Don't stop believing... "Major change 6/23 The Circle of Life"

Tracy,

Thank you for posting that. On my family trip in 2006 I told my family I "didn't feel like riding RnRC" but it really was b/c I was afraid I wasn't going to fit. We avoided it on our Disneymoon b/c I was afraid we weren't going to fit. I researched a bit (Actually, I googled...) and decided I was going to try RnRC this past trip (Dec. 09) and WE FIT. I felt so great about myself and a little frustrated at the same time b/c I held myself back from enjoying it.

You sound like such a wonderful person. Again, Thank You. :)

Tracy, I have to tell you something. I am your friend on FB and I have seen many pics of you.....YOU LOOK GREAT TO ME!

I am by no means a small person on the outside......I am on the inside though!:lmao: I am sure that it was a little tough to post that but I bet there are tons of people who appreciate it! You are a tough broad.......48 miles, holy crap! That makes me tired just reading it! I am glad that Disney is so accomodating (sp?). I too firmly believe in pills! When I travel I take a pharmacy with me. Just in case! If I am going somewhere my goal is at least 2 Epi-Pens per day....I am allergic to everything and get new allergies day by day! The last thing anyone wants to do is be in pain on a vacation! What I will say about the sore piggies (feet) is that its one of those "hurts so good" things for me. Hurts like a mo-frackie but the reasoning behind the pain is good!

We all have a few pounds to lose....we all know that. I believe that self-image is what matters....well, health too. If you feel good then you look good to me!

Thank you for your post.

Thanks for the compliment, I am bigger in person than the pictures show :lmao:. I am so sorry to hear about your allergies. You cracked me up about the "sore piggies" :rotfl:. Bill has helped me tremendously with the self image.

Tracy,

What a wonderful person you are for posting that and you have helped more people than you will ever know by doing it!!!:flower3:

Thank you so much, I was worried about posting that but I felt it might help someone.

I am so happy you went on RnRC!! I know the frustration of holding yourself back, I am glad you didn't let the fear get to you. Thanks for reading.

I was behind on a few updates. Thanks for sharing the wheelchair info with us. Also, thanks for being so brave as to share your insights on rides etc. I have a friend who is considering a trip. When we spoke of it she kind of "asked around the fiting" issue. Now I can share some of the things you did with us :)

Tracy I too think it's wonderful that you posted all of that helpful information. You've read my report so you know that our last trip was John's idea and he was very excited about it. About 1 month or so before we were to leave he started acting funny whenever I mentioned it. Finally he admitted how worried he was about fitting into places and on rides. We had gone to a local amusement park over the summer as a trial with the kids and he had trouble fitting on one of the rides. The kid working there wasen't too understanding and he was very embarrassed. He had secretly determined to lose weight before WDW when he haden't manged to lose more than a few pounds he had started rethinking the whole plan, wondering how he could share in a magical trip with his kids if he coulden't fit on the rides. I did some research and found many of the tips you just shared (not all though, I would have loved to have found a complete post like yours.) Every story you share about accessability eigther for you or Bill can be of help to someone out there and I really admire you for posting about your experiences to help others.

This is hard for me to talk about actually

and I would appreciate no flames for putting myself into this situation I fully acknowledge I got myself into the overweight mess I am in now. I am a work in progress, it took a long time to get this way and it will take a long time to get out of it. I know there are many overweight people that go to Disney so I figured why not share my experiences on the issue? So here it goes:

I hate that you had to even worry about being flamed. :grouphug: I'm a small person, but a lot of that is due to random luck in the genetics wheel of fortune as my mom is large and so I always assumed I would be, too. From what I've seen, you are a beautiful person inside and out.

Hi Tracy!

Sorry I've missed a couple of updates due to the long holiday over here, but am so thankful that you took a risk and posted that- I know so many others will really be helped by the sensitive and thorough way you presented it.

Once again, KUDOS to a job well done!

Rebecca~

I so sorry for the pain and unknowns you are facing with your mom. What a hard road to travel. Sounds like you have a wonderfully close and supportive family, and I know that will make all the difference in the world! Praying for you, Darlin'!

Wecome Amber!! Looks like we will be at the Poly at the same time . Have you ever stayed there before? I hope you start a PTR, I would read it.

Yes and yes! haha, Last year i was lucky enough to win a trip, i could go any place i wanted in the US so i picked Disney haha. Since it was not our dime we stayed at the Poly and we are hooked now! We were lucky enough to get a 40% off code so we figured we stay at the Poly again. This will be our first time using dining plan tho.

Here is my trip report :D

Hey guys, I am still here. I am in lurk mode for now though. My mom finally "filled" us in about some of the results. She didn't go into detail though. We all told her that we will be right here with her through everything. She doesn't want to hear us right now though. I understand that. She told me this morning that she is worried and that she wants space from us all until she has answers. I told her that we will do anything she wants but to remember that we are here for her.

I am keeping up with everyones reports but, Im laying low right now. You guys can't get rid of me that easily! Love ya!!!!!!!!
big HUGS.....i can understand her feelings, but i know it is hard on you to be in this limbo of the unknown about her. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks so much for posting the honest info about being overweight at disney. i bet a LOT of people are too scared or embarrassed to ask and you probably just helped a bunch of folks!!! so thanks. My mom and sister both struggle with their weight too and my mom was concerned about some rides as well, the seatbelts etc. I know she had some anxiety over it. Thank you so much for sharing!!! I do love the fact that anyone is welcome- no matter what size, shape, color or creed at disney. It is something most everyone can enjoy and appreciate!

thank you so much for your kind words. I hope John tries all the rides he wants to do. Bill taught me to not let fear hold me back.

Congrats on winning that trip and picking the Poly. Don't you just love Disney codes?? I do! We like the dining plan for the convience factor, I know the meal is pre paid and I just have to budget for tips, just makes it easier for me. I hope you like it. I will be headed over to your PTR right after I post this.

I feel your frustration. I know Bill's Mom especially thinks we are nuts for going back to Disney so often. She asked me one time when we were in the Smoky Mountains with them: "Do you think you and Bill will ever want to go somewhere else?". I wanted to say "You BUILT a house in your preferred vacation location, so can't you get why we would like going the same place again and again.

Vent any time!

I know what you mean

I think a lot of us on the Dis boards get a lot of questions about our vacation choice. My teenager tells me all the time that I need a Disney intervention and I always reply... is that like a Disney party?... sign me up!!!

My kids love that we go there every year and they know a lot of kids that have never been there so they know how lucky they are, and lucky that they have a mom that loves to be a kid at WDW!!!:cheer2::cool1::banana:

Ok Tracy,

did you call yet?

I don't know if it was my fuzzy connection due to my stinky cell phone or I had a cranky CM...because I called DD twice this morning and the 2nd person I talked to was just lovely (that was about BBB though)...:confused3

anyways so I asked about the CLP dining pkg...and what you thought was what I was told.

* schedule not out yet

* can not give more info till schedule is out

* need to call Disney Dining to book, not online

* Can not book till after the schedule is out...looking at maybe August...she was not clear on when the schedule would be released

* You have to book your meal time in those tiny time windows based on which show you want to see...she stated the time you gave me of 1:45-2:45 pm for lunch for the 5:00 pm was approximately correct.

well for us, since my ADR day is next Monday I am going to book 2 reg 1 credit TS meals as back up so if when in August at the 90 day out of our day (11-27) we want to do the CLP pkg doesn't work out we don't need to scramble to find dining. If it works I'll cancel the other too...or possibly just change our minds all together on the pkg...and try our luck w/ the line

hope that's helpful...happy to hear what you get told and your plan.

Scrappie J~
