Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

Hi Doreen,

Ok- I must know..........What does the D-zone stand for. I mean I can tell it's your TOM but I can't figure out what the D stands for (maybe dreaded?).

Sending you some good vibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes and you get over the D-zone soon! I know I always feel horrible for the first two days. Then the :sunny: returns.

I'm so glad that Todd is going to join the gym with you. It will be good for him as well and will save you the money on the TM. Way to go!  ( I really love banana man too)!

Keep up the good work and don't stress over the pizza. There is always tomorrow to be good. Sometimes you just have to have a cheat and then you can get back on track. Whatever gets us over the TOM!

Hi Doreen,

Don't worry about that pizza. I am the same way during that time and crave salt and sugar. Not a pretty picture when that happens but we all slip every once in awhile. Today is another day though so move on. :cool1: I'm glad you and your husband are both going to join. I find it so much easier to stay OP when my husband is also living that way. We try to go to the gym at least once a week and we both like it when we do. Kind of a bonding time :love2: even though we use different machines at different times. Another thought for you if you want a walking track is your local high school. I know around here you can show your driver's license and walk the high school indoor (winter) or outdoor track. Just a suggestion. Hope you are having a good day. :sunny:

Hi Doe - Sorry it's been a few days since I last read your journal. Hope quickly the days seem to go by now....

Great news about your DH joining you at the gym. I'm sure my DH would go more if I went with him, but since I have a ladies only gym now, he just isn't modivated enough to go himself.

I know how your feeling and from catching up on the journals lately, seems everyone else is suffering from that TOM right now :earseek: :earseek:

Good for you treating yourself to those highlights. I just got mine cut and I feel so much better (not to mention lighter :cutie: )

Hang in there and we'll all be over the BLAHS soon....

:cheer2:  :cheer2: Doe, I am so happy to read that your DH will be joining you at the gym! That's awesome!! I really enjoy it when my DH and I can go at the same time. It makes it more fun for both of us.

Enjoy that new 'do! You look mah-valous! princess:

Great news - highlights & a gym partner - boy life is GOOD :cool1:

Ooh I read chocolate russell stover - how was it? or is it still safe in your desk?

Have a wonderful evening :teeth:

PS - pm me your address so I can send you a nice copy of the marathon pic we had taken at the end :cheer2:

Doreen, sounds like you had a good day!!!! And yeah for you and your 3 smilies, highlights and a new doo
That is great that your hubby will be joining you at the gym too!! Whoo hoo!!! I wish I could get my SO to workout with me!! You lucky girl!!! And about your yummy chocolate.....I would have eaten it by now....... :worship: :worship: :worship: Way to go!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I earned all 5 smilies yesterday!! WOO HOO!! :Pinkbounc I'll be trying to build on that success and earn all 5 today too, in spite of the DZone! ::yes::

For those who are not familiar with the DZone, it is short for Danger Zone. It's different for each of us and sometimes different for each month. It usually hits me a week to 10 days before my TOM and doesn't leave until 2-3 days after TOM's arrival. It is the time when I'm extra tired and most vulnerable to eating the wrong foods and skipping exercise.

Our furnace has been giving us a bit of trouble lately. The service guy came yesterday to fix it. I guess he really did "fix" it because it shut off last evening and wouldn't restart. We waited for another tech to fix it again. We finally had heat and hot water around 12:15 last night. Never a dull moment. I was so tired that I went to bed around 10:30 and let DH deal with it.

Today I'm still in the throes of the DZone. I'm scheduled to give blood over lunch hour - my swollen body won't miss a pint, that's for sure! :teeth: If i need chocolate, I still have my Russell Stovers LC in my desk drawer, so I can have chocolate and still stay on plan.

Today: (edit 1 PM)
1. Devotions - Anxiety weighs down the human heart, but a good word cheers it up. -Proverbs 12:25 (NRSV) I'm thankful for my WISH friends, who share so many good words and so very often lift my spirits. :grouphug:
2. Pills - just took them. :p
3. Water - my goal is 60 oz, 36 oz finished so far.
4. Healthy eating - B was yogurt w/ walnuts. AM snack was string cheese and an apple w/ PB, L was a burger.
5. Exercise - I walked 15 minutes at lunch. I'd like to get to the health club tonight if possible.

