"Don't forget a picture of the food!" Updated 8/16! A Fall TR!

Just some more random thoughts. I am super excited for you.

The character breakfast is at Plaza Inn. It is called the Plaza Inn Minnie & Friends breakfast.

I really couldn't decide if I wanted PP or not. I am glad I did. It was $70 pre-order.

You have to try the Mickey shaped Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar (by the New Orleans Square Train Station). Plus, Tiana meets near there between Haunted Mansion and Train Station.

Peter Pan and Alice and Mad Hatter can be found usually between Matterhorn and teacups. Alice and Mad Hatter do not stop until closer to the Its a Small World ride. Peter Pan will usually hangs close to Matterhorn.

Flynn Rider can be found at random times outside the Princess Storybook meet and greet and show.

I have very fond memories of my American Girl Dolls and the first one Santa Ever Brought me has to this day held an extra special place in my heart. What a fun christmas ahead for you!

How fun to get a trip to Disneyland in!! I have never been myself, but I can give you the logic I used for deciding the dates for my upcoming May Trip to WDW.... If you are looking at that time frame that puts you around Mother's day. If you are thinking that time anyways how awesomely cool would it be to get to spend Mother's day in Disney? Dole whip and Fireworks... Sounds like a great mother's day to me!

Yay for figment and jumping fountains. How could you ever go wrong there? I can't wait to see Little Miss enjoy them on our trip.

Wonderful Monorail pictures! Looking forward to hearing about beaches and cream.

Oh darn! I'm all caught up already! Just joining in (I know, super late to the party) but I'm loving it so far!!

YAY Disneyland trip!! Being a west coaster (& growing up in so cal) I am super excited for you!! I love wdw, but DL is just so great. Be sure to check out the petrified tree by the rivers of America. Walt gave that to his wife as a present and she was like "um, yeah... You can put that in your park." I love that story!

Also be sure to check out the light on top of the firehouse. It's walt's apartment - not sure your kids will be up for the walk in walts tour, but definitely check out the DL threads to get nuggets of fun facts that you can interject throughout your trip.

If you hand any questions or want to bounce ideas off of anyone, I'm happy to help. Went twice last year with my <1 year old at the time, have gone on 20+ DL trips with my 3 nephews at various ages, and am headed back in 2015 for 4 more DL trips!!

Sounds like a fun year for trips!

We are also thinking our next disney trip will be Disneyland since we could drive to it... But don't know when that will be.
That's exciting! I'm sure you guys will have so much fun.

The picture of the monorail looks like it could be a disney ad.

I wish we were close enough to drive to either easily, but nope, smack dab in the middle *sigh* :confused3

I do love that pic of the monorail! Turned out pretty good! :cool1:

How exciting is 2015 gonna be for you guys?!?!? I'm so glad y'all are getting an American Girl for Olivia; I still have my Molly AG. It is really expensive (I bought stuff for Molly well into my 20s) but it's such a fun thing for a little girl. And they used to have dress patterns and such instead of just buying the clothing, I always enjoyed those.

Vegas baby! Sounds like a great way for mom and dad to get some RnR. And the Smokey mountains, beautiful. A week in a cabin is like a dream! And to top it off a DL trip!, not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous ;) you guys are gonna have such a blast!

Your Epcot morning looks like such a fun and relaxing one. It's hilarious that WS is slammed with people while you were able to basically walk onto the rides in Future World. I hear BandC is delicious, we've never been, but I'm kinda dieting to get the kitchen sink, even just for the little show they put on.

Good to hear on the AG dolls! Pretty much everyone I talk to seems to still have their childhood dolls and had super great memories of it, so I am thinking it will be well worth our investment!

I also have already been thinking that this would be a great opportunity in the next couple years to learn to sew, and Olivia can learn along with me, it would be great for her to have the skill I was never taught, and she could start by learning to do doll clothes!

It does seem like a lot of trips! But really 2 are weekend getaways, 1 will be extended weekend (DL) and the big one is the smokies. The more research I do the more excited I get to visit there! Hopefully there will be snow, I think that just seems magical! I can picture myself out on the cabin porch in the hot tub in the winter with steam rising up and a gorgeous view *sigh* :goodvibes

Haha, I know, we were just trucking along in FW this morning and then we walk back to the WS and it's like, wow, where did all these people come from!?!?!? But really, I never felt it was too crazy in WS during F&W, we still were able to try some of the booths with minimal waiting and such.

