"Don't forget a picture of the food!" Updated 8/16! A Fall TR!

Love the updates! Although the little protest was fun too.

Love the picture of Maddie. Chelsea had that same look down at that age. We did One Man's Dream for the first time and I really enjoyed looking around. We never found the characterpalooza either. It always seemed to be raining by then.

I hope you had a great time at 50s.

Have a good day.

Loved the updates Terri!!!

As usual - being rewarded with photos of those adorable girls - make the wait worthwhile!

Loved Maddie's stroller face... I have a similar one of Victoria (not in a stoller) on our first trip...

Bummer about all of the strollers in your Singin' In The Rain photo... I have yet to find that umbrella - I always forget to look for it when I am back there.

Glad you got to enjoy a Mickey Bar and :whoohoo: for free water! BONUS!

Thanks for a great update. :)

D~ <--- Who's called off the Riot Squadron... For now.

:cheer2: Updates!!! :woohoo: Of course I'm SUPPOSED to be using this time to nail down the last of my ADRs in prep for tomorrow morning but I'll enjoy a few moments here first. :lmao:

Totally understand the Homeschool thing.

Wonderfully cute pictures by the umbrella. Its on my list to find it this trip.

Don't you just love it when the littles start forming their OWN opinions on how things are supposed to work! :rotfl: The Stroller pictures are a perfect picture of 2 year oldness in action! :rotfl2:
Super finder Maddie in finding the small details!:cheer2: Clearly y'all are doing something right!pixiedust:

Anyone here?!?!

MO! What the h*ll is this? That scared the bejeebers outta me! :rotfl2:

Yay updates!

I love that picture of Maddie making her pressed penny, but her rosy cheeks remind me of how flippin HOT it was that day! :headache:

We stopped to use the bathroom near the singing in the rain umbrella. I wanted to go take some pictures but there was a line so we passed it. Sometime I WILL get pictures there!

I did not know that about asking the CMs how they are! I'm going to have to write that down and try that!

I can't wait to hear all about your dinner at 50s! I wonder how it will go.....:rotfl:

I have been so excited to hear all about your meet up with Lori, I can't believe that is where you left off...you really left me hanging there!

But I do love all the pics of your adorable girls! Good tip on the pressed penny containers. We are totally going to do some of the pennys this time around, so its good to know!

Ya know when I was a kid I remember being so impressed with the Backlot tour, like it seriously amazed me and my entire family. Then when I went back in 07 and 10, I thought this is really pointless compared to how it used to be. So in otherwords, you really didn't miss much.

Great pics! Glad to see you back!

Our most difficult Disney trip with our kids was when we were there for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She was a total maniac, and we left much more exhausted than a usual disney trip!!

MO! What the h*ll is this? That scared the bejeebers outta me! :rotfl2:

just one of those things you find when googling!!! whatever it is it's not here in the US!

Love the pouty imma gunna be crabby face.. even with this fave she is still adorable!

not so patiently waiting for another update...

Enjoyed the update so much! I just love all the pictures you get. And the expressions you capture! The only thing about keeping your change for the penny presses in a baggie, you don't get to eat M&Ms to empty out the tube. Think about it!

I never knew you got something when you asked a CM how they are doing. Dan and I tend to do that anyway, but not necessarily the ones at the food vending kiosks. We don't get much other than what comes with our meals. Good to know. And how fabulous that your sweetie thought to do that.

Well, I hope you have a wonderful week. What you're doing by homeschooling is beyond important!! Don't apologize for teaching your babies. Take your time. We'll be here, Sweetie!

Yay yay! Love, love the updates! We've been back a week now so I'm reliving through your pictures!

Glad you guys got so many pictures at HS! We didn't get a hat picture and now I'm worried it will be gone by the time we get back. :confused3

It's so hard to be 2! My youngest son got grumpy sometimes because he was in the stroller so much more than he is used to. But a Mickey Bar seems to make it better!

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but Characterpalooza seems to have moved to the TOT exit. I read about it just a few weeks before our trip. Now they are meeting right by the dump shop, through these big green gates. We made it to one during our trip and got to see some characters we missed at other parks.

Can't wait for more updates!

