Donate Oogie Boogie Tickets to Charity?

2 or 3 of our family members might not be able to go. They won't find out until it gets closer to the party date. They want to buy the tix now, in case the date sells out. But, rather than just tossing out the unused tix, they would like to donate them to a charity where someone could benefit from them. I know the tix can't be sold, but is it possible to donate them to a local charity/organization? If so, any suggestions?

We've had people post in past years about donating tickets to charity. Some have received receipts to use for tax purposes. Charities that have accepted Halloween Party tickets in the past include Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC or CHOC Walk) and Make a Wish. But I can't guarantee that these charities will accept tickets this year. Call them to verify before purchasing any tickets. Tickets can also be gifted to lucky (and grateful!) recipients, rather than being tossed. But the best policy is just to be sure that you can commit to a party date before purchasing.

I thought I saw one time that there is a Make A Wish office on site. Can someone confirm that or that I’m crazy??

I’m sure that organization would love them either way. You could definitely call them up and see what they say.

I've never seen a building or an office on site, unless it's on some other floor than the first floor of a hotel building, which is unlikely.

They might like it if they had time (and a wish) to fulfil that quickly but I don't think Make A Wish runs like that.

Yes, CHOC comes first to mind to me also. I wouldn't toss them if you cannot donate to a charity. I'm sure you could give them to a family member, friend, etc. and if they want to reimburse, that's up to them.

It is not an office. I think it is a lounge for the Make a Wish families.

And I agree with @starry_solo about the need to donate the tickets as early in advance as possible so that the charity receiving them would have enough time to figure out how best to use them. This isn't a "drop them off on your way to the party" type of situation. The people here who have donated party tickets in the past did so weeks/months before their party date, as soon as they knew their trips were cancelled.
