So, Ebay sends an email telling me not to miss out on a bid for an American Girl, Kit's scooter. Current Bid=$23 +5.95 shipping. AG store? $24 + no shipping with $50 purchase, or $4.95 shipping.
I am venturing out into the American Girl doll world for my almost 5 year old daughter. I have been watching Ebay for a couple of weeks and it seems that there are some good deals (usually BIN) from unexperienced sellers. But the bids go up to outrageous amounts! My daughter wants a Kanani Doll and they are going for more than they would cost ordered from the on-line store even if I had to pay shipping! Sometimes the used Kanani dolls on Ebay go for more than new from the store!
I see it a lot with all kinds of things on ebay. I get great amusement in looking things up and seeing the bids so high, then going to Amazon and seeing it for way cheaper It makes my day sometimes
I don't understand the bidding on e-bay sometimes and I've been bidding and selling on e-bay since before 2000. Sometimes I think people just get caught up in the I've got to have it bidding frenzy other times I still have to go I've had items I was sure would sell for a lot of money go for nothing or not sell at all and items I had no idea were worth anything sell for a ton - especially my used Cub Scouts stuff - it frequently goes for more used than it sells for in the stores new and since the price on these items is regulated I just don't understand it - a few weeks ago I sold a used book, used neckerchief and used slide for $5 more than I paid plus they still had to pay the shipping.
