CAn someone tell me what to expect?
We are going befor the park opens ....whats it like meeting the characters.....?? Hows the food??

We go to this meal every time we visit WDW. It is absolutely wonderful. When you go in there will be a big crowd waiting to get into Animal Kingdom. You will have to go to the far left turnstile and give them your name that is on your reservation. Anyways the food is great and the characters are wonderful. This also gets you a little bit of a headstart in Dinoland. Chances are you will get done right at park opening so the only people who will be in dinoland are the ones that had breakfast. The only complaint that I have is that they are usually running behind so that once you get to the restaurant you will have to wait a little while before you can get seated.

We thought it was really good. The food was good, with the usual breakfast buffet fare. They have a hot bar and a cold section with fruit, pastry and ceral.

Donald is fun, he signs his name "Donald Duck #1" The cast memebers said they have to keep him and Micky apart :lmao:

You will find that this is the most "controversial" (for lack of a better word) character meal in the world....it gets LOTS of bad reviews, though many others just love it.

I would definitely recommend going to Deb's site to read the reviews there as well those here (www.allearsnet.com). BTW, she also has ALL of the menus for EVERY restuarant at WDW posted there, so this is a great site for planning your meals.

My two cents...Donald's Breakfastasaurus is the only thin in all of WDW that is on my "never again" list. FOOD WAS AWFUL. Service, though friendly, was terrible, and so on. I won't go into detail here, as I have written reviews elsewhere, but if this is a first character meal for you, I would recommend Chef Mickey's--tons of energy there. And CP has amazing food, plus great energy as well. Donald's is a more "plain" type of character meal...no chanting and napking waving or parade around the restaurant, etc. However, if you are going for the reason of getting into AK early, then yes, this is a good plan.

We thought donald's breakfast was great... Our waiter was full of pranks (believe me, harmless and does not embarras you) The food was good and hot. They kept it supplied until near to the time they were switching to lunch menu. The characters spent a good deal of time at each table. We loved it and will go again...

this was our first character breakfast on our first trip to wdw and we loved it. Got to see all the mickey gang and the food was great. we plan to start our next trip with breakfast here first as well, after seeing the safari, then on to EE :thumbsup2  :mickeyjum :donald:

I really like Donald's Breakfastosaurus -- I am in the minority about Chef Mickey's. I find that it's too loud and frenetic, and all the napkin waving and parading seems to rile some children up too much. I love the antics of the characters and servers at Donald's.

We had a great time at Breakfastasaurus last week! We got into the park early (although we were still running late for our ADR) and despite being nearly 1/2 hour late for our ADR, we were seated within 5 minutes. Our waiter also played pranks and was very attentive. The food was good and plentiful and the character interaction was great! Look forward to going again next time!

We loved it! In fact, nine of us will be going there again in February....That is the ONLY breakfast place we will be going to all week.... :thumbsup2 :Pinkbounc

Now my experience was just the opposite. I found Chef Mickey's service very slow. The server got our juice/coffee and then we had to flag her down after 10-15 minutes when glass empty and she went by area 2-3 times.inj addition we had 10:10 ADR arrived at 10 weren't seated until 10:35. The food while pretty much average for Buffet 's was hit and miss some items were cold and some had been sitting there for a while. Charecter interaction was very slow . Mickey and Pluto hit table where we were at about 2-3 minutes before we were seated and never made it back to us. plus too many kids running around! Donalds I found to be a pleasent surprise. I was expecting kinda the same experience as Chef Mickey's. WAS I WRONG. The service was not only there when needed, but kept us entertained. The Charecter interaction was much better then Chef mickey's. The food while again i felt was average . wasn't cold or leftover like at CM. I can honestly say i was going to give up on Charecter breakfast after Chef Mickey's but Donalds changed my mind and is now a MUST DO EVERY YEAR. I haven't gone back to Chef mickey's but have tried Cape may cafe and would recomend that highly. will say this about Chef Mickey's Try it for yourself and form your own opinion. I'd bet if 100 people were asked about each restraunt at WDW there would be 66 (2/3) who liked it and 33(1/3) who didn't. Especially on the Dis board! :teacher:

What time does Breakfastasaurus start, relative to AK park opening? I'm trying to figure out if we should go before opening, or whether we should take latest ADR as a morning break after doing a couple of rides.

we did the latest ADR twice at Donald's. One time was okay.

Last summer, most of hte tables were loaded with debris which hadn't been cleared off. Our server flat out told us that the characters wanted to go on break, and we needed to be ready because they wouldn't be back. And also said they'd be clearing away the food. We were stuck back in a little room, so we couldn't figure out which direction the characters were coming. Literally all the other tables were dirty and empty. The edges of the food under the heat lamps were all hard and way past their prime.

I don't know if it was typical, but I sure wouldn't go at the end again.

We try it here for the first time this trip! We're excited. I hope we have a good experience!!

We loved it and will be doing it again! DS's favorite character is Donald, and he loves dinosaurs. The food was good, typical breakfast buffet. The servers were entertaining. I asked him where the restroom was, and he shouted for everyone's attention, pointed to me, and said "she needs to go the bathroom!" It was crowded, so I felt the characters had just a few seconds with each table then rushed along. But it was long enough for a quick picture. We went to the first meal of the morning. The atmosphere is nice, also.

Donald is one of my G/F's favorite characters so we made sure to go. I sure hope that you have the experience we did because the food was tasty, the service was good, and the characters were great. I say go to the earliest one you can, you get in the park early (your name is on a list and you get in early, which is nice to snap a quick pic on the bridge w/the tree of life in the background and no one around) and after eating you can jump in line for Dinosaur or go hit EE and have very little wait time. Hope you have a great time!

were planning this for our first full day at the parks and want it both to get the character meet/greet out of the way early but also to get into Animal Kingdom ahead of the crowds. Glad to see this has worked out well for others!
