Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

Great installment Heather!!! :thumbsup2 I love the fact that you made it on all of those attractions after lunch...I am usually whopped. Thanks for cheering me up tonight!!! :goodvibes

Tessa started to get a bit crabby. I told her that if she didn't stop the whining I was going to take her picture and show it to Luke (her future husband ;)) and my friends on the internet. Since I always keep my promises, here you are.

DSC07873_640x480.jpg

Tessa, your picture was kind of cute. How come most of the pictures are of Tessa? I love you. Where's a picture of Tessa at her home? From Luke

I was crackying up the whole time, but this REALLY had me laughing:

Check out that woman on her cell phone. Can you tell what time it is by looking at her shadow? If you can, you are super-cool!

It was so unexpected.

She couldn't BELIEVE that those animals had stuck their heads through the wall.

DSC07895_640x480.jpg

She leaned over and whispered "Mom, are they real?" Here was my opportunity to dip into the wisdom of "The Great Miss Cammie" (if you haven't read her TR, you really should). I said "That depends, do you believe that they're real?" She said "Yes." So, I said "Well, then they are real. That's Disney Magic." She looked at me and smiled a huge smile, her eyes all lit up and just said "Wow!"
Love that!

Lovin the TR more & more!! Fantastic job!!
Thank you!!

I was getting pretty tired, but it was our first day, so I had the adrenaline going!

Tessa, your picture was kind of cute. How come most of the pictures are of Tessa? I love you. Where's a picture of Tessa at her home? From Luke
Awww...that is SOOO sweet!! I am going to read her that in the morning. Of course, that will involve explaining that I really did post those pictures of her crying...

I was crackying up the whole time, but this REALLY had me laughing:

I cannot tell you how happy it makes me that I caught you off guard and made you laugh!

Love that!
I never would have thought to tell her that if I hadn't read CampbellScott's TR!

Heather, you are hilarious!

Pirates of the Pirate Bean, that is a hoot!
The story about the strangers rooting around for a penny and then making one for themselves. OMG. Hahaha!

Oh and my husband gets the same way waiting in food lines. Whatever. What's their deal anyway? Geesh. Men!

1. I know, wasn't she too funny!
2. I felt pretty stupid, thinking they were going to be sweet and offer Tessa a penny!
3. Henry automatically thinks that whatever task I give him must be the worst task. :rotfl2:

We must know did you rescue Sawyers lost cup???? Did some have to go "over the wall" to retrieve it?
I've always wanted to see the country bears.
I prefer Aladdin to Dumbo too. I think it is a longer ride too. Watch out for the camels!! I was wondering why I got a face full of water the first time I went on that ride, then I realized what was happening. :rotfl:
Who's up for a good game of "dodge the camel spit"?? Otherwise entitled "Try to get cool from a refreshing spray of camel saliva" :rotfl2:

Can't wait to see all the kids with the Anastasia, Dresella and that blonde girl! ;)

Thanks for the Shout Out!!!:goodvibes That is SO how Disney magic works! I had to loudly "quiet" laugh this morning at the pictures of Tessa looking upset!:lmao: she's so cute! (I had to quiet laugh b/c I didn't want to wake up ANYBODY...I want AT LEAST another 45 minutes of solitude!)

I have an opposite Johnny Depp feeling...I love me some Captain Jack...Johnny Depp...not so much. So I have decided that Captain Jack Sparrow is his own entity and merely resembles the broody Johnny Depp.

Can't wait to hear more...:moped:

Yes, Sawyer's cup was rescued SEVERAL times by Henry! I think he just reached through the fence and got it, but I can't remember for sure.

Unfortunately, Sawyer chucked it off the tram at the zoo last week and we haven't seen it since. It's lost in the jungles of Binder Park. :sad2:

I still don't know how the camels work!? Care to enlighten me?

How dare you, quiet laughing at my poor heartbroken daughter! :rotfl2:

I suppose if Captain Jack asked me for my phone number, I might be a bigger fan! ;)

Thank you so much for giving me the idea to share that little bit of magic with Tessa!

