Don't be afraid of your budget, join the October No Buy!

I am the picture of "instant karma" today.

I splurged ($.15, yes 15 CENTS) on grits this morning, and the lunch lady didn't have change for a $1 bill (WTH???) so I had to go get change and bring it back to her later.

Then I needed the oil changed in my car, and the Jiffy Lube is right by a chinese place with fantastic soup... soup is cheap, right? yep... I had to buy extra to make the $5 minimum... so $9 instead of $4... boohoo... but it was yummy.

Obviously, the universe is trying to make my "conveniences" inconvenient. The universe sucks sometimes... :rotfl2:

Doing great so far...if I can manage to stay strong tomorrow, then I'll have my entire $20 bill from this week to throw in my Disney jar! Whoot!

Welcome back!!! I haven't been in a no buy for almost two months, between my parents visiting for a month and our Disney trip for two weeks it's been crazy to say the least. I am currently 24 weeks pregnan with twin girls and have a 2 y/o DS. I am in charge of all buying in the house as far as household items, food, diapers (swag bucks and amazon mom)ect. Basically if you can buy it at Walmart I'm responsible for it. I get $100 a week and whatever I don't spend goes towards one of 3 categories. Between stocking up this month on various items and just getting back from vacation anything I save will be a blessing!

3 categories for left over money: twin/cameron 40% Disney 2016 trip 30% ( yes far away I know but staying at contemporary with 3 kids all over 3 is expensive), Christmas 2013 30%. Once one of these is fully funded I will divide up the money between the two remaining. Thank god we finished up Christmas shopping already this year and have it all paid off already.

$100 weekly start
Oct. 8th- $26 at Winn dixie (produce and meat )

To my Canadian DISers, hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I sure did. We visited some more venues and I went shopping for some stuff I really wanted to get. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm going to put the costs up, but not add to my budget because these are the things I've been meaning to buy anyways. Well, except for one thing...

09/02 Busy Busy day!!! Started with taking my friend shopping for the day. Went to KMart what a huge toy sale they were having. I did a huge layaway and got 5 of 30 people done for Christmas. Spent (per say) $203.00 and saved $180.00:cool1:. Placed $25.00 on that. Went to a few other stores she wanted to go to, but, I only spent $58.00, $54.00 in groceries and $4.00 at the Dollar Tree. Got home long enough to relax for a short while and then had to take the In-laws grocery shopping. They treated to dinner out.

09/03-0-:cheer2: Stayed in today. Exhausted from yesterday. Not a good day. Both my knees are swollen and killing me.

09/04 $48.00 dinner out. My DH was pleased, we went to Hooters

09/05 $12.00 Costco's

09/06 -0-:cheer2:

09/07 $5.00 raffle tickets at Turkey Shoot. Great day surrounded by family.

09/08 $4.00 at Subway (had $10 in GC's)waiting to pick up 1/2 of friends at the airport. They just came home from Disney.

09/09 -0-:cheer2: Picked up the other 1/2 of friends at the airport. They got bumped and made out really well. And took In-Laws grocery shopping. Apparently every Tuesday has become their shopping day. lol

09/10 -0- :cheer2: Ended yesterday with a migraine and still can't get rid of it. Staying in for the day.

Oct 11-$7.60 at Bulk Barn and $9 for son's field trip, $3.40 in change jar

Whew! Big day today and nearly blew the whole wad!! It's almost like old times. :crazy2:

I'm counting Bulk Barn as a fast food visit since we just got candy and chocolate! :rotfl2:

Didn't expect this field trip (he just went on one two weeks ago!!!) so had to take it from the Misc Money budget. I did it quite grudgingly. I DID debate letting the poor kid miss the play :scratchin but my conscience got the better of me in the end.

Am now broke for a week (so the next 6 days will be no buy ones for sure!!) but I did manage to save the entire $20 bill last week so I'm stoked about that.

I'm waiting on an ebay purchase's arrival so I can send out a birthday package for my niece and nephew. I'm hoping to be able to do that next week sometime. The shipping cost will be coming out of my $20 for that week. I also need (at present) one thing from the dollar store so I definitely won't be putting $20 in the Disney jar next week but...possibly the week after??!!

Keep up the good work everyone!! We can all have a great month!!