Yay updates!
The one time we waited for Palooza it rained and they didn't come out as well :( I hope to catch it next trip.
That Mickey bar picture is classic! Love it!
Oooh, 50s......I've never eaten there, so glad they could accommodate you guys all sitting together.
That's interesting about the small snack cart CMs. I ALWAYS chat with them....well all CMs actually. Not sure I've used the actual words "how are you doing", but I've had Bradey actually pull me away because I chat too much with them. I just find them fun and nice and they love to talk. Let's be honest....there are a lot of rude people at WDW (guests), it is a breath of fresh air to chat with someone trained to be polite :) Some of them have pretty interesting stories.

Terri, please don't feel bad about how often you can get on the DIS. I didn't even do a TR this year (and it kills me because it was such a special trip). But I just don't have time. So don't worry.....we understand :)

No WE don't!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

i am one of the lucky ones who stalked you and made you tell me where you were every moment of your trip!!!

Hey all! So my goal for the time being is going to be to try to get on at least once a week and do some updates, hopefully I can bring them in twos at least to catch up!

Things are still crazy hectic right now! I don’t know what it is with this time of year, but it is always like this. I feel like I can share with you guys a couple things that take up my time. I am actually involved in two ministries, one where I help take kids into prison to spend a day with their parent that is incarcerated, and one where I go into clubs to support and love on dancers. Shocking, that a large portion of my life I spend praying, thinking about, and going to prisons and clubs, lol, but thought I should let you guys know why I am so swapped! One of these is a bi-monthly commitment and the other only comes around every few months, so when they both happen close together it’s a lot of time. So I apologize for not reading and following along with everyone’s TRs so diligently, but I do try to play catch up!

Other than that I can report that I have officially caught the Christmas cheer very early on this year. My tree has been up for a week! The earliest I’ve ever done that!! I am pretty much listening to Christmas music all day and gorging on Christmas TV specials too, lol, so yeah, I have the fever.

Also in fun news, Olivia was chosen as a contestant in this year’s San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo! This is a huge deal, as it is a BIG rodeo and hundreds and hundreds of kids enter to get a spot, and it’s basically a random choosing. San Antonio actually holds the award for Largest Indoor Rodeo for many years running, and it’s gonna be SO COOL! We’ve talked about Olivia being in it for YEARS and she is SO excited!! What will she be doing, you may be wondering… well MUTTON BUSTIN’!!!

mutton-busting-o.gif

Basically you hop on a sheep and hold on for dear life! LOL! It’s my favorite part of the show, and it’s always so funny to watch the little guys riding these crazy sheep!! I can’t wait to bling her up in her full western wear and kick some Mutton booty! All the kids win a prize and one kid gets a special belt buckle, so we shall see how she does! Also good news, she got placed on a night when Brad Paisley will be performing, so it will be a good show too!

So that’s me, onto my updates!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, so after we were seated we were introduced to our FANTASTIC cousin, I can’t recall her name, I didn’t note it, but she was a funny old lady who totally lived up to mine and Lori’s expectations and hopes for 50’s! She was into the character a lot, she fussed at us, she had a favorite at the table (Rich!) and she was a lot of fun.

Both Lori and I had not so great experiences with our waiters last time, so she was exactly what we had hoped for! We had so much fun!!

The hubs and I both ordered the same thing: the sampling of mom’s favorites, but instead of meatloaf we got double pot roast. So pot roast, mashed potatoes, green beens and fried chicken…mmmmm! Chris got a shake for his drink also and I had tea, and the dad’s sundae was his dessert, which has like everything on it! I got a shake in a to to cup for my dessert, as Maddie was being a toot and we needed to get walking..

While we were eating and enjoying the company I made sure to snap a few photos to document the experience! Sorry I am not in any of them though!

Also Lori busted out some awesome little gifts for the girlies, thankfully some of that included glow sticks which helped with my terrible 2-year old who was now reaching her limits.

After our meal we spent some time checking out the band that was playing by the hat, and the girls were having lots of fun together! They did a little dancing too…

Video: Dancing Disney Girls!

We also stopped for some photopass pics together. Chris was with Maddie keeping her calm, hence the missing group members…

We talked about using my ride swap pass for ToT for Lori and I to ride, but she wasn’t quite feeling it after the big meal, so we all decided on heading over to try to catch the first showing of Fantasmic.