Heather that was so funny. The couple with the penny, the woman in PotC. I actually laughed out loud on the PotC one and my DS9 asked what I was laughing about :lmao: and I just told him something that you said that's all. I totally would have wanted to stand in line ordering food for a 1/2 hour than sitting with a cranky kid myself so I understand;) . Great update. Can't wait for 1900 Park Faire

John always sits with the kids while I order. He doesn't like to be responsible for that many people.
Usually he then goes up and orders for himself.
This process takes a really long time, so we try to avoid places and times that are very crowded. (Not always possible, but...)

I'm glad you posted cranky pics of Tessa. Makes me feel better that my kids aren't always sunshine and roses while on vacation. LOL

Sorry I disappeared. Life has been hectic!

I'm so sorry you had such a rought ime with the BBB and photographer! How horrible!!

And I'm glad I'm not the only mom who had some...errr.....not so magic moments with cranky kiddos at WDW.

Ok, I remembered to sub this time. :)

The rest of my family had brought lunches into the park, but I wanted to eat at Pecos Bills. Okay, that's not quite the reason...

When we were kids, my parents would never buy us food in the parks. We always had to go back to the car to eat. Yes, lunch time would come and we'd have to get back on the monorail, take the tram, and sit in our HOT car and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (or, more often, turkey sandwiches). It is not a childhood memory that I cherish. I always wanted to eat in the restaurants like the other families. So, I avoided packing a lunch on any day of our vacation, even if we weren't going to go out to the car to eat it. It's just a childhood dream type thing.

Tessa started to get a bit crabby. I told her that if she didn't stop the whining I was going to take her picture and show it to Luke (her future husband ;)) and my friends on the internet. Since I always keep my promises, here you are.

DSC07873_640x480.jpg

Aaaahhh...more air conditioned bliss! Tessa spotted a squished penny machine inside, and burst out cheerfully "A SQUISHED PENNY MACHINE!!!!" She then asked for her "squished penny tube". I had used an empty mini-m&m container and put a sticker that said "Tessa's squished penny money" on it. Then, I filled it up with quarters and pennies.

Unfortunately, the squished penny tube was still packed in our luggage back at the house. Henry and I had 2 quarters between us, but no penny. So, she was kind of sad about that.

DSC07894_360x480.jpg

A childless (at least they didn't have a kid with them) couple nearby saw us rummaging for a penny and looked sympathetically at Tessa. They started rummaging through their pockets and purse looking for some change. I thought that was so sweet that they were going to offer Tessa a penny. I stood nearby, not letting on that I heard them looking for a penny. They found one!!! Then, they went over to the squished penny machine, got themselves a nice, shiny squished penny, and put it in their pocket! :lmao: So much for anticipating a little Disney magic!

Sawyer was clapping his hands and bouncing along to the music. He absolutely LOVED it!!

1) So is that why your family looked at me like I was nuts when I suggested we stop and eat? They were waiting to go to the car and eat sandwiches? Tom will tell you, when I get hungry it's a whole lot uglier than Tessa's face so I am happy you guys obliged me and let us eat, lol!

I did pack pb&j crustables in my diaper bag until recently for the pickiest little girl in the world. They were frozen when we started the day and thawed and only a little mushy in time for lunch!

2) Poor Tessa! She looks so miserable. Tom will tell Henry that fetching the food is the easiest of the two jobs. He has no patience for whiny kids!

3) The penny machine story is hilarious! :rotfl2: Poor Tessa! The kids love the country bears. Jacob like to sing "there was blood on the saddle:" ewwww!

There was a very scared looking woman in line behind us. She was worrying that this would be a really scary ride. I know this because I was born and raised an eavesdropper. :listen: She was asking her family (about 10 of them, all together) what kind of ride this was- was it a roller coaster or what? None of them knew, they'd never been there.

Being the empathetic person that I am, I wanted to calm her fears. I turned to her and said "It's not very scary at all. There's only one part where you go upside down and the rest is pretty calm." At this point, she looked ready to bolt, so I quickly told her "No, I'm kidding! It's a very calm little boat ride, it's not a roller coaster or anything." She still seemed nervous, so I told her it was "It's a Small World" with pirates. This seemed to make her feel better and I got the satisfaction of teasing a complete stranger.

