Oh wow. I tried asking about this before and no one really gave me a good answer!

My kids have had the best time trading! The CMs have always been SOOO nice, talking with them about what pins they like, where/when did they get them, always offering any of their pins. Often CMs will initiate the pin conversation with them! It's a fun addition for us as APs. We don't bring pins every time, just sometimes.

BTW, when pin trading the CM's will be sure that your pin has the Disney copyright so please be sure your pins are good Disney pins.

We've also given away a bunch of pins to kids just starting out, we tend to be generous with our pins. It's fun....but addicting and can be very expensive.

I actually just bought a bunch of pins (hope they're all good--it was supposedly a reliable seller) with the intent of giving away a few to kids if I see them do something nice . . . . or if they are having a total meltdown!

Meltdown? What happened to good ol' fashioned spankings? If your intent is to give them to other kids who're having a meltdown can I suggest an alternative that is very effective and allows you to keep your pins.

If I see a kit having a fit I simply walk by and accidentally spill a beverage on their head. I apologize the the parents and move along. I use the water from the fountains so I'm not out a pricey beverage. I also take care not to get their clothes wet because that's just mean.

CM will get pins for trading that are not available for purchase, those must be traded for.

There is one circumstance where a CM will not trade. You cant give a CM a pin they already have. One of the rules, NO TWO OF THE SAME PINS ON ONE LANYARD! Ofc, you might have to sweet talk them to do so... Sometimes, the CM will just reverse the pins and hide it!

Yeah, a lot of CMs do it now to throw out the hidden mickey pins...

On the subject of wearing pants.. There was a girl at the park in line for strollers and she was wearing a long shirt that was white and completely see through. She had on a thong and no bra and evrytime she bent over you could see... Well, it's not something that I want my kids, or even my DH to see. She was a hot chick, tall, tan, enhanced and every eye was on her, but there are a lot of kids at the park and she was more suited for a strip club.

I think part of the "crack addicts" could also be all of the butt cracks you see around the parks. PULL YOUR PANTS UP! Or wear a longer shirt. No one wants to see that. I especially don't like seeing 6 butt cracks all getting off Space Mountain at the same time. UGH! Nasty.

And Albort, I don't ask the CM's to trade things that they already have but my girls have occasionally given them one not realizing they already had it, those CM's have always been gracious and simply put it in their pocket to be added later. But yes, CM's as a general rule, will not trade for a pin they already have on their lanyard. Thanks for pointing that out.
