I cannot – can NOT – believe I’m starting another of these. Trip reports. I mean, I barely managed to finish the last one, having run out of new and ever-wittier things to report!

Clearly I’m either insane or a glutton for punishment.

Most likely a combination of both.

Because here I sit, setting the proverbial pen to paper (fingertips to keyboard, whatever) yet again.

What it comes down to, perhaps, is this: I write. It’s a huge part of who I am and a much-needed outlet for my creative drive. And, while I do a good amount of writing for work, it’s all business-y and has become rather routine. I’ve spent the past six years working on an elusive Art History degree, and there was a LOT of writing going on with that.

But I now find myself in a position of creative freedom. I’m taking a year off from school to shore up my finances and weather this economic storm. It’s only been a month and I feel my ink drying up. My mind is aching to flex its linguistic muscle and regale readers with a tide of fresh, inventive and not altogether orthodox tales of my Disney life.

In other words, I’m bored, so I’m writing a Pre-Trippy.

Heh heh. ;)

I am hopeful, though, that this will be a little different from past reports. I don’t have anything particular in mind, just a desire to shake things up a little. I mean, I sure hope I have some repeat readers here, and how many times do you really want to hear about the order in which we did the Magic Kingdom rides?!

So, yeah, this time my goal is to concentrate a bit more on the experience, rather than a recounting of every minute in the parks. In the back of my mind, always, when I write trip reports is the idea that my child, and maybe his children, too, will read these tales and reminisce about the fun times we had together. And, while those times frequently take place on rides, in restaurants, or swimming in resort pools, what makes them worth remembering has precious little to do with the surroundings. Magical though Disney may be, I’d like to think that the very special and cherished times I spend with family and friends at WDW are 1% about Disney Magic and 99% about the love we hold for one another.

That said, there will be PLENTY of detail in this here trippy, too. In fact, another goal is to focus on the small details a little more. I have a few months to go before this trip gets started, and it’s a safe bet that I’ll visit WDW before it begins. I’m hoping to retrain my eyes and ears to catch some of the subtleties I’ve been editing out in recent years. I frequently read other DISers’ trip reports, or view other DISers’ photos, and think, “Wow – why didn’t I notice that?!” I used to. Notice the details. In fact, the details were what drew me to WDW in the first place. Years of trying to keep track of a baby/toddler/pre-schooler have taken their toll and I realize now that I need to make a concerted effort to start seeing the subtle nuances of which Walt was so proud.

There it is. I'm here, again.
Willing to tackle my umpteenth trip report. And maybe a new way of experiencing WDW in the process

My only question is: are you willing to come along? :flower3:

Coming in future installments: an explanation of the title, introductions, conversations with Gramma, and waging battle with the irrational-yet-powerful fears of a six year-old boy.

Oh be still my heart!!! :cool1:

I'm so excited, even if I'm not part of it! ;)
This time. :rotfl2:

oooohhhhhh--can't wait to hear the explanation about the title!~ I'm IN.

I'm so excited, even if I'm not part of it! ;)
:guilty: Who knows - you still might be!

Oh, and do the 50 points balance out my "lack of Gator wear" demerits from October? ;)

Yes, but you're still in the hole - did you think I wouldn't notice the sudden absence of your TR link?! :rotfl: LY! ;)

What a daft question V of course we're here :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
oooohhhhhh--can't wait to hear the explanation about the title!~ I'm IN.
Reporting:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks guys - it feels good to have readers! :goodvibes

New(ish) around here, and subbing for the first time on a pre/trip report. You may be taking a year off from school, but your writing style's sure not on sabbatical.

So, please count me in. :thumbsup2

Haven't read a TR or Pre-TR in a while; time to start again, at least while my Internet connection is up and running. :rolleyes1

I can't get too far behind on this one since you're only on the first page, or can I? :scared:

Silly question V, of course Im willing to come with you on this pre-trippie:)

Whether recounting rides or reliving memories, you ALWAYS hold my attention and keep my coming back for more. Cant wait to read all about everything..