This guy's foot has fascinated me since I was a kid.

DSC07910_640x480.jpg

It was only after I exited the ride that I realized I wasn't supposed to be using my flash. OOPS! So sorry.

We tried calling the family one more time after we got off the ride. Again with the "click, click, static." I gave up at that point and just turned it off because the noise was driving me nuts and it was close to 3:00. We started heading up to meet the family at Expedition Hall when we saw that there was NO line at Aladdin's Magic Carpets!! I'd never ridden it before. So, we thought we should get on it since we missed Dumbo that morning.

1) That is so funny, we did that to my mom. Well, Megan ratted us out, as usual. She is so insistent on telling the truth!

2) I love that pirate's leg too! Look at the hair on it!

3) Bad Heather taking flash pictures!

4) We have got the kids so brainwashed they don't even ask to ride Dumbo. I am not sure if Megan has ever been on it. Aladdin is a much superior ride!

Great installment!

I'm playing catch up - I've been way behind.

Note to self - cancel BBB ressie in the morning! There's no way I'm paying to have a bad experience. I'm so sorry yours was less than magical.

The boat docks and we all file off of the boat. I look up at the Grand Floridian, and IT'S GORGEOUS!! It was just so pretty out there with the sun shining, the water, the beautiful white buildings with the red roofs...*sigh*.

DSC07956_360x480.jpg

We were early, so we goofed around taking some pictures. I like this picture because I didn't know I was getting my picture taken. You can see that I truly enjoy being with my sister.

IMG_0258_640x426.jpg

For this one, I told Teresa I was going to stand behind her so I look thin. Unfortunately, I fell far short of my goal...

IMG_0259.jpg

Corey, Lydia, and Tessa were looking for Ariel in the water (I think they were looking for fish, but I honestly don't remember).

DSC07945_360x480.jpg

DSC07949_360x480.jpg

Heres's my full dorky getup. Check out my pink mary jane crocs! Look at Arminda smoochin' on Sawyer again! I should also mention that I can't believe I got the Disney-hater to wear Disney shirts on our trip. Look how cute he looks in his Jungle Book shirt.

IMG_0260.jpg

We didn't know where the restaurant was. So, some of us studied the map.

IMG_0256_640x426.jpg

We started walking towards the main hotel and look who we saw!

DSC07950_640x480.jpg

It's Thumper!! We kept trying to hand him the pen and autograph book, but he just snubbed us.:snooty:

[Stephres shout-out alert] I was wishing Scrappy was there to show him what-for!

Tessa was pretty excited to see him, but not as excited as she was about the various ducks.

IMG_0261.jpg

I told Tessa to hold Lydia's hand while they were walking and she said "Why? I didn't falled in love with her."

IMG_0265.jpg

Just look at how pretty is is here! How do they keep the building so WHITE!! No rusty hard water sprinkler stains or anything.

IMG_0268.jpg

We made it to the main hotel area. We walked in, looked up, and this is what we saw. I felt like breaking into Esmerelda mode and singing "God bless the outcasts." But, people in the lobby may have taken offense.

IMG_0278.jpg

IMG_0276.jpg

Tessa sat, for a moment...

IMG_0274.jpg

Remember when I mentioned the kids were really well-behaved? Well, in the Grand Floridian, waiting for 40 minutes, NOT so well behaved! They weren't bad, just excited.

Off went Sawyer.

DSC07961_360x480.jpg

Tessa was bustin' a move.

IMG_0286.jpg

Sawyer and Arminda got involved in a pillow fight (this was taken during intermission).

DSC07962_640x480.jpg

I'm sure the other people in the lobby were greatly entertained by our children.

Barbara sat by me and said "You should take LOTS of pictures of Henry." Barbara is very quiet, so it's unusual for her to say something like that. Without thinking, I asked her why. She got all flustered- I think she done embarassed herself!

He was looking QUITE handsome, though. So, I completely understand.

DSC07970_360x480.jpg

Mom was fretting that perhaps the kids were getting too wild (she was right). So, she had them sit down to watch tv in the lobby.

FINALLY! It was time for our reservations!!!