I can't wait to read all your DL research--it'll save me from doing my own if we ever get there! :rotfl:

Awwww--your Epcot day sounds relaxing and fun! I'm glad you all got to take your time and really enjoy it. Maddie looks like she's having a blast dancing around and playing in the water!

Hahaha, so far there doesnt seem to be much to the planning, I think its more just tidbits to help park touring go smoother.

It was a super great Epcot morning, pretty darn perfect.

All your trips are so exciting!

We have thought about the cabin in the smokies a few times, it looks like so much fun! You guys will also have so much fun on your trip to the american Girl store. We have one here in STL and I love it! We got Charlotte her 1st American girl doll (the bitty baby) at 2 and I love getting her new accessories and clothes for every holiday! In fact Bob and I were just at the store Friday night, getting some Christmas stuff.

I think you will love DLR! We went for one day in 2006 and it was so much fun. The weather cooperates a little better and I love the way it feels. So nostalgic!
I didn't plan much or anything so I am of no actual help! But you will enjoy it!

Loved your update! I love how the monorail goes all the way around EPCOT. It's so cool!

Yay for AG! It's funny how almost everyone is into it and I seriously had no clue!

You should totally do a smokies trip! It is actually very affordable, especially when you're used to funding Disney vacations! :rotfl2:

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

uour gone forever then BAM we are hit with ALL THIS NEWS?!?! Dallas- Vegas- AND Disneyland?!?! HOLY CROW GIRL!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOO happy for you!!!!

squee-o.gif

SO HAPPY!!! I cannot wait to hear all about the plans!!!

FANTASTIC pictures!!! I love them all i cannot pick just one :worship:
Figment.. Oh my favorite little purple mischievous maker! Just love him.. aren't the fountains a blast! we adore them! must play!!!

Hahahahahaha, I just love that gif! Ross cracks me up!!

Yes, I know, I am missing and then this news! But who else to share it with and get excited with!?!?!?!?

Thanks, I got a couple good shots, and we had so much fun with Figment and the fountains!

Yay for Disneyland! I am super excited for you. I will have to think of tips. You must see Aladdin (CA) and you must see Mickey's Magical Map (DL). Really good shows. I don't know much about the parades, since we usually don't sit still enough for those.

They do have Dole Whips but not as much selection.

Carsland is so cute. Must ride the Mater's tractor ride. Bugs Land has lots of rides for little ones.

Hungry Bear restaurant is one of our favorites for QS. We have never done a sit down there, but the character breakfast at DL looks to have a variety of characters. For CA, we like the pasta and pizza place (over by Mickey's Silly Symphony Swings) and we like Flo's V-8 cafe in Carsland. We went 2nd weekend in April and for a weekend, California Adventure was not crowded at all. There were longer wait times at Disneyland, but we rode everything we wanted.

There are no fastpasses for TSMM. Even in April, that was our longest non Carsland wait (about 30 minutes). You don't really need a fastpass for Soarin. For the Cars ride (the main ride in Carsland), we waited 75 minutes for Single Rider. You MUST get fastpasses. Try to ride as early as possible, because it breaks down a lot in the afternoon and fastpass riders end up having to wait just as long to ride. It is really cool to ride at night, so try to get fastpasses again at night. Grizzly Roaring Rapids ride is fun, you can get really soaked.

You will love World of Color. Try to see that.

Check ride closures. Indiana Jones was closed when we went last April.

I will try to think of more. Feel free to ask questions. Marissa will be there in 2 weeks.

Yay! I am making notes! These are all fantastic tips! I actually did check ride closures and I am super bummed that the Matterhorn will be down! :guilty:

I was hoping if anything would be closed it would at least be a ride that has a WDW duplicate, so booooooooo. But I suppose I will live...

Just some more random thoughts. I am super excited for you.

The character breakfast is at Plaza Inn. It is called the Plaza Inn Minnie & Friends breakfast.

Flynn Rider can be found at random times outside the Princess Storybook meet and greet and show.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We still have not met Flynn so that will be HIGH on the list of character greets this time!!!!!! Making notes!!

