"Don't forget a picture of the food!" Updated 8/16! A Fall TR!

so, i'm all done reading the awesome updates and am ready for more.......well? come on, I need more Walks in Disney!!!

I actually took notes this time, so I remember what I wanted to say!

LOVE the family pic with the mickey bench at contemporary! you all look so cute in your matching outfits and shirts! and those outfits the girls have on? wow--so very cute! :P they really do look adorable with their mickey outfits, jewelry and shoes!

the girls look so cute going to meet Mickey with their ear hats on! Maddie looks like a baby! she's gotten so big since then!

the picture of Olivia with the pixie dust hair watching the dapper dans? LOVE! it's like all the magic of Disney in one picture! although I have to say, anytime I see the dapper dans, I can only think of that Modern Family episode at Disneyland, when Haley's boyfriend is steering the dans on the bicycle and crashes it when he sees them. I love that show!

so glad Maddie got to ride her favorite ride! that picture of her hugging the giant pooh is too much!!!

I'm so excited to read about the rest of your trip! :yay:

We've never met the talking Mickey. I think I need to make that happen!

I'm so glad you're back!! I hope that your absence was for good things. :goodvibes

Chef Mickey's looks like such fun!! I've eaten there once, but it's gotta be great going with kiddos; can't wait to take DD.

Monorail troubles are the worst! At least you guys weren't stuck on the monorail tram that had the trouble. Can you imagine how long those poor souls waited?!:faint:

I love the Castle shot from the Ferry.

Talking Mickey!! I can not wait to meet him!! ::MickeyMo I hope they will start having other talking characters...

I love that you guys did the first hair cuts!! We wanna take DD too. How wonderful that they give you the little bag and such.

Looks like a great start to a great day!:mickeyjum

YAY! So excited to see the updates!
These posts are full of so much cuteness overload.
The girls look absolutely darling in their outfits and in all the pictures! Their faces when they were walking up to Mickey!!
And that really close up of them with Tink in their hands. So precious.
So excited to see more!

So glad you're back! I had missed seeing all those adorable pictures of your girls! :lovestruc Seriously precious. They are the cutest. And those outfits made it even better.

Glad you had a good time at Chef Mickey's - that's one meal we still haven't done.

Ugh, so annoying about the monorail and how, if only you'd known, it would have been a quick walk. :headache:

Happy to see the magic returned at MK. Talking Mickey is great - he did the train with Izzy once too and it was a hit!

Looks like they did great for their first haircuts! They look terrific!

I had never noticed all the coins in Small World before. Guess I need to pay more attention. :rotfl:

Can't wait for more updates! :hyper:

And look at that! an UPDATE!!! Not going to lie i had to go backwards a little to remember what's going on... :rolleyes1

I just ADORE the girls outfits!!!! you all look so adorable!!! So sorry about the monorail.. sounds like you and D have the same issues with that thing!!! LOL!

TALKING MICKEY!!!! FUN!!!!

first haircuts I mean come on!!! your just having the best experiences!

Please don't go missing again...

Yay! You updated! so happy to see you back!

First of all the girls in those outfits? OMG, cutest thing ever! Love them! Looks like you had a fun breakfast at Chef Mickeys! Too bad about that monorail, it's so hard to predict what that thing is going to do!

Love the haircut pics! What that Olivia's first ever haircut? I only asked because I have been waiting to cut Charlotte's so we could do it at Disney, but it's getting so long....don't know if we can wait any longer.

Very cute, hope to hear more soon! ;)

Great pictures around the Contemporary, and love the family photo at CMs!

Cute character photos! What a surprise meeting Daisy there!

Aww such sweet pics of the girls getting their haircuts.

Yay! Terri's back!

I love Chef Mickey's, what a fun spot to have breakfast. But do my eyes deceive me? Daisy instead of Pluto? What is up with that! Pluto must have been under the weather or something that day.

Ugh, I cannot believe it took you an hour to get from breakfast to the MK. What a horrible time. It seems to be a recurring problem lately with those monorails.

Isn't talking Mickey wonderful! Even as adults, Mom and I were simply blown away by the whole experience.

Such cute pictures of the girls getting their haircuts! The barbershop is one place in MK that I have never been in.

I love watching the Dapper Dans, they are so talented.

Nothing wrong with IASW for a first ride, it's one of my favorites.

Thank you! I love those shots on the Mickey bench as well, and THANK YOU for the outfits!! They really made the day!!!

I agree about the picture after the haircut with DD's!! It is a magical shot!!

I'm so excited to read about the rest of your trip! :yay:

We've never met the talking Mickey. I think I need to make that happen!

YES! Talking Mickey is AWESOME!! He even speaks different languages!! My friends heard him speaking Portugese to a Brazilian family ahead of them!

I'm so glad you're back!! I hope that your absence was for good things. :goodvibes

I know! They knew he talked, but even that didn't prepare them for how amazing it was, they were still shocked!!

So glad you're back! I had missed seeing all those adorable pictures of your girls! :lovestruc Seriously precious. They are the cutest. And those outfits made it even better.

Yay! You updated! so happy to see you back!

