not my favorite Disney outlet, it isn't the same as the other two, but I do like to go there at least once on a vacation because they sometimes have different items. They have some good deals, and then there are a lot of things that look like they got them from the dollar store and are now trying to sell them for $5. It's more of a hunt than the other two stores!

I wasn't seeing much of anything I wanted in here today though. The kids did find a few things, and Mom said she'd pay for them. Heather bought Lydia a pair of Sally from Cars sunglasses and Arminda a pair of Hannah Montana sunglasses. Mom got me an Ariel pen that I thought was pretty cool, and a magnet for Corey.

We were getting hungry and tired, so we decided to head on over to the Golden Corral. Henry was meeting us there with Sawyer.

A little back-story:

My Grandpa
Pict0002.jpg

use to LOVE buffets! I mean he REALLY loved buffets! We use to go to a place called Duffs on 19 over in Holiday, then we started going to Stacy's, still on 19, but further south I believe. Grandpa would always tell us "Take as much as you want, but eat what you take!" He didn't like to see anyone waisting food! After awhile, the Golden Corral became Grandpa's favorite, and we always went there with him when we went to Florida. He loved a good buffet! Oh how I miss him.

Anyway, since there was a Golden Corral right next to my timeshare, we thought we'd try it out. I had been in here once in the 10 years we've been staying here. But, I'd never eaten there. I was a little leery about how good it would be. Mom was treating, so she told them how many we had and how old they were, and the guy rang up the order. When we sat at our table, we started looking at it and the total did not seem right. We finally figured out that they had charged Mom for more people than we had. So, she had to find a manager and have the bill corrected.

The food was really really good here! And, the restaurant was quite clean. We all had a very nice time, and it seems like we were in there for quite awhile! So, I'm sure we got Mom's money's worth! When we were done eating, the kids got some toys out of the "bubble gum" machine. I think Heather gave them the money for it.

Heather, Henry and the kids took off, and I went over to get the kid's bathing suits. I still couldn't find Arminda's suit, so I asked if we could stop at Walmart to get her one. She had needed a new suit anyway. I grabbed the girls' pajamas too, in case they fell asleep on the drive back from Heather's.

It took awhile, but I found a bathing suit for Arminda that fit and wasn't too revealing for a 10 year old! Why is that so hard???

When we finally made it to Heather's, Tessa was ready and waiting for us! We all got on our suits and swam around for awhile until it was time for bed.

Dad took me back to our timeshare, and the girls and I made some popcorn, watched a little TV. We were planning on going to Kennedy Space Center the next day, so I didn't keep them up too late.

Brian and Corey got back pretty late, and told me all about the fun they had fishing. I don't remember if they caught anything but they had a nice time.

Here are a few pictures:

They also told me that the GPS had taken them way out of their way and it had taken them twice as long as it should have to get over there. I think they just didn't follow directions very well, myself.

Big day tomorrow, so we all went to bed.

Next: Lydia's Happy Place

It sounds like a nice day! I love that your mom and dad came and got you. That water definitely looks like some prime alligator territory! :scared1: I'm scared of trout, (well, only if I'm swimming, not in the canoe) let alone alligators! Arminda is so sweet to buy you that eeyore necklace! My dad also LOVED buffets! Especially in Las Vegas :rotfl: He would say "eat 'till you fall through the floor!" :rotfl2: So now we have to joke about that whenever we go to a buffet.

So you must be like me...once I go somewhere I can usually get back there...may not know street names, but I know where I am going...

good times shopping...I like outlet shopping...I have never been to the Disney Outlets before, I'll have to figure out where they are.

How sweet of your baby to buy you a gift...I can see here now, grinning from ear to ear!

Glad Brian and Corey got some "big guy" time together. That's a scary looking swampy area!:scared:

I have never been to the Disney outlet either: cool! I also haven't been to the outlet mall in forever! Sounds like you got great stuff.

I hear you about the swimsuits! Why do they do that?

Great update!

Hi Teresa...sounds like you had a great day shopping and such. And the boys had a fun day "fishing"....glad no alligators got them! ;) Love the pics! :yay:

I just updated my TR with this day and I'm ashamed to say it's the most boring update every. At least yours was entertaining and had a really cute picture of grandpa.

I'm hoping to get my next update started tonight. I don't want to let that last stinker sit there for too long.

I forgot that Arminda bought you a necklace, too. We do have some pretty sweet kids, don't we? Well, besides when Sawyer bites one of your kids, that is. :rolleyes1

I forgot that you went to Kennedy Space Center! Our next day was Epcot (and I have lots of notes!). I can't wait to hear what you did!

Teresa great updates. Prime Time Cafe looks really fun. Fishing with alligators, oh my. Tell Brian nice fish.

My parents are pretty great, and my sister is ok too! :thumbsup2

There are SOOO many alligators in those little streams, I don't know what the heck they were doing throwing a NET in there!!! :scared1: Ken is afraid of nothing though, he's a bit nuts! :rotfl:
Aww, you have special buffet memories too!

YOU haven't gone to the Disney Outlet????????? One Nemo movie from Disney and you've never been????? :confused3 You have to do that. You really do!

Thanks! We really had a great day, not too exciting to read about, but it was a lot of fun!

Yep, tomorrow is KENNEDY SPACE CENTER DAY!!!!! The day Lydia was looking forward to the whole trip! :thumbsup2 I had lots of notes in my little notebook, but I'm not sure where that thing went. Oh well, I've winged it this long, I might as well keep doing it!

Teresa great updates. Prime Time Cafe looks really fun. Fishing with alligators, oh my. Tell Brian nice fish.

I will tell him you said so!