I have very fond memories of my American Girl Dolls and the first one Santa Ever Brought me has to this day held an extra special place in my heart. What a fun christmas ahead for you!

Wonderful Monorail pictures! Looking forward to hearing about beaches and cream.

Oh, so happy to hear that about your first AG doll! I really hope Olivia is that way too!

Very true about Mothers Day! I will have to consider that!!

Beaches & Cream coming right up!!

Oh darn! I'm all caught up already! Just joining in (I know, super late to the party) but I'm loving it so far!!

Yay! April is here! :wave2:

Wow! I heard about the firehouse light, but not the tree! Yes, yes, yes! Taking notes! Love all this info! Have you ever asked about the train car for Walt's wife? I want to ride in it!

I know what you're thinking.... 3 updates within 2 days!!!!

Hahaha, don't question it, just enjoy!

The walk to Beaches & Cream is beautiful! We didn't get to come here last year so this was our first time seeing this whole area.

And the meal! We seriously had been thinking about this meal for months! We were so excited to finally go! We literally all knew what we were getting already, so we were so pumped!

After our short walk through the World Showcase we made it to the International Gateway. This marked new territory for us! And what a BEAUTIFUL walk! The waterway is lovely, and then the view of the Boardwalk! Wow! It is a goal on our next trip to see this view at night and finally get over to the Boardwalk!

And then we were finally there, at the Beach Club, gah… photo’s speak better than words..

Haha, here is where I must burst the BC bubble though. I side with my good friend Lori on this one… people have always talked about the lovely, salty BC smell…lol… yeah, no. I didn’t have the same experience, maybe it was a little fishy? I don’t know, almost stale to me, but I took a big ole’ whiff, wanting to smell it, and yea…ummmm…sorry all you die hard BC fans, I don’t see the appeal!

What I do see the appeal of though was Stormalong Bay! Wowwwwwie! What an awesome pool! I really don’t have a desire to stay there except for wanting to try that pool out!! LOL!

Anyway, we were still a tad early for lunch, about 1:50pm, so they gave us a pager and we found a quiet spot to sit and relax while we waited. The kids both had fallen asleep during the walk, so we were really in no rush to wake them up anyway. It was about 15 minutes or so later they were paging us for our 2:20 ADR.

This place is darling!! Every little detail is superb!! It is also teeny!! What you see is what you get!

I loved the atmosphere here, it was just so adorable! I also loved the FOOD! My goodness, the girls and I all had the adult grilled cheese with tomato soup (they split) and it was delicious, comfort food at its best. Very scrumptious! Chris had a burger, which he also highly enjoyed.

And then what we were really all waiting for, the ICE CREAM! Sadly, the whole of Disney World was currently out of Mickey Pants sundaes… I know, despair! We had waited so long for the Mini-Kitchen Sink!!! Noooo!!!! But we couldn’t really change anything, so we decided on a giant banana split instead, and it did not disappoint! Def the best banana split I have ever had!

Hahahaha, this one is what definitely inspire my TR title!!! This is the look I get when I tell them "wait, I have to get a picture of the food!"

It was a wonderful meal and experience. The service was great, the food was great, the ice cream was outstanding! And we even chatted with a group of ladies in the table next to us for quite some time. They were highly impressed with our matchy-matchiness and proclaimed me to be a great “pinterest mom” so I was happy all my hard work and planning on customs wasn’t going unnoticed!

Finally when we were done with our yummys we headed back towards Epcot. It was high time we looked around the WS, and we had a very important concert to see…

Coming up, strolling around the Food & Wine festival!

Boy I am impressed with all these updates!

Beaches and cream does look so cute! On our oct trip we went with a TA who had an amazing deal at the beach club or the poly. We almost did the BC just for the pool, and then ended up with the poly...I just love it! And the BC doesn't hold the same appeal for me! I would like to try the ice cream there, wow! Yummy! I am impressed you got a pic of that sucker first!

Lol! the great title of "pintrest mom" Congrats! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I totally get it! It's nice to be applauded for all your efforts instead of giggled at :sad1:

Yay, that is super awesome that you are going to Disneyland (well, and the other trips too)! :yay:

I don’t have a ton of Disneyland tips, but have been before (one day when I was 16 and one day in like 2006). We are hoping to get out there sometime, but not sure when. There is a chance that Dug’s work retreat next November will be in Palm Springs, CA again, so that might be a possibility – I am really excited to see Carsland, among other things.

