Why is value season at the deluxe resorts during one of the busiest times of the year (I'm talking July). I can understand August being value since it's hurricane season, but July is smack dab in the middle of summer.

Am I missing something? :confused3

Please explain! (please?)

thanks!princess:

It has a lot to do with demographics. The visitors coming to Disney in the summer are more typically young families on a budget, looking for a good vacation at a good price. That's why you see the new "summer" season at the values. The visitors who typically stay at the deluxe resorts are families with older children and people without children, who have more flexibility in their travel plans, and will usually travel when it's cooler and outside of hurricane season. So they lower the prices on the deluxes, to entice more of that demographic to visit, and they raise the prices some on the values, because they know they'll be booked regardless. It's all business.

fla4fun, pretty much summed it up, in addition you have to remember that huge summer crowds at the parks are not always huge crowds at Disney resorts. Much of the summer crowds are off site.

As stated those with flexible vacation tend to avoid the heat and crowds of the summer months.

Hurricane season begins June 1.

Tikiman reported that the Poly management said their rooms were sometimes only half rented in July.

That said, we are going for our third July trip this year.
