I want to use my points to stay at a non-DVC WDW resort - I want to pay cash for Sat and Fri nights and use points for Sun thru Thurs nights -- do you do all of this with MS or do you call CRO for the cash nights and MS for the points nights??? Those who have combined cash and points for the same resort stay -- how many of you were able to keep the same room and how many of you had to change rooms?? Thanks much!!

I don't have the answer to your Q, but I don't think your crazy for staying at a non DVC resort. We are planning to stay a few nights each year at The Poly. We have three nights Poly Concierge booked for Jan '03, but we are using all points...even for a weekend night.

I would have used all points if I had enough points but I don't -- so using cash for the weekends is the best way for me to go!!

I too do not think it is a crazy idea - we did this when we went to DL. You will book your cash room with CRO and your Point room with MS. Once you have your reservation number from DVC (it will be on your confirmation sheet) call CRO and ask that the two ressies be linked. We had no problem at all. You will have to Check-out and then Check-in. We did this right before we went to the park at 7AM. They took care of everything at the front desk for us.

Well, I just made my res for the cash nights thru CRO and I wanted a garden view for my length of stay so I would hopefully not have to switch rooms and of course the 2 nights I'm paying cash I got the garden view for the 1st night but they only had lagoon view for the 2nd night -- I hate to switch rooms!! I'm gonna keep calling back everyday to see if a garden view on that night becomes available. Now I have to worry about my nights on points being available -- it has to all be garden view or I won't have enough points to use. Wish me luck!!
