Don't stop believing... "Major change 6/23 The Circle of Life"

We are flip floppers, you know it and I know it that is just how we roll. We have a couple of ideas how our first day will play out. Let’s explore shall we?
We are flying out of St. Louis, staying the night at our favorite Marriott with the wheelchair accessible shuttle and those fantastic beds I am in love with, can’t wait to sleep there again

.

We will eat at the hotel and try to go to bed early. Bill will become frustrated with my annual “I can’t sleep we are going to WDW tomorrow giggles
4LOL.gif
”. I will finally get to sleep
Disneysleepanimation.gif
, then the alarm will go off way too early.
The first WDW day will look something like this:

- shuttle to airport

- fly to MCO

- ME to WL

- check in, if room ready, put carry on stuff in room and relax a bit. If room is not ready, boat to MK to turn my voucher into an Annual Pass and upgrade Bill’s ticket into AP.

- take a look at my castle to make sure it has been taken care of this year and go back to WL.

- check out the resort and impatiently

wait to get to meet Terry

and Toni

when they FINALLY SHOW UP at the resort.

- say hi to them etc and let them get settled into their room

- head off to dinner with them - Ohana and watching Wishes from teh Poly beach with some great drinks :thumbsup2.

Then Bill and I will go back to our room and pass out. This plan sounds pretty good to Bill and me. We are sleeping in the next day, no alarm at all

. We are trying to take a more laid back approach this time, think we can do it?

Next installment…what exactly can Bill ride and how does Disney do it?

There is no way we could do this on our first park day of the vacation... We will be thinking of you guys wwhile we are at Epcot :goodvibes ...

We can't wait either :goodvibes.

As for sleeping in, it is a necessary evil. We need to make sure Bill is rested, that is a lot of traveling for him in a 36 hour period and I just want his muscles relaxed.

I quite doubt we will sleep in too late. We will be in Epcot at some point that day :rotfl:.

Sounds like a perfect first day to me! Now if I could only figure a Date for my first day...Ugh!

It seems that there always has to be a change in plans when it comes to us. Bill had wanted to have us stay past the time we had originally booked, Nov. 28 - Dec. 7th. He said "why don't we stay until the 10th so we are there for your birthday?". Then he said "why do Pop again, let's try to stay on at WL", so I called tonight, no go with our 40% off code :sad1:. So what to do, what to do????

Thanks Toni, I never thought this would happen :confused3. I am thinking this will ruin Bill for Pop Century forever, but guess I have to take that chance :rotfl2:.

Wow "T", I am so happy for you! A bit jealous, but happy! You need to have Bill call my hubby....he could learn some stuff from Bill!

:lmao:

I think all 4 of us may come home resort snobs... :snooty:

I hope not, I know this trip is not something that is going to happen every time, I know that Pop is more of our price point and I am happy with it. I am very grateful that we get to have this experience this time.

Congrats Tracy, you deserve a special birthday :cheer2:. I'm sure this will be the stuff that dreams are made of :yay:

But I'm sure that Pop will always have a special place....I still remember when we used to stay at CBR although now we're DVC members, it's hard to give up our stays at BWV or BCV.

Enjoy!

Thanks!! I keep telling Bill he needs to give seminars on "how to woo a woman after you already have her ":rotfl:.

Thanks Derek!! This is a huge leap for us and I have been researching the handicap accessible rooms at both resorts. I know we will like it, I think I will miss the comfort of knowing the resort etc, it will just take getting used to.

I worry that Bill won't want anywhere but deluxe from now on :rotfl2:.

Although we've never stayed at the Polynesian, we walked the grounds and dined at Kona Cafe regularly. I think KC is a great deal for TS and wished we ate there multiple times (instead of at the cafe at the Grand Floridian).

When we visited the Polynesian, we almost felt like we were in Hawaii. It definitely has a different vibe than other resorts and you're right, it might influence you to try Deluxe going forward, especially the larger rooms (I thought I heard that the rooms are 600 sq ft?).

Have fun!

We have done the luau twice and love 'Ohana too. Bill has been in love with the Poly for forever. We will definitely be trying Kona this time. According to the Passporter the garden view rooms at 409 sq ft, still bigger than Pop :rotfl:. I am just used to having one bed in a room with the wheelchair and these are supposed to have 2 queen beds so that will be different for us.