I know, Lori knocked it out of the park with those rompers... people stopped us ALL DAY long to compliment the girls! Can't wait for later in the trip so you can see our photos in the shirts you made us! They are adorable too!!

Yes, that was her very first haircut... so dont feel bad waiting!! Olivia was already 5, lol.. honestly I probably wouldnt have even cut it then except the ends really could use a trim, and I am glad I had the chance to do their first cuts in Disney!!! SQUEEEE! We only did Maddie's because Chris was scared we would do Olivias first one there and maybe we wouldnt make it back for Maddies... lol...

Great pictures around the Contemporary, and love the family photo at CMs!

Cute character photos! What a surprise meeting Daisy there!

Aww such sweet pics of the girls getting their haircuts.

I know! I'm not crazy! I was surprised to see Daisy too, I couldn't think in the moment if she was usually there or not!! Ha!

Yay! Terri's back!

I love Chef Mickey's, what a fun spot to have breakfast. But do my eyes deceive me? Daisy instead of Pluto? What is up with that! Pluto must have been under the weather or something that day.

Yes, too cool on Daisy!! I should have known better on the monorail. I would have walked except 1. I was trying not to walk too much to save my feet for the rest of the long trip, and 2. The girls wanted to ride the monorail!!

Talking Mickey is the BEST! Love him!!!

Mine Train

It was time to do something we’d been waiting to do for MONTHS!! Ride the Mine Train!! SQUEEEEEE!!!!

Olivia and Chris went first, and Maddie and I headed over to the nearby teacups for a spin. Right before we got in line I realized a major boo-boo… I forgot to stay with Chris to grab the rider swap!! EEEEK!! I called and called, he didn’t answer, and I RAN back over to the FP entry, hoping he hadn’t gone through yet, but of course, he had. Lucky for me though, the very sweet CM working there saw me and asked what was wrong, I explained, and she happily handed over a ride swap!! PTL!!! *PHEW* Crisis averted!!!

Maddie and I headed back to spin on the teacups…

Meanwhile, here was Chris and Liv…

And the video is HERE!!!

After the teacups Maddie and I headed to the Dumbo tent to play while we waited for Chris and Liv. They met up with us over there and we just relaxed while the kiddos played for a bit.

Then we all took a spin on Dumbo himself..

Next we went back over by 7DMT for mine and Olivia’s turn while Chris took Maddie back to the teacups!

Gotta say, 7DMT is now one of my favorites too!! What a perfect little ride!! It’s fun, has a great story, perfect theming, and all the animatronics and music are just spot on! Loveeeeeeeeeeeed it!!!

And the video HERE!!

So. Much. Fun!!!!!!! Wish I could have ridden it all day long!!

Up next… we’ve used all our FP’s, now what?

We've Used All Our FP's, Now What!?

We used all our FP’s now, and our plan of attack, since it was pretty crowded in the park, was to find a FP kiosk, and just start riding things that were available with short wait times. First up was Haunted Mansion! Always a good time visiting those 999 happy haunts! The girls did great, and we were pumped to find a PP person outside after!

We made our way back to the FP kiosk, this time scoring some for an attraction we’d never gotten to do last visit (it was under refurb) The Jungle Cruise!!!

But first, lunch time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we were very much looking forward to going back to one of our FAVORITE quick service places from our previous trip, Columbia Harbor House!!

Seriously y’all, this place is a gem amongst the chaos! There’s not many QS locations that get you away from the crowds, but this one does! The catch? You have to know the secret…. The seceret??? UPSTAIRS!! So many don’t realize the massive dining room that is right above them!!

We ordered our food and headed upstairs and found ourselves a quaint little table by window, with a great view. And look at this!! We were the only ones in this area!!!

Not only that, but you get some pretty big portions here!

I think we all went for the fried shrimp plate with cobbler for dessert.

We also had a great encounter with a CM here! Her name was Marley and she was from Florida, and she so kindly made many trips downstairs for random things we forgot, and she was just really sweet with the girls!

We ended up giving her one of our homemade Thank You cards for CM’s, Olivia took it over to her and she about flipped out on us. She was so ecstatic that we gave her a little card, and so excited that we happened to pick out a Rapunzel one, because that was her fave. She said we’d totally made her day and no guest had done something like that before to her! So needless to say, that in turn made our day too.

When we were done eating it was time to use our Jungle Cruise FP’s, it was also beginning to rain. No worry, we have ponchos!!

Well, three of us did. The kids size was too big for Maddie, so we didn’t get her one, thinking she could just be shoved underneath mine or Chris’ with us. Turns out we soooooo underestimate how crazy the rain would get. By the time we made it to Jungle Cruise it was getting pretty steady, but by the time we got ON Jungle Cruise it completely opened up!!

So our first ride on JC and it was a memorable and wet one!!!

As we disembarked from our journey it was still pouring like mad, but we had to press on. We needed to stay in the park for a reservation that night, and we still had so much to do! So we quickly grabbed another FP (the kiosk is right at the entry/exit to JC) for Pirates, since it was nearby, and INDOORS! Sorry, no good photo!

We were about finished in Adventureland for the time being, and we were about to head back to another area when Chris decided he had to have one more thing from AL…. DOLE WHIP TIME!!:banana::banana:

We ducked under a covered area to savor the treat, and Maddie had some fun playing in the rain…

After we devoured the pinapple-y goodness we headed to a FP kiosk to see what else was available, annnnnnnddd……… Little Mermaid it is!!

Basically this whole time since lunch it was just massively pouring. I remember sloshing through rain on the way from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland that was literally deeper than my ankles. It was CRAZY! Disney seems to flood when the rain comes like this! So unfortunately, it meant no bringing out the camera much.

No matter! We were still pressing on!!

Coming up, we head into Tomorrowland!!

I'm so glad you and Olivia got to sit in the front of your mine car so we can see her in the picture! She looks like she's having a great time!!

Yay, dumbo! We still haven't played in the play area. I just keep hustling the girls past so we can ride. I'm so mean.....

Poor Maddie--all soaked in the rain!

I like the way your doing the park just based on what fastpass you can get next. That's a fun way to do it!

We've never eaten at Columbia harbor house because we don't eat fish/seafood and for some reason I always think that's all they have. We might have to check it out.

So glad to see you back! Excited to read more about your trip!

I love the pictures from Chef Mickey's! And I see Daisy - that must be a special appearance. I've never seen her there before!

I'm sorry for your transportation troubles. How frustrating when you just want to get there!

I love the family shots and magic shots of the girls in front of the castle!

Very cute haircuts and pixie dust. How special to have their first haircuts at Disney!

You got so much done in just a few hours! All the boys LOVED Small World. I think we rode it 4 times during our trip. And that's great that the CM was so understanding at 7DMT - that rider swap pass is crucial there!

Boo for all the rain! Glad you found some indoor attractions to take care of. And I really need to make sure we get to Columbia Harbor House next trip - I love that view from upstairs!

YES!!! 7DMT!!!! isn't it just the cutest ride?!?!? Olivia looks like she loves it as much as you do!
Fantastic your raising Dis kids!!! :cloud9: can't wait for the nest update!!

I'm glad you figured the new format out. I haven't been on here for a couple of months at least, so glad to be back to take in your updates. Of course it goes without saying your girls are adorable! You know their smiles just melt my heart! Loved all the pics, the hair cuts, the Dapper Dans. We love to catch them each time we go at some point. To be honest, the talking Mickey sort of threw our granddaughter Charlotte for a loop. She was not expecting him to talk to her! But she warmed up pretty quickly…he was so good with her! It was a real surprise to us that he talked. Magical!

I love that Olivia will do the mine train. Isn't is soooo fun?!! I wish it were longer, but it is such fun and so well done with all the visual effects. Glad it worked out for the ride swap.

Sorry about the downpour, but looks like it didn't slow you down any. That's what we always do as well, just keep on truckin'.

I didn't know about that bench at the Contemporary. Such cute photos there!! And it looked like great interaction with the characters, too! Dan and I went last September and Goofy was the only character to come to our table. Mickey had just approached our table when the handler interrupted to take him back where he had just come from with a promise to come right back. Never did. We were pretty bummed over the entire experience. We had a very long wait to be seated and it went downhill from there. But so glad your experience was totally different. It's so special to see the girls' faces all lit up in smiles.

Columbia Harbour House is one of our very favorite places to eat. We always eat upstairs and have often had it mostly to ourselves. Just such a great break from the noise and crowds! And I also love the shrimp basket! The only reason we found it was we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and that's where we had lunch. We were hooked!

One other thing I wanted to comment on was the fact that both your girls went on POC and Haunted Mansion. Do they like those attractions? We didn't even try Miles on either one when we went in April. We talked to him about POC, but he didn't want to do it.

Can't wait to read more about your trip. So far, its ticking all my boxes!! Love!!

Whew, glad you got the Rider Swap straightened out!

I LOVE that upstairs dining room at CHH! Such great views out the window and usually pretty empty up there. And the food is yummy!

I really need to make some CM thank you cards next time I go. I run into so many awesome CMs I need to take the time to thank them!

Yuck on the rain but I guess it's better to be in WDW with rain than at home!

You guys seemed to have some great luck with getting additional FPs.

Love the Mine Train pics, you guys look like you were having a blast!

Love Columbia Harbor House too!

Ugh sorry the rain was so bad, but glad you were able to use FP+ to your advantage!

Can't wait to check the mine train out! It looks so fun! Too bad about the rain, but it didn't let it stop you guys, that's awesome!

We have to try CHH it looks like such use of a QS credit!

sounds like a pretty good breakfast at Chef Mickey's and a fun way to start the day

Ugh, that trip to the MK though sounds terrible ... especially knowing how close the walk is. Oh well, at least you made it in time to meet talking Mickey.

He didn't talk when we last visited him, but it seems like such a fun experience. Though, I do wonder if kids then wonder why Donald, Goofy, etc. don't talk if Mickey can. :confused3

So glad they did well with the haircuts! Seems the spinny toys and stickers often do the trick and glad you were happy with the result.

The magic shot pictures of the two girls are really cute :goodvibes
