DON'T Read This TRIP REPORT If You're a Princess Hater!

Well I THOUGHT they had all come together..... As soon as I put that down in writing, my husband now is wondering whether we should come in one night sooner. Hmmmmmm.......... that would be a PITA to change stuff yet AGAIN........ but........ for another night at Disney? What the heck........

I'm back to being a little nervous about that early ticket pick-up though. Back to nail-biting time again I guess!

It really has been great to have my focus on something fun again!

You could do a full day at DTD and then do the campfire over at Ft. Wilderness if you come in early. I actually didn't get to do all I wanted to on that early free day I had. And your DH might enjoy a little down time...well it's not down time, but not go go go of the parks.

Hey JEN!

Where did you get your tie dye Mickey shirts? I'm thinking it would be fun to get some for the 3 of us. You know how men love wearing matchy matchy stuff!

I'll email you the info.

I actually think this would be a fun day. But the only reason we might add another day would be to get the park day. Unless we do, the only day he'd be at the MK would also be our party day. While Katie and I are good to go with a 16 hour day....... I know he wouldn't be. If we leave and rest in the afternoon, he'll want to spend the whole party riding rides, which I don't want to do. If we can get in a day sooner, we'd do the MK on Friday, then add half a morning at AK the day of the party, with some rest in the afternoon.

I'll email you the info.

Thanks Jen!

Hi!

i was there too on December from the 10 to the 15 i was at the All star Movies, we also have trouble with our keys and they give us 1 free ticket for each one, i was there with my husband and sister and a friend,..it was so cold i remember the pain in the face from the cold wind, but still a great trip to remember...

i absolutely loved your daughter costumes W O W !! when i have a daughter i would definitely try to do the same...

i hope you post a summary of all your daughters costumes LOVED IT

(hope my English is not too bad, i´m from Mexico so my native language is Spanish ;) )

You did great with your English. Thanks for reading along nad for the kind comments!

Last year was certainly one for the record books. But I'm such a whimp in hot weather, I decided I had to take a chance on cold rather than taking a chance on hot.

The other deciding factor on our dates had to do with my son who just started college. He'll be finishing finals as we leave. I didn't want to leave him driving back and forth across town without one of us there to call if there's a problem.

YEAH!!! :cool1: Thanks for the link!

You're NOT suposed to let him have any choices...haven't I taught you that...or if they want to do something you don't want, then you let them go off on there own, like you are allowing him some control, but actually it is giving you a break. LOL! :rotfl2:

We asked about picking up tickets at the AEP and they all seemed wishy washy about it, but one person told us yes.

LOL! I'm more concerned about maintaining peace in our happy place. This will be a new way of going to Disney. Last time my husband came along, Timmy was there too, so it was easy to split up and have them go do something if we wanted some girly time. Since these would be "extra" days, we can do mostly what he wants, and do the girly stuff later with nobody to complain. It's the best of both worlds. But I guarantee you he won't like being in the MK 16 hours. My ONLY request is that we not spend the party doing rides.

And if they were wishy washy about getting tickets early, it sounds like you got an accurate answer!! :rotfl2: Because "wishy washy" appears to be the official company position on it!

I have a bunch of threads on this marked and have asked people to keep reporting back on their success with it. We should have a pretty good idea of what to expect when we get there.

I cut back my package tickets to the minimum 2 days. My fallback position would be to buy a one day ticket for Drew then upgrade his 2 to 3 when we get it. Then keep Katie's and my 2 day tickets for another trip and buy new tickets. I REALLY don't want to do this, but it would do in a pinch..... and would have the added benefit of making the next trip easier to plan...... :rolleyes1 Plus, I think DL takes WDW tickets, just not the opposite. So maybe a quick Halloween trip next year or something.

We thought about arriving on Friday and doing the party that night, but Saturday we're going to DHS, and while Katie and I don't care about TSMM, Drew does. I think he thinks I'm lying when I say we won't get FP's if we get there too late. Silly boy........

