Is this a character meal?

Allearsnet.com doesn't list it as a character meal either on the menu page, or on their list of character meals.

WDWinfo on the other hand (last updated 3/07) says "Donald and friends visit you as you enjoy your breakfast". BUT...it also lists the items on the menu as Dino Hash which sounds more like the old Restaurantasous.

So...is the new Tusker House breakfast with characters? And what types of food do they have, was it good???

It is a character breakfast. Here's the link to the menu, http://www.allears.net/menu/menu_tusb.htm

Thanks, but all the other character meal menus on Allears net tell you who may be appearing....this one does not say any characters appear....it's also NOT listed on Allears separate listing of character meals.

Have you been there recently and know that there are characters?? What characters were there?

They definitely have characters. I called this morning - again - trying to get ADRs for either September or December - and the CM called it the Tusker House Character breakfast.

But don't try getting in!!! I have been trying for weeks to get in at either time. I understood having trouble in September because of the free dining, but was shocked when I call the end of June for the first week of December - a very slow time of the year and no free dining - and there was no availability.

It recently became a character breakfast - perhaps that's why allears does not have the character info.

Thanks, wanted to be absolutely sure that it was character, as we don't need another "just breakfast" meal, lol.

Thankfully we're pretty open about what day we go so hopefully there will be availablity.

My family and I just had breakfast there in May 2008 and Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy were all there. Not only did they visit every table they also did a parade with the kids. It was great fun.

The food is fantastic and our favorite meal of the whole trip!! Have fun

Yes it is. It's a nice breakfast!

We did the Breakfastasaurus a few years back and I'm wondering if this works the same way.

If we make an ADR for 8am, but the park doesn't open until 9, we get in early, right? Then when we're done with breakfast, we're already inside the park, so we can just walk right onto Kilimanjaro Safari before the other guests walk all the way back there, right?

What time do they let you leave the resturant and what time do regular guests get into the park?

This might be worth doing just to be first in line at the Safari, not to mention getting a fast pass etc... ???

This is what we're hoping to do when we go in Sept. We've got 8:05 ressies. If we're not quite done with our meals when the park opens, we'll send DH off to collect fast passes with our APs. As soon as we're done, we're planning on heading to the safarri as the boys love that!

I have an ADR here and i am so excited, the food and atmosphere looks great!

WHERE is TuskerHouse located? I thought it was by Dinosaur, is this correct?

Does anyone know how long this breakfast usually takes? I am sure that it depends on how quickly you eat, but how much time should I expect to spend there?

to disneypolybrde2008 - I believe it is located in Africa next to the Safari, I think the former breakfast was in Dinoland.

It IS, in fact, character... I have made my ressie's for it, and the CM listed the characters that will be there... I just don't remember who they are.

This is a good idea because character meals + children = a much longer than anticipated dining time. I was just talking about this on another thread. I haven't ever gotten out of a character meal in under an hour. So with your plan you are covered!:thumbsup2 Have a wonderful time!:)

Tusker House is on the other side of the park from Dinosaur, in Africa, close to The Safari ride. The confusion is that this character meal replaced Breakfastasaurus, which was in Dinoland. Tusker House was a Counter Service before, has been refurbished into a buffet. There are no characters at Lunch and Dinner.

How do you get into the Tusker House before the park opens (assuming you have reservations)? Do you first go to guest relations or what?

I am thinking about doing this breakfast on my birthday, and then heading straight for the safari. But I will also want to make sure I get my birthday pin and birthday fun card, so I'll need to figure out what to do when.

The front gates have the reservation list and you wont have a problem getting in.

Okay so How does this compare to Chef Mickey? We will probably do both but just thought I would ask.