I do know that Pirates and Space Mountain (and some others, I’m sure) are “better” at Disneyland vs. WDW. Indiana Jones is a must-ride. ToT is not as good. I know there are more comparisons, but I’m sure you can look them up and that’s all I can remember off the top of my head tonight. I’d recommend browsing the Disneyland section of the DIS, if you haven’t already. If you want some TRs from the perspective of WDW vets going to DL, I can link some I’ve read in the past, just let me know. :goodvibes

Woo hoo, so excited for you guys! :dance3:

On to the TR updates…

That’s funny that the girls like the skunk part of Figment! Glad that you were able to take it easy and enjoy some of the little things at Epcot.

Gorgeous picture of the monorail over the water. :thumbsup2

Oh, Food & Wine…I miss you! :sad1:

Oh, wow, you just reminded me that we need to hit Beaches & Cream on our next trip! We’re staying at the Boardwalk, so it is right there (well, and staying at the Beach Club Villas at least one night, so even closer). Mmmm, No Way Jose…I need to stop commenting and make an ADR right now…be right back…:rolleyes1

Okay, I’m back. Mmmm, I really want to try that grilled cheese and tomato soup too. I know the burgers are good. Maybe we will have to get one of each and all share and then eat ice cream. Haha, Maddie sure looks like she’s loving that banana split! :rotfl2:

Oh, boy, the concert! :cool1:

Great update!!!

I love your pictures! and a big ol LOL on the smell!!!!! :rotfl2:

never been to BC but i will one year!!! Look at all those BIG SMILES! simply adorable as always!

HA! way to go Pintrest Mom! you did do a great job!!! :thumbsup2

Well SOMEONE has been a busy bee lately! :lmao: Well done!:thumbsup2

The picture of the girls with the ice cream are precious!

The pool over at the Beach club does sound neat but I have heard many warnings that its so big that pool time becomes extremely stressful with littles because its impossible to keep up with everybody.

I have to say that I love that last picture of Maddie. It was a great picture.

We stayed at Beaches and Cream on our first trip in 2013. It was ok and it did smell bad at certain times, I blamed it on Cape May. We loved Pop, so of the two, my kids liked the value one over the deluxe. When we go again, I am trying a moderate and that even included Jacob who slept on floor at Pop the entire time.

Matterhorn being down...I consider that a blessing. I know that it is the iconic Disneyland ride and that WDW does not have it, but we so enjoy not having to ride it. We rode it again this summer, and the only thing I heard from others while riding it, was "Ow!". It is very painful. However, I know it is disappointing to go and not have a chance to ride the iconic ride. Sort of like when Spaceship Earth was closed our first WDW trip. You will just have to plan another trip.

what a great update!! (but will you please slow down? you're putting my TR to shame! :lmao: )

i LOVE that picture of maddie with ice cream all over her face! that looks like pure joy right there! and Olivia's face while you're taking a pic of the ice cream--hilarious!

your pic of the tomato soup and grilled cheese literally made my stomach growl. that was SSSOOOOOO good!

oh my gosh! i'm glad it wasn't just me being unimpressed with the famous BC smell! maybe it's better if you get further away from the restaurants? it is so pretty, and the pool!!, but I don't know if I could stay there and have to walk in to that smell all the time.....

BandC looks delicious! Mostly everyone I know who has gone has ordered the adult grilled cheese with tomato soup, and I'd likely do the same; that it comfort food at its finest!

That picture of Olivia waiting to eat her ice cream is just everything! Her expression is that of every child who's parent has ever made them wait for dessert. I just adore it!

We enjoyed our stroll back to the International Gateway and I snapped a few more pics along the way because everything, I mean EVERYTHING, is just so picturesque!

Then when we re-entered the park, we stopped at the gift shop right as you enter and found a couple of the pressed pennies we were looking for before heading back to the World Showcase!

But first, gotta stop for some PP Pics!!! First was this F&W photo with NO LINE (unlike the one at the front of the park)

Then on the bridge to France…

Then IN France…

By this time the kids were DONE with stopping for photos, lol… so we decided to just stroll some.