IMG_0300.jpg

I was so afraid it was going to go like it did at the BBB and they'd say our reservations weren't for another hour. I was SO tired, the kids were being a handful, and we were all hungry! But, Teresa checked us in and everything went smoothly. We were in the first dinner seating. The CMs had everyone gather up by the doors before they let us in. It appeared they were saying some pretty entertaining stuff. But, we couldn't hear a word they were saying because we were in the back. We were seated just inside the door and to the left. We had 3 tables in all.

I took Tessa into the bathroom to wash her hands. Tessa looked in the mirror. Then, she looked at me and gasped "MOM! You look gorgeous in this gorgeous bathroom!" Mind you, it was HOT out- I was sweaty, tired, feeling completely soggy, and worn out. So, I took a picture of myself looking "gorgeous in the gorgeous bathroom", just for all of you. That girl of mine is the sweetest little thing in the world. Terribly misguided, but sweet.

DSC07983_360x480.jpg

We went back in and took a gander at the vittles. WOW!!! There was SO MUCH FOOD!! Food everywhere, different food from different countries, FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!! I don't remember everything I ate, but it was all DELICIOUS!! I particularly liked the delicious mashed potatoes and some Italian pasta type stuff.

The true star of the show was the dessert. OH MY GOSH!! The desserts were to die for! There were so many different things, I ended up getting a plate just of desserts. The very best thing I ate was something I almost passed up. It was in the kid's dessert area and looked like a dry brownie. I wasn't so sure about it, but I took one. It was a buffet! That little dried brownie looking thing was HEAVEN ON EARTH. It was like a cross between a brownie and chocolate fudge. *sigh* I dream about it to this day.

Before I touched my plate of food, around came Prince Charming. He started signing autographs right away.

IMG_0306_640x426.jpg

This is the point where Tessa informed me that she just felled in love with him (don't worry Luke, you're still her true love)!

DSC07988_360x480.jpg

Good 'ol Prince Charming put on his plastic smile and began to pose away.

DSC07991_360x480.jpg

With Mom and Teresa...

IMG_0321_640x426.jpg

Notice poor Charming's smile is beginning to wear a little thin.

IMG_0324_640x426.jpg

MOM!!! Licking your lips!?!? I think Prince Charming has just taken the place of Jack Hannah in mom's heart.

I decide to push it and get a picture of Sawyer with him. Sawyer was okay, as long as Prince Charming was looking the other way.

The kid was TERRIFIED!!!! What is so scary about Prince Charming, you might ask? Well, how would you like it if you were walking along, minding your own business and SUDDENLY you spot someone that looks exactly like you, but is 10 feet tall!!!!! Yeah, puts it into perspective, doesn't it? :rotfl:

That is my absolute favorite picture from the whole trip! :rotfl: :lmao:

Prince Charming felt unwanted and moved on to the next table...

As soon as I sat down to eat again, a certain blonde shows up at our table. I honestly don't remember much about her, other than that she seemed a little overwhelmed with so many little princesses. We didn't get a group photo with her at all. I'm thinking she commented on Tessa's dress after Tessa showed it to her.

Yes, this is her back, but look how excited the kids were to see her!

IMG_0325_640x426.jpg

Posing with Tessa. Isn't it sweet how Tessa is reaching up to touch her hand? Tessa knows Cinderella is Mommy's favorite princess.

DSC08002_360x480.jpg

No sooner did my butt touch the seat than I had to hop up again to get pictures of the Fairy Godmother! I thought about having a talk with her over the problems with her Fairy Godmother Training facility, but I kept it to myself.

She spent VERY little time at our table. Here's my favorite picture.

DSC08007_640x480.jpg

:lmao:

Tessa and the other girls were on the edge of their seats because they knew the wicked stepsisters were going to be next! We could hear them across the restaurant being their obnoxious selves (girls after my own heart). Finally, it was our turn!!! Anastasia was first and Tessa was SO excited to show her "her" beads.

IMG_0355_640x426.jpg

Anastasia called Drizella over so she could see "her" sash.

IMG_0356_640x426.jpg

She was absolutely hilarious!!! Look at the sparkle in the girl's eyes in these pictures!

