opinions?and 259x4 is lets see.........is 1036 but i already have 325 so now i need 711 more

are you staying in a hotel down there?

If you go through the travel company getawaytoday you can get two adult park hopper tickets (3 day i believe) for free with your reservations?

I know they're pretty expensive, aren't they...just be glad they're not the same as WDW Annual passes. We are moving to south Carolina and were looking at getting WDW APs...since we'll only be about 6.5-7 hours from WDW...for a family of four to get them (at the MILITARY pricing) it was going to cost us $1656!!

We are taking advantage of the Getaway today DL tickets with our rooms. It is a great deal. You might want to check it out. (getawaytoday.com)

ohhhh

Well just think. a whole year's worth of fun is totally worth it. It's just a pain to save up in the first place!

So you're working to get Deluxe APs? Just so you know, last year in September they raised the prices, the day after we upgraded our tickets to APs. We paid 239 for our Deluxe, then the next day they cost 259. So watch out for price increases around then (we are expecting a price change around renewal time)!

And with the APs, you are getting a pretty hefty discount, once you've used them a few times. Our 5 day park hoppers were valued at 189 (we bought them in a package, then upgraded). We knew we would come back for at least one more day later in the year, and buying a 5 day and a 1 day would have taken us OVER what our APs cost. So that's a lovely discount. And we had to pay the same cost for DS at 3, when he can't yet go on everything, but still it was worth it and has been a terrific discount. Let's see, I've been there, guesstimating, 18 days since September, so divided into 239 and that's a pretty good daily rate! Since you live close you'll probably go even more often. :goodvibes

Good luck!

You may want to add parking on to one or two of those passes since you live close unless you'll be staying at a walking distance hotel. Otherwise you will be paying to park every single day you visit.

A one day park hopper costs $91. So as bumbershoot observed, the AP becomes a better deal the more and more you go. On my February visit I renewed to a premium AP, and ended up spending 2 1/2 total days spread over 4 "real" days in the parks, but I knew that I would be back again at least twice before the end of the year. On my visit in June I spent 4 days in the parks, and my AP has already paid for itself. At $379 you need to visit Disneyland on a total of 4.16 days to cover the one day park hopper pass(not including discounts that come with it).

Yes, it is expensive and not much fun to save up for, but they don't offer many discounts because they know what a deal it is to begin with.

FYI - you do not get two free adult park hopper tickets from getawaytoday.com - you get two Magic Morning entries for your three day or longer park hopper tickets. When you book with them, they will automatically add three day park hoppers for however many people are on the reservation. You can remove these or add whatever tickets you need (5-day, 2-day, etc.)

sorry about complaining its like the only way i can save up is by baby sitting my little brother lol and it takes forever how much is the parking pass?

I personally think the season passes are well worth that cost if you live nearby. We go almost weekly and have more than paid off our delux season pass compared to if we bought tickets each time. We also added parking to 1 of our passes. It's great having the food discounts and perks that come with it.

I don't think they'll issue any specials on season passes, I haven't even heard of them ever giving a discount on them. I guess they must not need to!

They used to then. my bad.

We have parking on my pass and it has been invaluable as I think it is like $11 for parking. I think the parking upgrade cost about $59, well worth it.

Every time you pay for anything at DLR just give them your pass too, you will be surprised how many places give the 10% discount.

No way... I'm shocked. Prices went up for something at DLR? ha ha

Are you close enough to get the Southern California APs? You could start with those, then upgrade as you are able to...just a thought...

You ARE getting a discount. A pretty big one at that.

Look at the pure math of it:
1 day adult park hopper - $91

$91 x 3 visits = $273

Deluxe AP = $259.

So.... every time you go to the park after your third visit is free. You can't get a better discount than that!

The parking can add up if you go a lot. I would add the parking on to at least 1 pass. A little tip on the parking: it's good as long as the person who has it on their pass is in the car. So if there is 1 person that no one else would go without, you only need parking on that person's pass.

On that note: The Deluxe with parking is $318. The premium is $379 and has NO blackout days the entire year - none. If you think you are going to go a lot, it could be worth the extra $60 in the long run.

If you really use your pass, you are getting an AMAZING discount when compared to regular daily passes.

Enjoy your park visits! Nothing like knowing you can go to the park for 3 hours, shop, watch a parade, not go on a single ride without any guilt because you can always come back next week if you want. :)

It's up to $12 now.

DEFINITELY worth adding parking or even getting the premium if you go enough. $58 to get parking on the deluxe. 5th visit pays for the parking.

Oh yeah you will find yourself using those passes till they wear out! We went almost 4 times a week for a year, thats 48+ times. And we did the parking upgrade so except for gas food and goodies, it is such a deal! Our next quest to spend less money is to bring really good food with us, and either have a picnic or eat in the car (weather depending) listening to cd's or something. If you live close I would also suggest like a pp, to just get the southerrn cal passes, you dont really need the deluxe ones, there are a few days blocked out but for us, those are the days we wouldnt go anyway. I think the weekends are to insane for us so it worked out well.
And the Southern Cal passes are much much cheaper like 169 ea.
But that is super nice of you to buy passes for your family, they must be wonderful.

Great observation. The extra $60 to get the premium will also pay for itself with increased food discounts(15%) and merchandise discounts (10%).

And even if you live far, far away from DL (like me:sad2: ) the AP is a good idea if you are going for more than one visit (we are getting to go at least three times, maybe 4-5 if we're REALLY lucky!). And you get a discount for most food in the park too (10%).

Sometimes AAA offers discounts or incentives for getting an AP. One time it was $10 off or a $10 gift card. My brother's work also offered a discount on the AP too so you might want to check out your parents work if they offer anything like that. Its not a year round offer though but worth checking out.