Now, being that I only had a few bites of the banana split back at B&C, I had already been planning in my mind to grab a certain tasty treat I enjoyed on our previous visit. So as we made our way into Japan I picked up one of these bad boys!

MMMMM! Kakigori! Basically a Japanese sno cone, but the texture of this ice is just wonderful. I highly recommend this, especially on a hot day!

We didn’t “Do” a lot at this time, we really did just stroll around, explore and enjoy the F&W ambiance. By the time we made it to the good ole US of A Chris was ready to sample some brewskies…

This was the beer flight from Hops & Barley in the US Pavilion, which he enjoyed a lot. While we were in the US we took the opportunity to potty break and do a wardrobe change for us girls into our Hanson shirts!

Note on Hanson: The line to get into the amphitheater was already crazy long, I decided right then and there I would much rather spend the time until the concert exploring more with the fam than waiting in it. It didn’t matter where I sat, I knew I would be able to see and hear just fine in the back!

So we went on with exploring, starting with walking through the American Adventure building, we wanted to wait for the show, but the wait was kinda long and the show is pretty long, and we were itching to be moving, so we just looked inside some and continued on through the countries.

In China Olivia had already asked to get a fan, so we let her pick one out knowing it wouldn’t survive too long, spoiler alert: it didn’t. Kids. But at least it’s inexpensive! Sadly, I must’ve totally forgot to take any photos to mark the stop, I really only remember because it’s in my notes!

We basically just strolled and enjoyed our surroundings until we got to Germany, there we had a stop in mind! Last year the kids and I had a beer stein engraved for Chris while he was back at our room sick, and he loved it, so we decided that would be a perfect gift for Grandpa, and daddy went to pick one out while we rested on a nearby bench.

They gave us a pick up time, and for now it was FINALLY time to head back to the US for my long awaited Hanson concert!!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!:cool1:

Coming up, MMMBop your heart out!!

I would choose the Poly too, lol... though the pool does look amazing, but that's a lot of ground to watch for small children though, so maybe when they are older!

Lol! the great title of "pintrest mom" Congrats! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I totally get it! It's nice to be applauded for all your efforts instead of giggled at :sad1:

Oh, boy, the concert! :cool1:

Oh man, if you are staying at the Board Walk then YES, most definitely hit up B&C!!!!

I have heard all the same about DLR too with the similar rides and which ones are "better" there vs WDW... guess I will get to judge for myself!!

Sounds like a great lunch! I'm glad it lived up to your expectations!

Totally!

Great update!!!

I love your pictures! and a big ol LOL on the smell!!!!! :rotfl2:

never been to BC but i will one year!!! Look at all those BIG SMILES! simply adorable as always!

HA! way to go Pintrest Mom! you did do a great job!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you! The smiles make it all worth it!

I agree on the pool!! It would be hard with littles!

I have to say that I love that last picture of Maddie. It was a great picture.

We stayed at Beaches and Cream on our first trip in 2013. It was ok and it did smell bad at certain times, I blamed it on Cape May. I love that pic of Maddie!

And yes, I blame Cape May and their crab legs for the smell too! LOL!

Good to know on the Matterhorn! And it was one of only 2 rides that Olivia will be too short for, so now the only thing she cannot ride is California Screamin!

what a great update!! (but will you please slow down? you're putting my TR to shame! :lmao: )

i LOVE that picture of maddie with ice cream all over her face! that looks like pure joy right there! and Olivia's face while you're taking a pic of the ice cream--hilarious!

Hahahahahaha! That smell...

And posting that picture makes me long for that food again too... sigh...

BandC looks delicious! Mostly everyone I know who has gone has ordered the adult grilled cheese with tomato soup, and I'd likely do the same; that it comfort food at its finest!

MM, yes it was so good! But Chris said the burger was awesome too, tough choices...

Lol, that photo cracks me up..

All the pics coming in through international gateway are so pretty. we've never gone through there. And cute PP magic shots too!

Ooooo, kakigori.....I want to try that sometime!

I'm excited to hear about your Hanson concert since I know how much you were looking forward to it! and I'm wondering how the girls liked it?
