DON'T Read This TRIP REPORT If You're a Princess Hater!

That makes sense because we went in 9/07 and I booked that trip in 4/07 - so I probably found your trip report while I was planning :thumbsup2 or I saw you on the Pop picture thread and BBB threads. Did you do a trip report for that trip?

I did a quickie dining report. I don't know if I ever did a TR or not for sure. I don't think ,but I did post pics in other rports from that trip

The more I think about it, I think I first saw you on the Pop photothread and the BBB thread for the trip that you ended up cancelling BBB because Claire wasn't feeling well that day.

Yep, that was 2008. I think I found a lot of people via the pop thread. LOL

Wow! you have great pictures from MSEP! What setting did you use on your camera?:confused3 My camera may just not be good enough.

I love Katie's top 6 list! I think it proves that kids are still thrilled with the little things in life. Oh to be young again! ;)

Hi Janet! I just read your December 2010 Trip Report, and I enjoyed it very much! It really looks like you and Katie had a great time! Thank you for sharing your experiences and photos!

I do like that time of year. I belive that Sudnay had a cold spell and I was wearing my winter jacket that night, but it warmed up as the week went on. I think our 2008 trip had just about perfect weather and corwds were really low that year.

It really was a lovely time to be there. Made even lovelier by the option of attending the Pirate & Princess Party! We only did one MK day, one AK day and the party, then headed for the boys' true destination..... Sanibel Island.

We never got to the P&PP's, everyone who went though seems to be disappointed that they stopped them. Probably because they weren't crowded - but then that's probably why they stopped having them - oh the irony!

You're absolutely right about that! And for that reason it probably never will come back. But mostly I just loved that it opened up a whole other time of the off-season we could go and still experience a hard-ticketed party.

I did a quickie dining report. I don't know if I ever did a TR or not for sure. I don't think ,but I did post pics in other rports from that trip

What.... no trip report???????

When your're done with the 38 trip reports your're doing now, maybe you could go back and do that one! :lmao:

Wow! you have great pictures from MSEP! What setting did you use on your camera?:confused3 My camera may just not be good enough.

Many thanks!

I started with cranking my ISO up to 3200. One of my favorite features of my T2i is the good performance at high ISO's. Since it's a moving parade, I needed a fairly fast shutter speed to avoid any blur. So I went shutter priority around 1/125, keeping an eye on the aperture to make sure it wasn't too wide open to prevent Depth of field issues. I probably could have gone a little slower on the shutter speed and still been fine though.

I love Katie's top 6 list! I think it proves that kids are still thrilled with the little things in life. Oh to be young again! ;)

LOL! Ain't that the truth!

When I get a minute I'll post a copy of the scrapbook page I did listing these out.

Hi! And :welcome: to the party!

Many thanks for reading along!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday and that anyone on the East coast who lost power has it up and running soon. We were without power for 4 days in a huge ice storm in 2001 and I squealed like a stuck pig. We were staying with my in-laws with a 1 year old........ and it was a LONG 4 days. Seriously though, I hope everyone is safe and sound.

Time to finish out our top 6 list.

I actually messed up yesterday. So that makes this pretty anti-climactic.... Katie's second favorite was Meeting Marie....... so...... here's the corrected list........

6. Plane Crackers
5. Riding Space Mountain and Everest
4. Playing the instruments at the cart in AK while I checked in for Tusker House
3. The tube of candy she got at MVMCP they wouldn't let us pay for while waiting for Snow White to show up!
2. Meeting Marie

And her favorite thing of the whole trip..........

1. Pick-a-Pearl!

And here's mine:

6. Seeing Katie in her Red Belle at the Chrismtas party
5. Riding thrill rides with Katie
4. Our very own personal Fairy Godmother!
3. Pick a Pearl!
2. Eating in the castle 3 times!

And my favorite is pretty anti-climactic too since anyone who knows me knows it was getting the photo op i my signature. No surprises there! :goodvibes

Oh, Janet, I love this! Eve and I are back home (having missed the earthquake and Hurricane Irene in Virginia). It has taken me a week, but we are back to school now and life is moving forward.

Eve and Katie think a lot alike. I asked Eve for a Top Ten List, and here is what she said:

10. Tie: Eating shrimp and competing in the coconut races at 'Ohana AND dining with Remy in France at Epcot

9. Getting drenched on Kali River Rapids!

8. Living it up at the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue. Eve loved the whole show--the music, the jokes, the dancing, AND the ribs and strawberry shortcake. She loved playing the washboard and twirling her napkin in the air. Plus, she loved that all of the entertainers stopped by our table to notice her latest Webkinz, a signature camel.

7. Dining with Chip 'n' Dale and Farmer Mickey & Pluto at the Garden Grill in Epcot. Eve loved that the restaurant spins in a circle to show off the Living with the Land attraction. Afterwards, we took the boat ride, and Eve actually asked if she could take the walking tour offered in The Land. We will have to squeeze that in next trip--she is really interested.

6. Riding Test Track in Epcot and Expedition Everest at the Animal Kingdom.

5. Riding a tea cup on the carousel at Downtown Disney. She spun so fast that I thought she might fly off the ride!

4. Watching the animals from the windows at Kidani Village and working with the cast members to make a wreath for the giraffes to eat and a pine cone bird feeder for the birds.