Just wanted to drop by and say at 22 years old i am still in love with princesses and LOVED your trip report. Katie's outfits are beautfiul :) :lovestruc

I have a 3 year old boy and I must say Disney seems so much more fun for mommys with little girls - although BatB is a favorite of his! LoL :lmao:

Thank you! :goodvibes

We love BATB, and I think it's cool that your little boy does too!

I actually am sorry I didn't get my boys there more when they were little. With all the Toy Story and pirate stuff, there's lots for them too.

I'm not sure if the tickets are tied to a name until you actually use them. You may be able to save Drew's for a future trip too.

I think you're right about that. I would just need to check out the price and see which would be better. I can't remember if it's the 4th or the 5th day where the per day price drops.

Life is still pretty nuts around here, but with any luck I won't be driving to Rockhurst University next week. Fingers crossed.......... maybe life can get back closer to normal again.

I just realized I didn't update our favorites list yesterday. So here goes........

Here's Katie's:

6. Plane Crackers
5. Riding Space Mountain and Everest
4. Playing the instruments at the cart in AK while I checked in for Tusker House
3. The tube of candy she got at MVMCP they wouldn't let us pay for while waiting for Snow White to show up!

and number 2.....................

Pick A Pearl! :yay:

And here's mine:

6. Seeing Katie in her Red Belle at the Chrismtas party
5. Riding thrill rides with Katie
4. Our very own personal Fairy Godmother!
3. Pick a Pearl!

and my number 2..............

Eating in the castle 3 times!

The part-time hubby trip worked well for us. We could go a little radiating four days and knew we still had 5 full days to do anything we missed and all ourfVorites. Worked for my non-Disney, non-traveling husband who was going with us that ONE time and now actually asked to go again...in five years when the baby is older. Lol

I actually think it will be the perfect trip. You know..... once he QUITS changing his mind on stuff! I actually considered buying Airtran plane tickets even though it would cost us more with the baggage fees....... just BECAUSE they are nonrefundable! :rotfl2:

Carey, I enjoyed seeing your photos of Sam heading off to school in your TR. While Robbie is commuting, I still managed to take a few at Orientation last week and wanted to share my own obligatory photo in front of the school sign!

Janet - who do you get all of Katie's patchwork skirt/top sets from? I didn't think you made those - apologies if I am wrong. I just love them (along with the beautiful princess dresses of course)

Thanks Joy! I don't do applique work. So I subcontract out that part.... and assemble them myself, for the most part. Gretchen, who posted some early in the TR does the smaller applique work and sells on Ebay as scrapsofheaven. She also did the entire winter princess and Cindy skirts.

Shannon posted a little early in the TR too. Her ID here on the DIS is revrob. She did the big appliques.

They both do awesome work. I'm already racking my brain for new inspiration for this upcoming trip.

Thank-you!:goodvibes Nice picture:thumbsup2 I offered to buy Sam a college t-shirt so she could wear it for a picture but she said no. When we went to the bookstore to pick up her books, they gave her a free t-shirt for pre-ordering her books! And I also got a no on taking a another photo w/ new shirt:sad2:

Sam ,as usual, was like "MOM! why do you have to take pictures of everything!!"

Someday they'll thank us!

LOL! Robbie's wardrobe is now mostly Rockhurst t-shirts. So I didn't even have to ask. :-)

I knew that I needed a few photos of him on campus before school started, so I threw the camera in my bag that day we were going to orientation. I was surprised when I asked to take a couple photos and he said yes. Then I told him I needed to find a sign with the school name and he actually reminded me of the arch out front! I think he regretted it, but he was still a good sport. Of course, it helped my cause that there were other parents there with cameras out.

Right before we left the Rockhurst hawk mascot came out for the dance party that was going to start. I knew better than to push my luck and get him in the photo with Robbie, but I did snap a couple of the hawk dancing away! :rotfl:

OMG! The mascot for Marian is a Sabre, and there was one roaming around saying welcome, I looked at Sam and was about to ask, and she said" Don't even think about it" :rotfl:
