We went to DLP in March with our three kids and my husbands sisters family. We had an absolutely fantastic time, however, due to an awful stomach bug that only my husband and I had, we didn't get to do many of the coasters and were really worn out and didn't take much in. SO....... we've decided to go on our own to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in September!!!!!!!:rolleyes1

It's so unlike us to do stuff without the kids and I feel really wicked! I don't think I can face telling the kids that we are going without them so we are going to keep it a secret. Well, we're going to try!!!!!!:rotfl:

We are doing exactly the same as you in October. We will have been Feb & May this year, and will go again next Feb so I don't feel the kids have missed out but even so we won't tell them. And that will certainly make me feel guilty too!

Im doing the same as you aswell....im going with my DD in 2 weeks :)
She has no idea lol

I know about feeling guilty because we are going just me a DH for our 15th anniversay in June. We are splurging on the DLH and if all goes well we will go back with the kids at a later date. (maybe Halloween again) This will only be our 3rd time away from the kids overnight in 15 years so it will be really special. Enjoy it as you can sit together with each other on the rides. We never get to do that when we have the kids!

I really want to go this year for hallowe'en and not tell Disneyfoo until the night before!

Not sure I'll have saved enough money by then, though, not with the poor exchange rate :(

We did the same thing! In December 2007 DH & I went away to Paris for 2 days without the kids. We spent 1 day in Paris & had to spend the other in DLRP. We got the chance to do things we hadn't done before & being able to go for a meal on our own was heaven. Go and enjoy yourselves.

I am so glad that there are others who have done this. It makes me feel not so guilty, still guilty but not as much as before!!!!;) We are hoping to take the kids next March to DLP with DH dad and DH sister so I hope that is all booked before we go.

I'm most looking forward to eating a nice quiet meal in Walts, being able to look in the shops without being pestered to buy everything in sight and screaming my head off on the coasters next to my husband ( I don't usually go on them so that I can stay with the two younger ones!)

Can I ask what other people most enjoy on adult only trips? I have a feeling 'cocktails' may be mentioned once or twice!:rotfl:

We haven't done it yet, but last time with the kids I couldn't go on POTC again after my DD (2 then) hated it, or Peter Pan, and she wouldn't hear of staying with DH. So it's even little things like that I'm looking forward to! Also going on BTM, Phantom Manor, Crush and a few other rides we didn't go on with the kids. We don't use baby swap as my children would unfortunately NOT tolerate the wait ;) so all those rides were out for us. I won't go on the big coasters but there's still a lot of other stuff we didn't go on - Star Tours, Honey I Shrunk the Kids etc etc. And a nice quiet meal! DH also has his heart set on going to the California Grill.

I feel awful saying this, but adult only trips give us time, and lots of it. We manage to do everything in a fraction of the time. Including getting ready, having breakfast, even just walking down a street alone with DH is a completely different experience to manouvering a pram, calling to DD7 to keep up, while DD13 moans about her sore feet if she has to walk more than 2 metres. Plus we dont have endless loo breaks. :goodvibes

We just returned from an adults only trip (Not hard or guilt inducing as we don't have children!) and I'm happy to say we just acted like big kids! :goodvibes We did a character meal at Cafe Mickey, which was fab, and probably our favourite bit of the holiday! :goodvibes But the best thing with it being just us, was that we could walk down to the Disney Village quite late on for our meals so it was a lot quieter and easier to get into places! I think this is generally the case when there's just the two of you though..... It was lovely looking round the gallery of Disney Animation in the Studio properly (We saw a lot of kids dragging their parents straight through this...!) and having a good look round places like the castle and the maze.....
