Don't think my AAA agent is happy with me.

Well I asked her to look into changing my ressie from the 4/3 deal to the free dining pin code. I could do it myself and let her cancel the ressie she made. I hope I am not be to much of a bother but I just want the best deal for my family vacation.:confused3

Just had to tell my disfriends.

Well that's her job! So don't feel bad for asking her to check for you. If she isn't getting the best deal for you, then you should absolutely cancel and book it yourself!

i'm just curious, since i'm not a AAA member, but is their a price difference when u book a trip with the free dining pin thru AAA vs directly with Disney?

I don't think there is a difference since you really can't use 2 discounts at once...it's either AAA discount or free dining. I've only used them for the room only discount, not a package through them so that may be different but I'm pretty sure you would get the same free dining rate no matter who you book though.

There are some small extra package benefits that you get when booking thru AAA - on top of the MYW package benefits; diamond parking pass, story time with a character, a few extra discounts, etc. Otherwise it is the same.

I've found AAA agents take quite a while to get back to you when it's not their AAA rate. The rates using AAA as your TA are the same when using a disney discount code or PIN code as booking thru WDW CRO. You can call WDW CRO yourself, tell them you have a resservation thru AAA, but are questioning which rate is better and aren't getting a response from AAA. They will price the whole thing out for you but can't book until you have canceled your AAA reservation. Then you can call your AAA travel agent to have it re-booked without canceling and that way your deposit will transfer. It took a week for my AAA agent (she was on vacation in WDW) to get back to me when 4/3 first came out in Nov so I called WDW and was armed and ready to go when she finally called me back. The bad thing was she took so long to call me back that I didn't get my first choice of resort:headache: .

I'm rethinking using my AAA agent for any future bookings, I agree with PP that the agents are not all that fast to get you what you're wanting...I've lucked out that what I wants is still available, but seems like it takes her at least 24 hours to get back to me on these things - longer than I want to wait when I know I can book on line or on the phone in a matter of minutes. ...we've used 2 of the AAA extras in the past (the Diamond parking about 1/2 the days we're there, and the one-time discount card is nice for a souvenir shopping deal) but this last time I booked the 4/3 deal in May through my AAA agent (2 separate rooms, 4 adults) they charged me a $15 handling fee on each reservation. That's new - didn't have that before. Don't think that Diamond parking pass is worth $30...

My agent has never gotten upset with me for asking her to look into things and change things.

I got a 40% off code and booked it over a weekend. I called her on Monday to tell her and give her the option of calling Disney to get it switched under her. She did that.

Now, I just had to call her to cancel the whole thing because my husband and I decided to buy into DVC and will be going on points this summer. She was gracious and wonderful.

I think most will be okay with it. I am still going to buy my tickets from them since they are discounted (not doing the AP for this trip).

There are agents, and there are agents...

If the TA is based in one of the store fronts, chances are you'll get a slow response. They cater mostly to those that walk in the store and talk in person.

The best TAs are the ones in the back on a central office. Typically you'll get those when you start off via the 800 number and ask for a Disney specialist.

Last August, I booked a trip via the TA, mostly because I wanted the Diamond pass (was driving). From the start, I lay down my rules about availabilty and who to contact if she was out or on vacation. She noted on the account that any other rep could make changes. Then a public offer was to come out in the end of August and she was to be out on vacation.

Still at 6:30am (her first vacation date) she sent me an email that she had updated my rez with the new public offer.

This has been my first time dealing with a AAA agent and so far we've been happy with our service. She's efficent and very pleasant to work with. We booked our package back last Sept. before the 4/3 deal was released and when I first heard of it I phoned her to ask if we could take advantage of that deal and at first she told me no(but nicely) she said that she had already looked into it for us and was told that we wouldn't be able to use it; then right before the holidays she called me here at work to tell me that since she and I had last spoke she called Disney back and we would now be able to take advantage of the 4/3 deal. I guess some rules changed or something but she saved us over 500 bucks and that made my husband's holiday.

I have to say that i have not had a problem with my agent. I booked my trip in August, and she was great then. Well she was out of the office sick when the 4/3 deal came out. So instead of leaving her a voicemail i opted to speak to a representative, and they took care of everything for me. I had my new conformation number by 6 PM opening night. I recieved my final statement yesterday, and we dont have a handleing fee, or anything attached to ours??? :confused3 I think i will use them again, i dont however think ill be using disney direct anymore. My experience with them last January was a nightmare :scared1:

I booked through AAA.

To be honest, I could have done it myself. But in these rough times, anything that earns anyone a little commission, but doesn't cost me anything, is something I'm happy to do.

My AAA agent is a total sweetie.
