Hey Ducks!
I just returned from a week-long trip to the US. I went to see my Doc, who in the MOST professional way, rolled her eyes at the treatment plan that the Canadian doctors have me on for my cardiac event. When I arrived at her office, my BP was 90 over 60. She asked me if I felt okay, or if I felt light headed. She also gave me instructions to get off all the meds these guys have me on. I told her I was training for a half marathon. Her response? "Great! Keep it up!". So I'm now officially under her care and treatment and have a clean bill of health.
I then went to visit fam in New Mexico and ran two - 5 milers at 7500 feet. That was tough! And my niece took me lap swimming one day (she used to be on the HS swim team), so I got some good cross-training in.
I've got my 10K race in two weeks and I feel just about ready for it.
Carissa - So glad your hubby is back from deployment! Thanks for all that you and your family do for all Americans.
Maddykins - Yep, I sweat like a pig. When I finished my 5 miler at my sister's house, she thought I had thrown water on myself. Um, no...it's sweat. Everyone is different.
Liz - Sorry to hear you're not feeling 100%. You still have 8 weeks, so all things are possible! You can do this!
About the meet. Looks like Tent D is the plan. Should we have a post-race back-up plan?
Have a GREAT week, Ducks! And be Mighty in all that you do!