Today I need to focus on work assignments so I won't be around to as many journals but I'm sending good vibes :goodvibes to all! :grouphug:

:sunny: Good morning, Doreen. 5 Smilies. Woo-hoo! That makes banana men get up and dance!

It sounds like you're making great decisions for yourself in spite the DZ. You've got to be feeling really good about that!

I know a long walk must be in our near future. . .what do you think about that first weekend in Feb? I know that you must have some special plans. ;) Maybe it'll be too cold to walk yet? :cold:

Thanks for my song yesterday. It really had me groovin'! :cool1:

Have a good one,
Erin

Good morning Doe!

I'm glad to hear that you got your furnace fixed and that you have hot water too! Last year, our furnace went and it took my DH 3 days to fix it!:cold:

I hope you have a wonderful day today! Take care!

I'm glad to hear the tech guy was able to fix the heater or else you all would have been popsicles by this morning :cold: (I love new smilies!). Great job on the 5 smiles! :cheer2: Did the sugar free chocolate pudding help?

Take it easy on the walk and gym with giving blood today - don't over do it and make yourself queasy!

~Amanda

Congratulations on the 5 smilie day, Doreen! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

I am so glad that the furnace got fixed. You would have been frozen this morning. I hope the afternoon goes well at work, and you make it to the gym.

Take care,
Beth

Doe:

I sure like your rating for making your daily goals - even one smile is an accomplishment some days for me.

I'm also glad to hear that your DH is going with you to the gym...he'll be healthier for it too! Treadmills are pricey! I've priced them out as well and almost bought one used at a neighbor's garage sale last fall but then I got on it and it had a "hesitation"...DH said it wasn't a very quality unit and he didn't think he could fix the "hesitation". What is frustrating is that my FIL has a really nice unit collecting dust downstairs and he won't give it up even though neither he or his GF uses it! Well its the same for the sewing maching and surger upstairs too! When will folks learn that its not about the amount of stuff you collect in your lifetime - but what you do with your time that counts!

Have a really terrific day - D-Zone be gone!

-Laurie

Hey Doe! Way to go on the 5 :) day! Woo Hoo!

Too cool that DH is gonna go to the gym with you! You two can run on your treadmills together. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSxdm31547US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_120.gif' alt='Treadmill' border=0></a> <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSxdm31547US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_120.gif' alt='Treadmill' border=0></a>

Hey Doe,

I havta tell ya, when I see you've taken the time to post on my board, it really lifts my spirits! :sunny:

Well as I talked about last year, I have a hard time connecting with you guys on the TOM topic.....you know, being as I am the only guy on here...(I know there is one or two others, but I feel special thinking I am it!)

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Later,

Dax

Way to go Doe........gotta love a five smile day!!

Here's looking at another bigh day tomorrow!! :) :) :) :) :)

You go girl!!!

I ended up with 4 of 5 smilies yesterday. My food was good until last evening. I didn't binge or overindulge though, I just chose to eat a dinner that wasn't low in carbs, and for DZone it is OK. I can make those choices but I need to limit myself to once a week.

I took the day off from work. There are lots of things at home that need catching up and with the DZone blahs and temps in the single digits, well it seemed like a good day. :p I've already started the laundry.

Even though I'm at home, I'm going to stay focused on a 5 smilie day! :cloud9:

Today: (edit 12:45 PM)
1. Devotions - Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
-Hebrews 10:24-25 (NRSV) I am reminded of how lonely I felt before starting to journal every day. This daily connection with other WISHers who "provoke me to love and good deeds" has meant the world to me. :grouphug:
2. Pills - taken.
3. Water - on my fourth mug.
4. Healthy eating - B = yogurt w/ almonds
5. Exercise - soon! At least I finally put my exercise clothes on! :p

What exercise will you be doing? The firm? :)
I wanted to take today off so badly - but end of the month is never a good time to take off when you are in sales, especially when your numbers are low. So think of me while you are recharging your batteries at home.

Have a good day!

~Amanda
