Doorway to Dreams - Woodfield Mall - IL

Well, I went on a bus trip to Woodfield Mall for some Christmas Shopping and stopped by the Doorway to Dreams.

They were SOOO NICE. I told them I was a DVC member, and the first thing they said was Welcome home, and do you have your ornament yet? I said thanks, and no - what ornament?

They proceed to ask me what resort was my home resort and offer me the tour. I was so excited as they have replicas of the studio & one bedroom there. I bought without a model visit so this made me even happier with my decision.

The AKL rooms are huge and gorgeous! I can't wait to stay there.

And then before I left they gave me a bunch of doorway to dreams luggage tags shaped like Mickey Mouse, Two fridge magnet paper clamps, and a pewter DVC member ornament. How cool!!

If you are in the area, you should stop by. It's a great way to get a small fix when you are in the great white north!

This is our local mall, and we visit Doorway to Dreams all the time for a "DVC fix" and to let the kids pin trade with the cast members. We've toured the AKV model at least ten times already (and aren't tired of it yet!)

We were there a few weeks ago and didn't realize it was Mickey Mouse's birthday. The store had balloons and a huge birthday cake, and we got some extra pins. We also got our DVC ornament. It was a really nice surprise.

I love having a DVC place nearby.

I never even realized that Mickey had an actual birthday. I am surprised that isn't a well known date - it would sure make a good Jeopardy question!
