I've mentioned sleep issues lately, but what's more odd for me has been that it hasn't really taken a big toll on my productivity. That said, the past week to two weeks has seen less running and exercise than I might have liked.
Earlier this week I got an 8 miler that felt ok, although some chest congestion was starting to get the better of me by the end of it.
Tonight, my plan was to try to get a little longer run than that. Instead, I had the good fortune of getting home a little early (ahead of things work wise), and was able to get outside for quite some time. After about 2.5 hours and just shy of 15 miles, I got home. Only problem was, there was a water supply issue in my neighborhood, such that water was coming out brown. (Quite literally, was very obvious in the toilet especially... gross as that sounds) Fortunately, I'm a member at the Y just a few minutes away.
So, up to the YMCA I head. I get in and figure while I'm there, maybe I'll grab a quick workout on the crossramp since I was still feel surprisingly energetic. Two hours and ten miles later, I got in the shower.
Apparently all this time of relative rest has treated me well? Oddly enough, if they hadn't been closing, I probably could have pushed myself for another hour or more... by caloric burn rate alone, I should have walled pretty hard, but never did. Not sure what the heck is going on, but I really feel quite well overall.