3. Feeding the ducks part of her ice cream cone at the entrance to World Showcase in Epcot

2. Tie: Meeting Marie in France at Epcot and being a special agent in the Kim-Possible Adventure in World Showcase.

1. Pick a Pearl in Japan at Epcot (We went twice this trip! The first time, she found a silver pearl, which they said is rare--only 5% are silver, and the second time she found a big gold pearl. We had the silver pearl set in a clam shell. Eve treasures it!)

Are you excited about December? We may wait for a December trip until 2012. We did have a wonderful trip last month, though, and I love my new camera. I want to try MNSSHP, so maybe 2012 will be the year I buy an annual pass and go summer, fall, and winter. Wouldn't that be fun? :yay:

It's funny. Every year, Evie has had a favorite park.

When she was 2 years old, it was the Magic Kingdom. She LOVED the Winnie the Pooh playground.

When she was 4, it was the Animal Kingdom. She could have spent the entire trip at the Bone Yard, and she loved Kali River Rapids.

When she was 5, it was actually not a park, but the pools. She loved sliding down the jaguar slide at the pool at Coronado Springs Resort and playing at the Dig Site, and she loved the slide at the Contemporary Resort when we moved to our room at Bay Lake Tower.

When she was 6, it was Disney Studios. She loved the art lessons and drawing all of the different Disney characters, and she loved the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground. We could have spent the entire trip at Disney Studios, and she would have been happy.

And this trip, at age 7, it was Epcot. She loved the Pick a Pearl Station in Japan. She love the Kim-Possible adventure. She loved seeing Marie and dining with Remy in France. Test Track was her favorite ride of the trip. She was an Epcot girl through and through this time!

I can't wait to hear more about your plans for December. I am going to live vicariously for the next few months! Hugs!:goodvibes

4. Watching the animals from the windows at Kidani Village and working with the cast members to make a wreath for the giraffes to eat and a pine cone bird feeder for the birds.

Amy - Can you tell me more about the giraffe wreath part?!?! We are staying the first 2 nights at AKL as a surprise for my animal loving 8yo and this sounds so wonderful for her. Thanks!

I just found your trip report but wanted to tell you, the costumes you make are amazing. You are a wonderful seamstress. Your daughter is very lucky.

Hi Amy! I wondered how your trip went. I bet you're suffering the Disney blues long about now. That's the worst part about going....... the coming back........

Thank you so much for sharing Evie's list of favorites as well. It was so fun to see how similar they were...... right down to pick a pearl being their #1 favorite. I need to find some sort of pearl cage to bring along and do it again this time.

It really IS the little things that their attention, isn't it?

And I love your list of her favorite parks through the years. Do you scrapbook? That would make such an awesome page!

It sounds like you need to take me dream trip and go the end of October for MNSSHP and stay just long enough for MVMCP!

Maybe in 2 years we'll get to go to MNSSHP. I would give the weather a try in late October, but I'm just too much of a whimp to go in September, or even early October. And with Timmy running cross country late October is out until he starts college.

I just found your trip report but wanted to tell you, the costumes you make are amazing. You are a wonderful seamstress. Your daughter is very lucky.

Many thanks and :welcome:

I'm glad you found us!

I want to cancel my trip and join yours instead :rotfl2: Ok - not really - but Oh my goodness that sounds like a wonderful trip! I love that Katie and her friend are going to be Anastasia and Drizella at Park Fare :thumbsup2 Does Katie have time off of school during that span? (No issue for me if she doesn't -I'm just curious because I wish Maddie did ;) )

LOL! We have the Katie and Janet with Dad portion of the trip, and the girls only part of the trip, and the time with our best friends part of the trip....... we'd be happy to add a few days with Joy and Maddie! :dance3:

Turns out we're eating 1900 Park Fare twice in the same day. But heck, we ate CRT twice in one day a few years ago!

Katie doesn't get out for Christmas until the 21st. So she'll be missing 6 days near the end of the semester. It's never been a problem before, so we're not worried. With the perspective of having Robbie graduate this spring, and having Timmy in a pile of AP classes this year....... I'm not worried about her missing 6 days of elementary school. We also know that this time goes SO fast. And soon enough she'll be busy with friends and extracurricular activities and maybe not want to miss......... so I'm taking all these opportunities while I can. :goodvibes

We subscribe to the "work hard so you can play hard" philosophy in life!:thumbsup2

Wouldn't that be awesome! I originally wanted to go in December - but November just worked out better for us. The only thing we're missing that I wish we were seeing is Christmas Around the World at World Showcase. I think I'd really like the Candlelight Processional too - someday maybe.

I agree with you on school - Maddie is missing school too. The memories you are making with Katie are priceless!

That does look like a pretty awesome trip you have lined up! I totally agree, elementary school is important, but these are opportunities you won't have as Katie gets older, take advantage while you can!

Well, it's about time! You've been back for...... well........ at least a few days now! :lmao:

Sam still doing OK at school?

I know, I know! Just because last time I started the TR within 24 hours! This trip kicked my butt! It was the heat that did it!

Sammy's doing well, but bored is a word that had been tossed around by her. I guess I get it, her classes are about 3-4 hours a day right now, and she has 1 online class. Then she sits and states into the 4 walls of her dorm. I told her maybe find some clubs or activies and she did.
She's now a member of the Nurses Club, a volnteer club for comm. service, and has started walking in the late afternoons with a group of girls.
I think it just took some time to get aclimated.

Robby doing well with the driving and all?

We have then exact same thoughts!:thumbsup2 They are only young once, and we took for advantage of that on the trip!
