Wait...we ate at Cape May TWICE and never got any candy!! I feel ripped off now (OK, to be honest, I probably wouldn't eat taffy after too many of those yummy oreo bonbons but the boys would have liked them!)

Anita and Marc sure are making Chicago sound fun! (It is!) Where are you staying that you have to keep taking the train every day?

Traffic? Have you ever driven DC around rush hour? NO, because you don't actually DRIVE, you park on the highway and don't move for 45 minutes! Worse than Atlanta too. Minneapolis/St. Paul is a piece of cake compared to those horrors!

Jen, you really should come up to Chicago and play! What fun -- We should do a Segway dismeet! Anita and Marc said they want to come back up and bring Baylor, so we would have a fun crowd. Our Taste of Chicago meet was way too short. Such warm, charming people. But I had my limpy-gimpy baby girl waiting for me, so I had to run before I could hear all about Marc's conference and their post-conf fun. Plus, I had kinda been hoping Anita could get DH to OK my October girls' trip. She seems to have the touch!

Congrats to Mickey_Mom!!! Nice guesswork. I'm still scratching my head over how they racked up quite so many miles. They were at sea half the time, for crying out loud! Anywho, super-cute Mickey cling.

Oh, that fireworks ban stinks!! There's actually talks of legalizing fireworks sales in MA. Of course, people still set them off here, since all they have to do is drive up just past the New Hampshire border and buy them.

Boo to fireworks bans, that has happened to us elsewhere a couple of times on vacation and it's SO wider not to have them!

Fun update. I'll give you orange if we ever eat at Cape May for dinner....not sure what the other flavors are. I'm meh about orange taffy. I'd eat it but...not kill for it.

Jen congrats to you DH on his new job! My son and his wife moved to Austin at the end of November and he is still looking for a position. She is working at a lab. He graduated May 2010 with his music education degree. Hopefully things will get better for him too. When we come to visit we'll have to try to meet.

Sounds like you conference in Houston was a big hit. Traffic there is terrible. DH has a lot of family there so we've made many a trip there. One cousin is a Houston city cop and another is a State Trooper.

Loved Cape May! We tried it for the first time on our last trip. I could eat crab legs non stop. So glad y'all enjoyed it. Too bad Baylor was NOT there. Even better that you meet up with Brook.

Congrats on helping Brook reach her goal. Sounds like it was a lot of fun to conquer that challenge. I don't think I have ever ridden the Land at night but now I really want to try it.

Anita I've been following along on FB with your Chicago trip. What a fun filled trip with lots of shopping!