However, as we were walking in they announced that it was standing room only! What the what! No way did we have the energy to stand, and waiting around for the second show was not sounding too fun with how tired we were, so we decided to just head back to POP and swim instead!

I was a little bummed not to see Fantasmic and do things according to the “plan,” but overall we were pretty beat, and I really just wanted to spend more time with Lori so we could chat and hang out, so this was the perfect plan.

We made our way out of the park, which to her credit, Lori did awesome holding it together, as it was their last day in a park, and soon we were hopping on a bus to head back to POP together. Our first park was officially done!

Coming up, swimming…maybe????

Sorry this has like no photos but it’s basically a swim night, so hope ya understand! ;)

So we get back to POP, we split up to go get our suits on, and low and behold, guess what is the ONE THING I forgot to pack!!!

7_homer-doh-animated-gif-i13.gif

ARE YOU KIDDING ME TERRI!!!! How could I NOT pack my swim suit!?!?!? The very one I dropped cash on for THIS trip!?!?!? :worried:

I was pretty devastated. But I let Olivia get hers on, and we left Chris and Maddie to rest and Liv and I made our way back down to the pool.

So I was really bummed here, like REALLY REALLY bummed, you have NO IDEA! We found Lori and her girls already swimming so I explained my ordeal and left Olivia with them while I decided to one last effort of checking the gift shop for a suit.

The thing that really sucks here is that I am very well endowed in the chestal region, and typically I need a very specific type of suit, but what choice did I have? I found one type of women’s one piece, grabbed the biggest one they had; and paid my $50 and got the hell outta there. To the POP bathroom I went and was able to fit, albeit it was not flattering in the least, and it was quite uncomfortable being shoved in, and the thing was riding up my butt, but at least I had shorts to cover, and nothing was going to stop me from having fun, nothing. So I made my peace with dropping $50 on a swim suit I hated and back out to the pool I went. (BTW anyone need an XL Disney swim suit!?!?!? LOL!!)

PS If you're wondering, it looks like this...

Thankfully I had a great friend waiting to cheer me up and bring me outta my current funk and within minutes of dipping into that {FREEZING} pool I was totally cheered up!

I did manage to get some totally dorky video on the go pro of us at the pool, please disregard my horrible commentary, lol. I intend to use clips of the videos we took to make a big trip video set to music! :)

Video: Late night swimming!

We swam for quite a while, but soon it was time to get going, we were dog tired from our travel day, and Lori’s family had to get up early for their travel back home. I am thankful for the fact that we had been swimming and I was freezing cold and dripping wet, because it made for quick goodbyes, which in turn kept me from falling apart on them and freaking them out! LOL! Leaving Lori was really hard to do, we’d had such little time together, and in that short time it was in instant connection, we weren’t friends meeting for the first time, we were just friends, really great friends actually. We talked and acted as if we’d known each other forever, and it was so comfortable, I am certain no dis-meet will ever live up to it, though I hardly consider it a dis-meet. I missed her instantly after leaving her, and I miss her now as I type this. Luckily we love to text each other all the time and we keep in touch, but not knowing when I will actually see them again is always hard.

LOVE YOU LORI!!!!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Liv and I made our way back to our room, Chris and Maddie were already out, so we took a quick shower. I prepped everything for the next day, and soon I was out too.

Day 1- complete.

Coming up next, its EPCOT day!!!!!

I'm a little bummed we didn't get to ride Maelstrom and Backlot tour one more time before they closed. And the Jack Sparrow thing- heard that is closing right before we get there? Never saw that. Cute pictures as always. I love the one of Maddy doing the coin press. What a cutie. Thanks for the tip about the money for those. I had printed labels but they didn't fit my M&M tubes so I was going to have to do new ones. I kept wondering if it was even worth it to do the tubes rather than just having a bag of quarters and pennies- so thank you! You have saved me some time and ink! So glad to read some updates!! Can't wait for the next one!

You're welcome! I can't believe you're there right now!!!! I love seeing all your photos!

Cute pics with the umbrella! Awesome finding a photographer back there too! Bummer about no characterpalooza :( Mickey bars solve everything! Wow so nice that DH got a free water! It pays to be nice! Can't wait to hear about dinner :)

Mickey bars DO solve everything!

Haha, that picture will be fun to look at years down the road!
