I hear this is closing. Does anyone know if this is true or not? If so, is it permanent or just for refurb? And lastly, if you haven't tried it is it worth it to try to get in before it closes? Or is it the same breakfast buffet you can get at other places? If so, where? Sorry for all the questions. Any info appreciated. popcorn::

It is essentially the same, just with characters. Not as much choice as places such as Golden Corral or Sizzler. I wouldn't go back unless the characters are important to you.

I tried to make ADR's for Donald's for Feb '08, the CM told me that they were closing in on Nov. 9th..I believe but is is suppose to be moved to the Tusker House, but It is not guaranteed.

It is guaranteed. The name is changing to Donald's Safari and it should open in early November. Lunch and dinner will not have characters. ADR's are not being taken yet. Hopefully, they will be soon.

We went to Donald's Breakfast this pass May for a couple of reasons.

We made and received 8 am ADR so that we would be allowed in the park before anyone else...(its very cool to take pictures by the tree of life in an empty park) also by having 8 am ADR we were done by a little before 9 am and were there for the rope drop...The rope drop over by breakfastasaurus is in a different area than where the rest of the people have to wait!!!! and not as crowded..Therefore we were able to get on Expedition Everest First car out!!!:goodvibes .....and then we did the safari but 955a.m.we did the biggest 2 attractions in the park

Also the only other character breakfast we had done on our trip was cape may cafe we did that breakfast out of convenience also because we were staying at the beach club...That breakfast DID NOT have mickey mouse and donald's breakfastasaurus did so that was another reason why we went there.

Everything was just good!! we def enjoyed ourselves,,,the food was good, and i feel for the added benefit of being in the park earlier it is worth it..if you are going to go after the park opens im sure there are better character breakfasts out there!!!

and yes donalds breakfast is closing!!! im not sure of the exact details...from what i remember reading it will still be a donald based breakfast with a different name and in a different location but in general there will still be a donald disney breakfast at animal kingdom..im sure someone knows the details better than me

hopes this helps...im not totally awake just yet!!!! so it may seem confusin

Donald's Breakfast buffet is moving to the Tusker House. I think it has been mentioned is that the location can hold more guests. We loved the buffet this past June. I really enjoyed the selections on the buffet. Plus if you have children it is better then standing in line for character photos.

It is closing on Nov 9th and will reopen later as Donald's Safari breakfast at the former Tusker House.

If you really want to do a character breakfast that day and want to get in the park early, I guess it's fine. We've done it once and don't plan on doing it again though.
The food was good but characters were extremely rushed, barely stopping long enough to take a pic, no real "interaction" to speak of.
The restaurant it's in right now is actually a McDonalds for the rest of the day, it's not set up to be a buffet or to have characters walking around,IMO.

I'm looking forward to trying the new one when it opens! :donald:

Unfortunately it is closing. It is going where Tusker House used to be. Hopefully it is good. I really enjoyed Donald's Breakfastasaurus.

Closing Nov 9 and is scheduled to open as Donald's Safari around Nov 19. Will still have Donald, Mickey and Goofy, but Pluto will be gone in favor of  Daisy!

if you are going to breakfastasouras between now and Nov. 9th ask to be seated in the Mikeasouras section... he is the most fun server. I hope he moves with to the new location.

We are going to Breakfastasaurus for the first time this Sept. Can't wait - we'll be there at 8 am. We love the idea of being among the first in the park :goodvibes . I'm glad we're getting to go before its closed, but it sounds like the change might be an improvement - especially if they add Daisy!

Thanks everyone. Just one last question: when it changes over, will it still be serving breakfast? Thanks.

Yes breakfast will be a character meal, dinner (and possibly lunch?? can't remember) will be regular buffets without characters.

Thanks for that little nugget of info. We have an 8am res our 1st day there and were planning on trying to knock EE and the Safari out right off the bat so we can putter around and enjoy the smaller attractions with our little ones...sounds like our plan will pan out pretty well! yay!

We really enjoyed Donald's breakfastosaurus in January. Great character interaction and the character handlers were so sweet. Fun all around!

Thank You. Now that I know they will still be serving breakfasts even at the new location, I don't have to worry about trying to fit that in on this upcoming trip. :goodvibes

It should work out PERFECTLY!!!!! We have done it 2x!!! I would suggest since you have 8 am reservation get to AK by 7:45 am the latest...Donald's Breakfast has it own seperate entrance way in the morning..the cm checks your name off the list and then you are on your way to breakfast!!!

I'm getting so excited about this breakfast. We've been in MK early with breakfast at the castle and were able to do so much of Fantasyland before most guests made it back there. I'm hoping this will work out the same way. Plus, its hard to see much of Donald, and we have first time visitors with us who will love to see him :goodvibes .