DSC08016_640x480.jpg

IMG_0362_640x426.jpg

Drizella headed straight for our "Little Prince Charming".

DSC08024_640x480.jpg

She wanted him to give her a kiss, but it wasn't happening. Every time she came near him, he turned his head the other way and got really interested in his dessert.

DSC08026_640x480.jpg

He'd peek up at her when she wasn't looking.

IMG_0369_640x426.jpg

But, then it was back to the dessert.

DSC08031_640x480.jpg

She asked his name and said "Sawyer, I'll be back for you!" Then, she joked around with the girls and took some pictures. They are SOO excited, look at them!! This makes up for our less than stellar experiences earlier in the day!

DSC08029_640x480.jpg

She went on to other tables, but we kept hearing, from across the restaurant

"SAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWYERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I'm coming back for you, Sawyer!!!!" He'd look up nervously from his plate.

IMG_0376_640x426.jpg

She went to another little boy who was dressed as Prince Charming (ebay, I asked the mom) and he gave her a kiss. She got all riled up and yelled-

"SEE SAWYER!!!! SEE!!! I'm coming back for you SAWYER!!!"

She kept good on her promise and she came back once again. Her overtures were vehemently rejected once more.

DSC08027_640x480.jpg

"Very interesting desserts they have here at 1900 Park Fare"

IMG_0368_640x426.jpg

According to Arminda's face, she agreed!

IMG_0382_640x426.jpg

I tell you what, that whole experience totally made my day!! I don't think I stopped smiling from the moment I walked in the door. There wasn't a single thing about it that wasn't wonderful.

At one point, they started playing "bibbity bobbity boo" and all the kids got up and followed the stepsisters, hopping and dancing around the restaurant. SUCH fun!!!

Right around this point, the kids were starting to get REALLY riled up again.

IMG_0380_640x426.jpg

And Sawyer had HAD it!!

DSC08033_640x480.jpg

DSC08034_640x480.jpg

DSC08035_640x480.jpg

Hmm...taking pictures of my kids crying seems to be a theme.

Henry and I looked at each other and knew it was time we high-tailed it out of there. We were SOO tired and SOOO ready to go back to the house for a little R & R.

We went out to retrieve the stroller from where we parked it- and it was GONE! We looked around and found that they had parked them outside. This was kind of a good thing because we spotted a really cool Mary Poppins topiary out there!

IMG_0387_320x480.jpg

The rest of the family is crazy (or they have feet of steel and a neverending supply of energy) and decided they wanted to go back to the parks. But, Henry and I hunted down the monorail and headed on back to our house.

When we got there, I collapsed onto the couch for a while and then did a little laundry while Henry and the kids swam in the pool. This would be the last time I saw Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit in tact. Yes, the outfit that I spent hours making, painstakingly sewing the embellishments on by hand, would come completely unraveled while on the delicate cycle in the washing machine. :headache:

We started hearing a "beep...beep....beep....beep....beep" noise when it was time for bed. This was the kind of beeping that waits just long enough for you to forget about it before it beeps again. I have NO tolerance for sounds like this and it was driving me INSANE!!! We couldn't figure out where it was coming from at first. But, then we realized it was coming from the pool alarm. The stinkin' thing needed a new battery. Naturally, I didn't bring any 9V batteries with us and there were none in the house. I really couldn't take the beeping, so my wonderful husband ran down to the store and bought us a new battery- for $9!! Sheesh! The sign on the pool alarm said we would be prosecuted by law if we tampered with it, but we were willing to take the risk. ;)

We got it all fixed up and I tucked the kiddos into bed. I decided to just push the 2 twin sized beds together and have both Tessa and Sawyer sleep in the same room since Sawyer wouldn't stay in his pack 'n play.

We were planning on leaving for Epcot the next day at 8:00am, so we got to bed early and I believe I slept like a rock.

Up Next: Really? You really have to do THAT before rope drop?

Awesome wickedness! I love the girls' smiles and poor little Sawyer being picked on! Sooooo cute!

Scrappy would have definitely given that bunny the what-for. I do hope he wasn't eating any flowers!

Hey, you are gorgeous in the gorgeous bathroom!
