Mary Poppins was one of my favorites growing up. I loved it then & love it still. I was excited to show my kids and none of them like it. They declare it boring!

thanks! it was all pretty quick and simple and easy to clean up (which I always appreciate), and I didn't even poke an eye out on the unlucky, low hanging umbrella!

we're 50/50 on liking the movie. although they both fell asleep (not surprising after playing outside most of the afternoon), we watched it again the next afternoon. Hannah really liked it and wants to meet mary at MK now. Madison says she doesn't like it. I like it better as an adult now (especially the songs) then I ever did as a kid. maybe it'll grow on maddie....
(people always ask me if that's my favorite movie since I'm a nanny. that or nanny McPhee. they always seem surprised when I say no... )


side note: the anna and elsa fabric I ordered in February FINALLY came the other day! I'm so excited! I think i'm going to trim some off to use when I make frozen skirts for the girls. the rest will be for pillowcases for anna and elsa to sign. man, i'd better make sure we get those meet and greet fastpasses or i'm going to be in serious trouble around here!

We managed (by luck and a friend looking out) to snag FP for June 7th (after our cruise). We had to keep checking daily to see if they opened up.

I have a friend from work there right now. She was not able to get any. So she decided she was going to do rope drop dash this morning. Literally, she RAN down Main Street to get in line. And arrived to find a 240 Minute wait. AT ROPE DROP! That's FOUR HOURS if anyone is counting.. AT ROPE DROP.

are you flippin' kidding me? that is absolute crazy business! I don't understand why they don't make more than one place to meet them? it would seem like the best solution.

i'm planning to get online on our 61st day at 10:55 pm our time and get all ready so that at 11 (12 eastern) on our 60th day I can try to get it right away (like i'm the only one to come up with that idea, right?). i'm just going to pick whatever anna and elsa thing comes up and take it, then I'll go back in and change the other things it automatically gave us as a suggestion. I just don't want to miss a fastpass for them. keeping my fingers crossed that plan actually works....

Omg I'm finally caught up on your PTR!

I can't remember all of the things I thought of while catching up but I'll try!

I feel like I read recently that if you make an ADR at Tony's slightly before parade time, and show up early for your ADR and request a patio table, you can see the parade from your table! I don't know if that's an option for you or if you'd rather be closer to see the parade but that would be an option to have a nice sit-down meal and see the parade and not feel like you're wasting park time!

We did LTT for dinner last time and weren't over the moon about it. Dinner was family style and the food was good but nothing so special. Lunch is a regular menu and we liked that a lot more so I think Tony's is a better option.

If you have any questions about the halloween party, let me know! As you know we did 2 in September and I think you're smart to not try to do too many character meets cause we spent a lot of time running around trying to get to things. With little ones, that's definitely harder! I think your most recent plans for the party sounded good-- prioritize a few characters & get to the most important one early and then enjoy!

The only thing I'd be careful of is I saw you said you wanted to meet Aladdin and Jasmine and you had it at the end of the night. I know when we went, the lines for their sets were cut off early (before midnight) and usually, they rotate and Aladdin meets with Abu and Jasmine with Genie.

All your sewing projects are so cute and making me want to learn how to do it! Do you do classes? I LOVE the outfits you made for Denovagirl for HDDR and her anniversary shirts for you guys are precious!

I need to catch up on your TR now too!

I sort of hope she doesn't since that would save a lot of time, but I also want her to do it if she wants since we won't see him anywhere else. Decisions decisions! i did!!! So excited!! I'm going to try to switch to CBR when it opens to the general public. I was thinking I'd just stay at ASMo and change to FD but ASMo isn't included in the FD deal and, I couldn't believe it, but it's cheaper to stay at CBR with free dining (and I'm all about saving some $ since this will be our second trip this year). Plus, I'd like to try somewhere new and I'm sure we'll be back to a value on future trips. Keep your fingers crossed there are rooms available when I call on the 7th!

We arrive on the 24th of sept and are leaving on the 5th of Oct. We've been planning this trip since Oct '12 and it just keeps getting longer and longer....funny how that happens!!!

Yes! We lined up for Jasmine & Genie's 10:45 set and about 15 minutes into the set is when Aladdin & Abu came out to join them and we ended up being the first group to meet all 4 of them. So if you plan to go to the last set, make sure you're somewhere in the middle of the pack and can time it just right to hopefully meet all 4 of them!

And omgosh love your Mary Poppins movie night, all the snacks are so cute!

hello, friends! I feel like I've been gone forever and I hope you will forgive me! between end of the year room parent and school volunteer stuff, Hannah's kindergarten play, sewing, work, and getting way too carried away with summer plans, I have neglected the DIS once again. But, i'm back with updated plans and pictures to share to make up for the absence, so let's get on with it!

plan changes.....nothing too crazy, but we're no longer staying at all star movies. when free dining for September came out, I decided to go ahead and switch resorts, but not to Caribbean beach like i'd been planning. I decided we'd give POP a try! POP has never really been a consideration before. I don't know why, but i'm super excited about it now. it looks so fun, I can't wait to explore on our rest day before the party, and the girls are really excited to try the goofy splash area. but, MOST important, terri (denovagirl) and her family are staying there! so, after we get to MEET UP at Hollywood, eat dinner, and see fantasmic, we get to ride the bus back together and hang out some more! woohoo!

so....what's next....sewing! I finished one of our costumes for MNSSHP. this one was the easiest. it's rich's olaf shirt. I was going to make him a hat to wear also, with brown pipe cleaners for olaf's stick hair, but decided that since he probably won't keep it on, what would be the point? anyway, i'm sure people will get who he is when he's with us.



I also made some anna and elsa inspired dresses for terri's girls. my girls love them so much, i'll probably just recreate them for our costumes.





i'm pretty happy with how they turned out! I seriously can NOT wait to see her cuties in them!

I haven't ordered it yet, but i'm going to get this shirt for part of my costume. i'm also going to add some sparkly something to a reindeer antler headband we have and wear that too.



I think that's about all for now. tomorrow we're doing another movie night--i'm so excited!!--so hopefully i'll be back with pictures tomorrow night or sunday.

oh, and, I went to target the other day and parked next to this car, which i'm pretty sure was mocking me......
