Don't use ME resort bag check if you want an earlier flight home!!

All checked bags are now screened, either scanned or searched. There is no longer any requirement that passengers fly on the same plane as their luggage. If you plan on standing by for an earlier flight SW will let you check your bags through on the earlier flight. Your bags will go even if you don't clear. Alternatively you'll have to make your own arrangements to get your bags from the airport.

This won't be a problem going to MCO if you're using DME. It can also work if you live close enough to the airport to back and retrieve your luggage or are willing to pay to have your luggage delivered.

Carol--RAC checked bags go a separate facility at MCO where they're scanned and stored. Airlines won't normally even conventionally checked bags. You were probably very persuasive in order to retrieve your bags.

When we went down in July we had weather related delays. We ended up having to spend the night in Atlanta and continuing to Orlando in the morning. Our luggage stayed at the airport (as it was just easier to get to the hotel without it being it was already 1:00 a.m.). We were told our bags would be sent to Orlando on the first flight out in the morning and we were scheduled on the 9:00 a.m. flight. When we arrived our bags were there waiting for us.

Nope The bus driver scans the voucher as you enter the door .

If that doesn't happen your bags ( That are also barcoded with the same code) won't get released into the truck for transport.

We were there a week ago and our ME driver didn't even look at our ME vouchers when we got on the bus - let alone scan anything - and our bags were delivered just fine. It must be tied to the ME check-in desk, not the driver.

No, I was doing them a favor and taking a different flight due to overbooking (Plus I was in the DL Crownroom and the folks in there tend to be more customer service orieinted then the regular agents!)
