Don't stop believing... "Major change 6/23 The Circle of Life"

Aww, Tracy, that's so sweet! Hopefully we will have many more meets in the future! ::yes::

Is Greased Lightning less comfortable because of the seat/padding, or because it absorbs shock less than Christine?

Oh, and BTW Mr. YodaK, you need to start popping in more often!

Having only 25 posts, total, is unacceptable around here!! :laughing:

Kathy

I hope we have more meets too.

I told Bill he needed to come on here and explain the reasoning as to why one chair is less comfortable than the other. Hopefully he will listen to me.

This trip would be a great trial run to see how the C350 works at Disney. I never thought about any of this stuff until I met Bill, he has opened my world to a lot of things. He struggles so much to just not be in pain.

He ultimately decided he wanted to bring the old chair, he says Disney makes him feel normal and he knows the old chair can fit everywhere. The new chair might have him excluded and he doesn’t want that and neither do it. I am so grateful to have him in my life and respect any decision he makes.

Next installment…first day options[/QUOTE]
Wow that sentence just got to me. I know what you mean. Not about the chair and certainly not to the same degree but I feel the same way about having my eyes opened. Since my DH's accident several years ago I have been with him through manual wheelchairs, crutches, canes, now he'll be using a walker. When we had some problems with accessability on our cruise this November I told them that they coulden't understand how many things can be an obstacle unless they had had to look at things like that. I certainly diden't until I met John. Now I can look at a room and tell if it will work. He doesn't have as many issues with accesibility as many people but even when he's walking there are things that just don't work for him.

The new chair is certainly shiny with all the bells and whistles but I can see why Bill would rather use the old one at WDW if he knows he can do the things he want to in it. Having read your past reports I know how important WDW is to both of you it would be a shame for him to feel excluded from any part of it.
The trip sounds like so much fun. I'm sure AKL will be gorgeous at Christmastime. I can't wait to read all about your plans.

Oh, and after a few Lapu Lapu's Bill maybe getting some of this action... :love1:

Hmmm what is Terry going to think of that? :eek:

I do the same thing about looking at a room, venue, concert, etc to see if there will be any obstacles for Bill's chair, it comes natural to me now. You are so right about Bill not wanting to be excluded. Thank you so much for reading along.

Tracy, I wanted to pop in and tell you that I have begun reading your first report... Ace, Me, & the Guy with CP. I'm on the 11th installment and I have to tell you that I feel like I know you and Bill. I teared up when you wrote about your Mother being the preperation for falling for someone with a disability. I am so in awe at your abilities. You have such a large heart and I love you for that. I just found you on facebook and being the wonderful stalker that I am, I added you as a friend. I can't wait until November/December when I get to meet you and Bill! I'm going back to reading now!

Hi Bill!!

:hug:

Oh yeah, I also think its cute that you 2 are an internet romance that went well!

The first time I saw Eric we were at a mutual friends party. Everyone was drunk....I mean Super-Drunk. It was insane. I was 20 and a rebel so I was W.A.S.T.E.D! We were all hanging out in the kitchen and being 4 ft 11 I grew tired of looking up to people. In my drunked state I found a beer cooler and stood on it. Best decision of my life. I saw this guy walk in. He looked at me (drunk ginger midget on a cooler) and walked into the other room to see some friends. We never spoke. I got home that night and told my mom that I had seen the man I was going to marry. WebTV was big at that time and alot of localities had their own chat rooms. My friend told me to log on and told me what Erics screen name was. We started chatting online and after about 2 weeks we decided to meet up. He was already in the military at the time and I lived pretty close to the base so he asked if I wanted to meet at Burger King for a quick dinner. He only had a 30 minute dinner at the time. I agreed and after we ate I followed him to his work. WARNING: the most romantical night of my life...........
He works on jets loading missles onto them so We spent about 5 hours sitting right on the Flight Line watching the jets take off and land. it was amazing. I have grown up around these jets but for some reason it was different.

We have been married for almost 10 years now and have 2 little hobo's living with us. They claim to be our children but until Maury proves it they will remain hobo's!

I wish you and Bill the same joy and luck that I have been blessed with!

Okay, still pics only.... That's cool... We can work with that... :)

:scared1:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lot of the midwest/south has been having storms this weekend including us. As some of you know Ace is terrified of storms. A big thunderclap literally scared the pee out of him today :sad2:. The storm passed and he wanted to look out the sliding doors, we had the curtains closed because if he sees lightning he freaks out so he will go behind the curtain. We saw this:
His safe place now when he is scared is beside Bill's desk for some reason, he was worn out from being scared and went to lay down over there. He is like this as I type:
This weather will be here for another month or so, I just wish he wasn't so scared, it is sad to see him like that. It is time to start giving him benedryl again to mellow him out like the vet said, I hate to do it but you should see how badly he shakes :sad1:.
Poor Ace... :guilty:
Shelby is allergic to bee stings... We have to have benedryl on hand for her at all times... I have doses in all vehicles and everything... very scary when her face swells up and her airway gets cut off... :sad2:
I just read on BBC news about the storms. I guess that tornado was only like 20 minutes north of maroo, but it's sad to see people dying from them!! I guess even with a full day's warning it's hard to escape them. Be safe, my friends!
Does Ace like to be cuddled during the storms? Is that possible?
OH no that is so sad about Shelby, I would freak out if Ace started swelling up, thank goodness you have stuff readily available to help.
You just never know when a tornado will touch down, scary stuff.
As for Ace, "experts" tell you not to cuddle them when they are freaked out that it just reinforces the behavior, but it is our furbaby so I would try anything. Sometimes he will jump on the couch and get in my lap no matter what I am doing, if he does that I am not going to tell him no, but lately he seems to feel more safe right by Bill's desk and by Bill, he loves his daddy.
I wouldn't be so worried about it if she didn't have a habit of chasing the bees and trying to eat them!!! :rolleyes:
The first time I totally freaked out... Called Terry's work and told them I thought his dog was dying!! He was home within 10 minutes... I called the vet and they had me start the benedryl and hold her lips up so she could breathe easier... It helped relieve the swelling pressure so she could get air...
Sweet story! :love: My son does the same job at the base here. It's a training base. I fell in love with my DH love at first sight, too! We'll be married 30 years in Sept.
Poor baby. That reminds me of our Chesapeake - one day he came in to the kitchen and he looked like a cartoon dog - HUGE snout! I called the vet and he said to give him Benadryl - he probably got in to a dead muskrat in the canal full of bees! We couldn't help but laugh he looked so comical!:rotfl2:
I already told you that the button is a requirement!!!
I am getting my birthday button and the anniversary button!!!
:woohoo:
